What does the r time mean? (ie r=2.517)

The "r=X.xxx" is your "rating" or "handicap" for this week's submission.

Rating maps directly to division and to medal within division. The whole number is your division (2 in the example you gave) and the remainder maps into thirds for the medals (0-.333 for gold, .334-.666 for silver, .667-.999 for bronze).

Vaxen,

I also have a question about the handicap rating, the higher rank you are. Does this mean that your promotion results could come quicker then someone who is below you? I am only curious because I ranked 2nd which I am quite surprised myself. Thanks in advance.

Good clean lap. Seemed to be fighting the car during the last turn as you were a bit slow to get back on the gas.

You should watch mine from the in car view, it looks like I'm fighting the car in all the turns.

Thanks. It seemed like I got worse and worse at the last turn as my splits improved. This is my first game with a wheel and I still feel like I'm not quite as aggressive as I could be overall. Of course, maybe this combo just didn't cater to my strengths.

Anyone who placed very highly in the handicapped results (like yourself) would be the first people that we consider when handing out promotions.

Edit: I fixed the issue with people shifting divisions. Let me know if anyone else is out of place.

Here is my replay. Had lot of fun 👍 some ridiculous times by the guys up at the top of D1.

Don't think I'll have time to put together a week 2 run this week now that the US GT Academy organizers have things figured out for rd 3, but I'll be back at it full swing next week. :sly:

The first hairpin was wide, but I thought your second and third hairpins plus the last long turn looked really good.

Impressive. I was so nervous for you at the end of the lap, though! Half of each tire on the paint. :)

If any of you want real advice, ask a pro. :) Or just watch their replays. And Jake, your replay gave me an error when I tried to load it, twice. You or someone else will have to try it out.

Am I doing something wrong or just impatient? I posted my replay (GTP_Thembg on page 10) and haven't heard anything. Am I supposed to view someone else's?

Thanks.

Hopefully this is right:
NTSC I believe

Oh, and please, any advice would be much appreciated. You will not hurt my feelings.

Here is my replay.

NTSC US version.
Tell me if I have the good one or it's another video because I had the good idea to copy two replay's at the same time...

Looks so easy the way you do it. Great job representing Canada!

That turn 1 was scary! :) Nice drift on turn 2, although sliding through 2 and 3 probably lost you time.

From what I gather, you're just supposed to look for people whose replays haven't been verified, download and copy them to your PS3, and then check that they follow the rules and match the event and time that's shown in the first post of the thread. So basically it's random and people will probably get lost in the older pages as the thread gets bigger.

Thanks for the feedback. I'll try and watch some other replays but I feel a bit funny about giving feedback, i've got lots to learn yet.

Yeah I feel kinda bad if I don't say anything, but if I do say something I doubt it's very helpful... and might even be completely wrong :). I think people that want feedback should mention that so I know not to download their replays.

Here's my replay! How do we know who we should check? Is there some standard way to pick someone, like 2nd from the 4th below you to the left? :)

..NTSC.

When I download the zip files attached to the posts here (including my own that I uploaded) it unzips to a single extension-less file. If I add the .zip extension to this file, then it extracts to the full PS3 directory structure. Anybody else with this same issue?

Peace \/

NTSC replay attached. Of course feedback would be great, but you'll notice right away I used a DS3 instead of my DFGT, and won't be doing so in the future. Couldn't catch my DS3 ghost this week, even spending hours with the wheel. :grumpy:

Still, I had much fun! Thanks to all Admins and those helping on the side, with replay verify's and such. I'll try to look at a few.

Here's my replay.

Another thing, I can't seem to open these zip files after it's downloaded. Is there a setting I must change somewhere?

You had good car control in general. I noticed that you didn't install a fully customizable transmission, that certainly cost you a little bit of time (Just due to not being able to optimize the top speed). I'm wondering if there were other mods you did not make? The car seemed like it was running with a lower ride height, so I assume you installed the suspension.

You braked just a touch late for most of the corners, which caused you to run deep and miss the apexes. If you focused on braking sooner, and getting the car setup and pointed at the Apex, you could get back on the throttle sooner and maximize your straightline speed. This is most important for the corners before the longest straights, but would have helped you in all the corners with the exception of Dunlop.

You also could have made sure you were using the entire track in a few spots. Especially when setting up for turn 2. Keep the car out to the right on approach to give yourself more turn in space.

Again, overall a nice looking run. 👍
