I am thinking of getting a LOGITECH Driving Force GT wheel as it is compared to the other wheels quite cheep. Do you guys think that its a good wheel???? The one that I have now its real low budget and not at all good.

I have a Logitech Driving Force Pro carried over from my GT4 days. I am very satisfied with it. The keys here are getting force feedback from your wheel, and more than the simple 180 degree steering; and the DFP delivers on both counts. There are a few features I'd like out of a better wheel, but I'm not ready to spend three times the amount right now. :) But having a clutch and H shifter would enhance my experience even more.

But I would say that the DFP or equivalent later generation wheels are very much worth the price, if spending $100 on "toys" is within your budget.

Yep when i will buy a wheel than only with 900 degrees steering and force feedback. The question is now as there are a few other ones that would deliver this as well and much cheeper than the Logitech DFP, to choose.

I do not want to spam this thread regarding this - but would you think that this wheel is worth consideration?? GENIUS TwinWheel 900FF

Thx for some tips on this.

TimberW: Thanks for the Week 1 times. So much room for improvement. <sigh> I will try and get you my EVO registration in the next couple of days and hopefully some times by Saturday.

Vasho: I've never heard of that wheel, so I can't help you out. Like TakahashiRyoske, I have a Logitech DFP that I purchased for GT4, but unfortunately never actually had a chance to play. I've used it a few times with GT5, but since I'm still not use to it, I'm awful with the wheel. I get frustrated and go back to the DS3. I keep wanting to go back to the wheel because I think I will eventually be better, but I hate thinking about the learning curve that I will have to go through. But then this really isn't about me. I agree with TakahashiRyoske, if you can find a cheap used DFP, that would probably be your best option.

Act 2 is allready up. 👍👍

ups still did not had time to do the tuning. :guilty: I will do it as soon as i get some free time. But for sure till the end of this week.

And the Tracks are looking good as well.

And the times for week 2 of Act001??

👍👍

I think there is an initial learning curve for everyone. It shouldn't take too long to get the hang of it. What kind of troubles are you having? Maybe try easier A-spec races. PM me if you want, maybe I can help. You can also try ratcheting up the aids, to see if it helps, then toning them down bit by bit as you get used to the wheel.

I've got 3 set of times for week 2. Hope to get more entries in. :)

This is week 1's times in detail:

Thanks TimberW for the times.

I'm a bit surprised and impressed at my ranking.
Seems like most of the times are fairly close to each other.
Good job everybody. 👍

I've still haven't been able to do my times for Act 2 due to my midterms. :ouch:

Is it possible for me to submit them on Thursday? I have my reading week starting that day. :D Thanks

Sorry guys, I've been tied down a little bit by work and other things.

So far, for Act 1, Week 2, I've only got 3 set of times. I'll wait a little longer before revealing the times.

I may let Act 2 run for 3 weeks instead to give a little bit of more time for people to do their runs.

Well there are important things than GT5. So do not worry, there are far more important things than playing this great game :) :)

Hmm 3 weeks? sounds good. And for Act 2 can we only submit times once per week??

And can we change that you will reveal the times at the end? It would be nice to post them up as soon as someone will send them to you. And porbably to post the video up of the one that is the fastest till it changes and he is not the fastest. Or at least on a weekly basis.

That would be nice - at least for me :dopey:

Started to use my budget wheel. Actually since yesterday i was driving like 4 hours total and now at least i can match my times that i did with the controller.

But i know i can do it better with the wheel. When i ll get a 900 degrees wheel that will be something.

Its worth the work to practice with the wheel. Its actually much harder and you need to focus much more but in the end its much more revarding.

I will not go back to the controller for sure. My times that i will submitt will be with this budget steering wheel.

Woot - nice time dude.

Cant you upload the replay onto youtube????
Thanks!

:indiff:No, I don't have a video cam or a capture device but if someone does and wants to put it on youtube go for it. You will have to import my save data to your ps3 first and record from there.

To all those wondering how much HP the AE86 has with the 4A-GEU engine swap, Its 207. I have it in GT5 from the online car dealership so yeah. It says its 207 from the engine and a bit more from the exhaust and the air filter

ACT 001 - Akina's Tofu Shop's Hachi-Roku
How can we not start the series of by starting with the AE86 which started it all. We know that the AE86 is very balanced and well tuned by Bunta himself (Before the Engine Swap). But the specs are unknown. All we know from the Manga is that it's about 150HP. Therefore the first challenge is to build the legendary downhill machine!

Heh i am curious as how long my times will be the fastest.

I bet as soon as the others do post their times i will not be anymore the best.

Lets wait and see.

Just need to do Clubman SR5 and I'll get my times in for week 2. Better get those Evos ready! My Evo VI RS T.M. is a monster machine and as light as they come.

I am gonna use a Lan Evo IV GSR 96 with 1345 kg. That aint that light.

I am getting better with my wheel - it is even fun now to drive with it. Tested my lan evo on clubman stage and my best time was about 1:1:something -
But its hard not to crash :guilty: :grumpy: Maybe i should go slower - heh

Mine is 1250kg:crazy: I knew I wanted a VI or a III with a "Misfiring System" so I could be like Kyoichi Sudo but I only had the VI. I think you meant SSR5 not Clubman 5 but ya I can imagine with all the power it will take some restraint to not smack a wall during a time trial race. :scared:

Great that your having fun with the wheel it really does make it a totally different experience.

I've got almost all the Evos from the used dealership, GSR models and above. If anyone is interested, I can send it to you if you want a certain model.

The new update is here!!!!! - we can now share and race online our custom created tracks - and the Performance Points have been added. So we can now steer the chalanges even more.

anyway I found the Lan Evo in the UCD. Yeah - i bought the one from the Premium car dealership as well. I am going to test them today and will decide which one i will pick.

I will write you today TimberW and post you my set up. Hopefully i will pm you as well my time for the first track.

That is so freakin' sweet. I was hoping we could race custom tracks online since I first made my own ones; this opens up almost limitless togue racing and the PP system with all the different cars... WOW! PD seems to be working hard to continue progressing the game, I'm impressed.

Yep - i am impressed as well. Now just to build in custom paint and one real Mountain Pass track and i am in heaven - hehe.

BKOTT, you can now do it anytime!! just borrow the Impreza!

Also, I'll like to drive some of your AE86s from Act 001!

DUDE TImber! Now we can make awesome custom toge style tracks and all of us can have our "Home" runs! YEAAAAAAAAAAAAA

I imagine everyone of us having a home track with us setting our absolute fastest possible time on it and knowing it better than anyone. Then the challenge of going track to track is going to be just amazing.

I'm even thinking of doing some sort of Project D challenge where we go around trying to beat everyone's time and race them on the mountain and such xD. Too excited.
