GT5 PS3 Theme | I need your best GT5 Pics for the next version!

I couldn't get my thumbnail to work, so sorry for the size :guilty:
 
Just waiting for one more full size image to come through. Other than that V1.50 is done!
If I don't get that last image within the next day or two I'll publish the theme without it 👍

Due to the user I'm waiting for a reply from being unresponsive I am completing the theme without it.

New in V1.50

  • Genre changed to "Cars"
  • Users who have their images featured in the theme are now acknowledged in the theme comment
  • Color Selection changed to "1" (white)

Just testing the theme now, will be up soon!

Ok, I've downloaded the new 1.50 version, but my PS3 can't find any theme when I try to install it. I have checked that the folders are named correctly (they are). I also noticed that the downloaded file comes with a .txt file ending. I tried to remove that but still no luck. Anyone else experiencing similar issues?

I just tired it... works for me.


Make sure the folder is named> THEME

I've triple and quadruple checked it... Still refusing to work. Drives me up the wall! :yuck:

Alright! I finaly solved it! The thing is, I use a Mac, and the damn thing didn't recognise .p3t as a valid file ending apparently. So it slapped a .txt on it. To fix it I had to open the file info window and remove it from there. I couldn't just rename the file. That fixed it! A nice little tip for us Mac users out there.

ahh good! any chance you could write a short guide of how to change the extention for those less tech savy mac users so i can put it in the first post? :)

I'll give it a go. My Mac OS is in Norwegian, but things are in the same place so you should be alright. :sly:

Once you've downloaded the theme file you'll se it's got a .txt at the end of the file name. That's got to go, otherwise the PS3 won't re cognize it. The thing is, you can't just rename it like you normally do. What you do is CTRL+click the file and you get this:

Click the info tab.

You then end up here:

Remove the .txt part of the name, confirm that you want to change to .p3t and you're off! :dopey:

I hope this helps despite all the "gibberish" in the screenshots. :)

Few of the pictures bother me as they are too bright and the PS3 menu doesn't display very well on top of them but that is just being picky I know :)

Yeah same here, I put the theme in the correct folders on my flash drive, installed with no problems to my PS3. When I apply the theme, I always get a purple swirl background on the XMB, not cars from GT5. I tried applying the theme over and over again, and the background changed once from the purple swirl to a blue swirl, but no luck with any car pictures. Help would be appreciated.

Did you guys remember to change background to the GT5 theme? It doesn't change to the new theme when you install it, you have to select it afterwards.

Yes. When I installed it i checked the background thing and it said the GT5 theme was on. Just to make sure I manually took it off, and then put it back on (theme and background setting), and I rebooted my PS3. Still I am getting the purple swirl background.

Ahhh i see what your mean! Are you using an SD/non widescreen tv?
If you are then your probably getting the SD backgrounds which I haven't changed, they are the originals.

If there are enough people interested in the SD versions I will add them in also 👍

Dont worry I'm the same way! :lol: These images will be removed in future updates, just like others have before 👍
