Hmmm, interesting spot. I guess it's not too surprising that lower-resolution textures would be used in-race; in Photomode it'll be one car, on track it's 16 with damage. And like you said, it'll still look fairly good in 1080p on our TV's.
I'm glad some of you guys think that GT5 is going to be mostly good. :D

I've actually been absorbed over the past couple of days by GT4 racing and Photo Mode. I've taken hundreds of pics, and will finally be putting my gallery here to good use. And man, am I excited about the possibilities of GT5's Photo Mode, especially if we do get that livery editor. Even if I see a pixel. ;)

I have a GT4 photomode picture as my current desktop background. It's a stunning picture of the old 240RS Rally Car, and it's a constant reminder of how incredible the models in GT4 are.

Recently I've been working on getting gold in all the GT3 License Tests (Did anyone else find the Super License too easy to gold?). Again, I am astounded by the level of detail, both in car models and tracks, that was possible back then on the PS2.

I have said over and over, if PD just realeased GT4 with twice the tracks, 1000+ cars, improved physics (GT4's biggest flaw), and improved graphics, I would be perfectly saited... Cockpits be damned. Don't get me wrong, the cockpit view is a fine addition to the series. It's hardly necessary, however.

We're getting a fully HD Gran Turismo game with over 1000 cars, new tracks, new series, and new features. It's hard to see how people can still find things to complain about.

Looking back it would have been a good idea to release a GT4 HD Online around the launch of the PS3. But nobody expected such a long waiting for GT5 (or did we ?;)) and after GT5P it was too late.

Quite true, sir.

By the way, I nominate analog to start the "GT6 feature confirmation" (wish list) thread! :P

Only kidding; unless you really do fancy such responsibility / danger!! :scared:

Just take GT5, create another 200 premium cars, 10-20 tracks, a very extensive livery and customization/tuning system and call it GT6. I'll buy it instantly. Hell, better yet, let us pay $35-$45 and make it all DLC for GT5. Then release GT6 for the PS4 in 2012-2013.

Thank you sir nice post. Don't get me wrong i love the cockpit view and believe we will get them for the standard cars, however if we don't get them I am mature enough to get over it, and enjoy the full product. Like I said GT5 will be the best racing game for years on a console. 👍

Yeah bro, way to take the high road. How about you edit your post to something that doesn't scream flame bait.

What? Man I think you should chill I'm not trying to start nothing, it not like i said (like some members.) So what you trying to start?. Some of the news I heard dealing with GT5 made me unhappy, but because i have grown up and experience life as an adult, I respect that this man and his team worked very hard to give us the best game they could give us. Just as I told other members before Kaz would love to give us 1000 premium cars but he said it would of took forever. With me growing up and maturing I respect and understand where PD is coming from. I was agreeing with DR, not trying to start nothing ,even DR said " It's hard to see how people can still find things to complain about." My statement was not directed at anyone just stating a fact. I have agreed with you sometimes during topics and you have came at me sideways before so its cool. 👍

Thanks for the nomination, but nah I'll pass on that one thank you very much, it will probably only backfire.
I was quite amused however by what one Aussie blog could achieve, it's not so much creating or making up news but if the interest in a certain topic is high enough and official info scarce you'll only have to say what people want to hear apparantly to be percieved as "credible".;)

I'd say people were angry more because they were led to believe all cars would have a cockpit view. Now it looks as if standard cars will not have a cockpit view after all... People would have accepted that from the start I think.

But, with hindsight, it appears as though they told us as early as 2006 that only the premium cars would have modelled interiors... but we all shrugged it off as something related to the level of detail, or to do with the damage model.

 Exactly.

Next time we should confirm everything "officially" we want to see in GT6 from the beginning, creating pressure on PD as it spreads around the web like wildfire it seems and forcing them to actually include it.

Well I honestly believe 100% that if there was no GTplanet than damage and all the other amazing new features wouldn't probably be included in the game .All Hail GTPlanet 👍

What you mean by something and how it can come off, are two different things. On a board torn apart by this cockpit vs no cockpit deal, saying you're mature enough to get over something can easily be taken by someone as you saying other aren't as mature.

Correct, but i think that the "5 years for GT6 was mentioned on the article from OPM, wasn't it? Even so I hope they're wrong

it all depends though, if they want to make it for "next gen".. then it probably will be 5 years in the making..

If they want to make 6 for this gen, then I think they could do it quicker...

Yeah, if it is 5 years----> I expect it to be a ps4 title :) What could they possibly improve for GT6? *skidmarks, trees perhaps* hahaha

Yeah GT4 was and still does keep me absorbed (when my PS2 decides to read it) but the physics were annoying and kind of dumbed down the game. No matter how they rereleased it (as long as the physics were fixed), even with 6 cars per race, I would love it.

But the GTHD 900 degree steering resulting in the drivers arms going through each other.

BTW, this has been discussed a lot already.

LOL don't forget the paddle shifting animation argument debate a while back.

hope the make the steering in GT5 like in GTHD, or at least 180 degree rotation. 👍

To me, and just to me, steering rotation isn't very important. When I'm racing inches away from 15 other races at 185 mph through the bumpy corners at Daytona, I doubt I will be looking at the wheel inside the cockpit to see how the drivers hands are positioned.

Not trying to be mean, but you really need to stop double posting.
