Just the other day i watched Jonah Hex.

It was actually better than i thought it would be.Pretty good explosions,Gatlin Guns on horse, good story, and oh yeah Megan Fox

You know you could've done all that in just one post, right?

I watched "Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps" this monday. Meh...

The Human Centipede: First Sequence - 2009

A rental car gets a flat tire and two American girls, apparently incapable of changing said tire, find themselves at the door of one Dr. Josef Heiter - world renowned for separating Siamese twins. Only now he has a new passion...

I'm a bit disturbed that I didn't find this movie nearly as disturbing as I thought it was going to be. Sure, it nudges some envelopes but the premise is so implausible, however "accurate" the director seems to think it is, that it's almost laughable. Acting is average except for the police officers at the end. I haven't seen such bad acting for cops since Showtime. Easily skippable.

3/10 - One for each segment.

That movie was so disturbing on a lot of levels. And they're making a sequel, at that.
Exactly.

When i seen the part i think you are talking about,i was like "what in the world?Did i he just do what i thought he did?"I couldn't get that creepy image out of my brain for a couple of days lol
That scene and the one where Dren apparently becomes a hermaphodite.:yuck:

You kidding they are making a second one?

After watching the first one and knowing how bad it was i don't see how the 2nd one could be any better.

Yeah those 2 parts of the movie i could have done without seeing. 👍

I'm sorry man.

The thing is i have no idea how to do that.I know how to quote one post, but 2 or 3 i have no idea.

So Wall Street is a movie to avoid? It didn't really look too exciting from the previews.

And you did it again.

No problem, to multiquote just click on the icon to the left of the quote button, do this for every post you wish to quote and then on the last one you click the quote button.

Freaks (Tod Browning, 1932) -- And quite a freaky movie it is! A circus' beautiful trapeze artist agrees to marry the leader of side-show performers, but his deformed friends discover she is only marrying him for his inheritance and will eventually perform bloody revenge on her. This is arguably one of the first movies made for sheer shock value and with little else to show for itself, it does exactly that. Still, the plot isn't that far-fetched and is still believable, while keeping the faux-horror segment alive. The movie also manages to remain politically correct while still making fun of the deformed, but showing the perils of the people who do so. The movie itself is nothing less than amazing. 8.5/10

I just watched Predators the other day.It was really good and had lots of gore.
It went back to the whole in the Jungle feel like the first one.It also gives notice to Arnold in a scene, how cool is that.

The only thing i didn't like is how it never really tells you who put them in the Jungle in the first place.

I do think they will make another one. You'll see what i mean when you watch it.

Dellamorte Dellamore (a.k.a. Cemetery Man) (Michele Soavi, 1994) -- A very odd and seemingly unclassifiable movie that borders between horror, comedy, drama and WTF. Though it deals with a very overdone theme of zombies that come to life and the central character as a cemetery man must kill them a second time after they come alive, it takes a twisted turn (no pun intended) when he falls in love with the same woman three times and ends up killing her again and again. This movie is a definite piece of cinema every fan of the horror genre should watch, but only because of that. It's basically Italian horror, which has never been very coherent and with enugh gore to keep the hardest-core fans happy. Still, as a movie, and not being part of the cult that would watch it, I can't give it more than a 4.5/10

Melody (Waris Hussein, 1971) -- A tale of friendship that later turns into a love story that later turns into a very weird and politically incorrect story of two 12-year-olds who wants to get married. Once you gte past that odd bit, it's actually a nice semi-coming-of-age movie, though definitely not for everyone. However, if you like a simple love story, good 'Bee Gees' and 'Crosby, Stills & Nash and Young' music, and a happy feeling, watch this. 7/10

Avatar (James Cameron, 2009) -- So, as expected, nothing really outstanding here. Classic remake of the guy who is sent to infiltrate a group of enemies, only to become one himself because the enemy isn't really as bad as it seemed at first. SFX are insanely amazing and I saw it in 3D, which adds even more to it. As it usually happens with 3D flicks, it looks like there's so much they could've done with it but didn't. Still, it's an entertaining movie. 6/10

Toy Story 3 (Bought the 4-disc Collectors Edition)

Scott Pilgrim vs The World (Bluray)

I have the Expendables, Splice, Predators, Howl's Moving Castle, The Secret of Kells and an Animated Avengers movie down stairs. Probably wont watch all of them sadly.

Saw Toy Story 3, very good movie(which is usual for Pixar). Also loved the Day & Night short.👍👍

Saw I Love You Phillip Morris yesterday. Ewan McGregor's was the best gay impersonation I've ever seen. Other than the male on male kissing it was a fine movie.

Me and mine also watched Toy Story 3 this weekend and we all loved it.

As for Day & Night, when it got done my wife simply said "I don't get it."
Other than the male on male kissing it was a fine movie.
No offense, Jon...

Please explain. :dunce:

In other news:

Deep Cover (Bill Duke, 1992) -- A kind of underrated movie about a black cop who is recruited by a devious drug enforcement agent to infiltrate a smuggling organization seeking to expand into designer drugs. What is interesting about this 'ugly side of the war on drugs' is that it explores the context of race, identity and hypocrisy within a brutal and alienating investigation. Acted well enough by Laurence Fishburne, who does an odd side-by-side with Jeff Goldblum. In general, an above average, fast-paces police story with lots of action scenes, some interesting parts and lots going for it. The movie remains a good enough neo-noir with its hardboiled characters, rough language and some brutal scenes wrapped around a drug story. This is an intriguing, dark film that is unfortunately, too 90s at times. Still, a solid 7.5/10

EDIT: Thread's 5,000th post!

Daybreakers (Michael Spierig, Peter Spierig, 2009) -- In the year 2019, a plague has transformed most every human into vampires. Faced with a dwindling blood supply, the fractured dominant race plots their survival; meanwhile, a researcher works with a covert band of vamps is on a way to save humankind. This movie had quite a bit of potential, but it got lost at trying to be too gory for its own good and trying to ellicit too much in the disgust department. It doesn't really add much into the whole vampirism either, but at least has the ambiguity factor played nicely. Too bad it decided to play more with the violence than with the depth of the plot. 5/10

Jackass 3D

Story...it's Jackass!

Good taste...my wife would have walked out if I went with her! There are a lot of excretions and secretions...expolsively in some cases!

Funny....the whole cinema was pissing themselves laughing.

3D....this is the only film I've seen that warranted it and/or implemented it effectively.

Short but sweet review for a short but sweet movie 8/10

La Dolce Vita (Federico Fellini, 1960) -- An existential story based on tidbits of the life of a journalist and socialite named Marcello, who is struggling to find his place in the world, torn between the allure of Rome's elite social scene and the possibility of leading a boring life with the domesticity offered by his girlfriend, while he searches for a way to become a serious writer. This movie completely sums up the 50's era in Europe, in a very nicely told story that is insanely sensual, elitis and decadent, along with the image of reality and the thick line that divides both. Amazing movie that took me a long time to watch, mostly because it coincided with so many social events of my own, that actually became a talisman movie for me; whenever I started to watch it, I got a call from someone to go out. I may have to watch it again :sly: 9.5/10

trailer-documentario-senna.jpg

Senna - Watched it last night on the movie theatre, had to hold the tears by the end. It's the best documentary of him I've watched so far. "The Right to Win" was pretty good too but it lacked racing footage, and this one has plenty of it. It also has a lot of good F1 backstage footage and personal stuff too, overall I enjoyed it a lot. 8/10.

Mean Creek (Jacob Aaron Estes, 2004) -- A solid and well made indie movie starred by mostly unknown youths and with a considerably mature subject that truly blew me away. The mvoie starts out when a young boy is beaten up bu the local bully. The beaten kid's older brother and his friends 'invite' the bully on a boat trip with the purpose of humiliating him, but the bully turns out to not be that bad after all, but one of the older guys refuses to back off.

This movie depicts kids in a very realistic light. The dialogue, their emotions, their reactions to a crisis, are very spot on. Good movies like this blow away so called "reality" TV. This type of movie will probably remind you of Gus Van Sant's style, though without the usual weirdness. A movie worth checking out. 7.5/10

Well I skimmed through this thread, compiled a spreadsheet of 50+ movies, sorted them by IMDB scores, signed up for Netflix and added them to my queue. Starting with the lowest scoring and working my way up.

First movie down, The Ramen Girl. The gist of the story is that after being left by her boyfriend who she was with in Japan, Abby winds up trying to learn how to cook ramen. It was a fairly bad movie, its only saving grace being the fact that ramen is awesome. It just went on and on with Brittany Murphy's character acting like a total retard. The only scene I really found enjoyable was when after her broth was thoroughly trashed by her sensei for not having spirit, she then tries to make broth with spirit and succeeds. Unfortunately for her customers, her new broth has very depressed spirit, and they all burst into tears over various sad memories/thoughts they have. There were a few moments where the movie just lost my attention entirely. I even started browsing GTPlanet during parts of it. Not good.

Overall, I'd say pass on it unless you're obsessed with anything ramen. Grade: D

Kick Ass 👍👍👍

I don't have 3 thumbs, but if I did, they'd all be up. What an awesome movie. One of the few movies that has ever made me instantly want to run out and buy it and give it as a Christmas gift to everyone I know. Absolutely kick ass!
