Welcome to RLT Garage

RLT stands for Real Life Tuning. Here we're looking to provide tunes which are practical and realistic for the streets. We aim at re-creating cars which some of you may have come across. Cars from Initial D and Best Motoring. All modifications will be faithfully done as much as possible to it's reference counterpart.

The tunes here are based and restricted loosely by real life tuning. So the tunes here are suppose to be more realistic, something you'll actually do while keeping the car road legal. Parts are based on what is actually available in real life. All Tunes are done on G25.

There are currently 2 divisions, street tunes and competition tunes. Street tunes are meant to bring out the enjoyment of driving. And competition, as titled, it's designed for pure competative racing.

RLT Garage Street Tunes

RLT Garage specialises in sports tuning for the streets. The cars are tweaked and tuned practically, while still keeping it comfortable for everyday driving. These tunes uses high performance sport tyres (Sports Hard) which provides good grip levels for the street. You won't find max tunes here. Just tweaks to bring out the best of the cars with aftermarket parts.

RLT Garage Competition Tunes

Here, we have cars which are built for pure competition and track racing. S-Tires (Sports Soft) designed specifically for track and circuit racing is used. RLT Garage hopes to be able to produce quality competition spec tunes which can compete with the other tuners.

RLT are just starting to get some feedback about the sports tune posted from the community. So far it's been positive, people start to appreciate the street tunes in a whole different way. Cars that are enjoyable and fun to drive.

RLT Tuning Concept
This tune is based on Ken Kogashiwa's MR2 from Initial D. From the Manga & Anime, we know it's using TRD parts. The TRD Catalogue for the MR2 has limited selection of springs, and the springs are selected from the catalogue. This Tune ressembles what Kai Kogashiwa would have when racing against the AE86 and Ken, like Bunta, touge tuning is all about balance. Due to the nature of Irohazaka, a close-ratio transmission is custom made for his home course.

RLT Tuning Concept
Kai will probably follow his father's footsteps using TRD parts. TRD performance parts are used and the TRD SUSKIT is available for the ZZW30. From the Manga, Kai has upgraded the exhaust system for power and suspension. The two weapons of the MR-S are handing and lightweightness.

RLT Tuning Concept
The Kogashiwa family seem to only drive MR cars. During Ken and Bunta's rivalry days, Ken was probably driving an AW11. And due to the upgrade pattern, TRD parts are used for the upgrades. Ken's AW11 is a good match against Bunta's AE86 due to their countless rivalry battles.

RLT Tuning Concept
Bunta's STi is as stock as it gets. Using already high performance STi parts, there isn't any need for any performance mods. Knowing Bunta's driving style, it'll need an upgraded Clutch and Suspension. The WRX have upgrade parts fitted by STi.

RLT Tuning Concept
This is RLT Garage's Demo Car. This car is strictly not legal for the public roads and is only for track use. Our concept is to prove that an NA car can perform and compete with Forced Induction cars. We believe that this tune would be able to compete with the top tuners here. Over easter 2011, we brought the car through the GVS 300KM Endurance race and with hard driving can utilize the tyres for about 20 laps. Getting the stability and proper tyre wear was tricky but archieved in this tune.

Spec II incorporates a custom LSD. The wheelspin on throttle is now reduced and the 300+ horsepower is able to be transfered to both rear wheels properly now!

RLT Tuning Concept
RLT discovered that the GXE10, the less powerful Altezza RS200, and decided to give it a tune up to see how it'll compete with his more powerful brother. We did some reading and discovered that Toyota Team Europe (TTE), made a compressor kit and it's especially popular factory upgrade. So we wasted no time to build the car, but found out that GT5 didn't have the supercharger option! We were utterly dissapointed, but to 'continue on the spirit', we Installed a Stage 2 Turbo kit which produces similar horsepower.

I've already gone too far with the engine tuning on my G-Limiteds, but I'll have a go with your suspension setup for the AW11 and see how that goes; maybe it won't have any of that nasty wheel spin on the exits like mine does.
 
It's been a while since I last drove the AW11, I'll fire it up later when I get home again and see how it feels like.

Although i wont be copying the Initial D idea, alot of my cars will be cars that are used on the Gunsai Touge so a bit of similarity. The layout of your tunes look pretty sweet, did u make that template yourself or....??

Hi jack, I've also been doing some cars from BMI, but thorough testing haven't been done on them yet.

The layout is done using excel. And then printscreen and paint to crop it out! Haha...

RLT Tuning Concept
Finally, we've got the Legendary Tofu Delivery car built. This is the Stage 1 spec of the AE86, before the engine transplant. This AE86 is balanced and will do both grip and drift. This car, driven and tuned by Bunta has won him many races during his street racing days. And later on passed down to his son Takumi. This is what Bunta's 'Hachi-Roku' would probably be like. Do you want to send some tofu now?

Hey Supermelon! you had the second best time from the Initial D challenge a couple of months back! 👍 haha.. I wonder how it would stack against your tune that time. I'm getting a little more involved in tuning now so am a little more confident in sharing some tunes out there!

Does your tune work on the Levin too? They are more or less the same cars, aren´t they?

I believe that they are identical. However we did come across some differences last time when we were doing some power tuning on it. It may be just due to to engine rebuilding actually. 👍

RLT Tuning Concept
One of the top three downhill ace of Tōdō Juku has ever had, Daiki Ninomiya. His Civic tuned by the Tōdō Juku Racing School specially with Spoon parts. The car can be driven without ABS, as that is the Iron Rule of Tōdō Juku. It will bite you if you're not careful, but with practice, it will be rewarding and you'll start to appreciate the ABS system.

RLT Garage is proud to announce that in conjunction of Touge One Stop Shop (TOSS), we have formed a touge racing team called PROTOSS (Professional Racers of TOSS). This will be PROTOSS' meeting hub and we hope that you'll come and support us as well.

When the v1.06 patch was released, the touge scene was formed! With the possibility of custom maps, racers from all over the world came to challenge one another on the open roads. Individuals came and raced one another. Trying to take the Touge Crown.

And months later, the touge scene just faded away. But now, the scene is picking up again, as individuals formed a website like Gran Turismo Touge Championship (GTTC), to facilitate battles. Thus forming teams, and that was how PROTOSS was borned. PROTOSS consists of three drivers from the very beginning of touge in GTPlanet. TimberW, xXHannibaalXx and vasho. So stay tuned to see the progress of our team!

Like the real world garages which supports the motorsport happenings in their local scene, we at RLT would like to support the GTPlanet local scene. Feel free to browse around our garage and hopefully it'll be a place to chill out with other like-minded car-junkies alike.

It's obvious you put a lot of thought into your tuning; this "garage" is unique in its passion for the authenticity of its cars. Keep going! :)

Thanks for the first ever review on the tunes here at RLT. There's a lot to tuning and I'm not really a professional in tuning. And being a new dad, I don't have that much time to churn out tunes quickly. Also with so many other great and established tuners here, it's pretty intimidating.

Producing good tunes are easy once you got a hang of tuning. It's like doing maths and each car does have a certain formula to it. But producing a great tune requires lots of time and patience. Time on the track and tuning menu.

So, in the end, I wanted to get into tuning still. The so called "sports tune" is almost non-existence, so I decided to specialise in it. Also, Initial D really got me into cars. And always wanted to role play in their universe.

Since I didn't know that much about tuning and didn't have a lot of time, I thought of a great idea. I don't want to be making lacklustre tunes but want excellent tunes that are great to drive. Adopting the concept from BMI's "My Car Challenge", the professional actually will have to adapt and adjust their driving to the car. Different people have different driving styles. And recreating known characters like from Initial D will help set the tuning character of the car as well.

Using parts I can find in real life also made things interesting. And at the same time restrict my tuning options. Spring Rates are kinda pre-determined, so I just have to focus on other tuning variables.

It's also opens up the different tuning methods, such as hard or soft springs tuning. To still be able to produce excellent tunes with these self imposed restrictions is enjoyable for me. So that is almost the background story to RLT Garage!
 
Hey vasho and Hannibaal, I'm thinking of looking at time where we can practice together. If I remember correctly, I'm at GMT+8, vasho is at GMT+1 I think. How about you Hannibaal? How much GMT are you?

Hey man, nice short runs together yesterday! Getting used to driving on the touge without driving line. needs a few laps to get used to it. But it's a great learning curve.

I'll admit, I am more of a driver than a tuner, so I wanted to know if you are looking at throwing together some more tunes of Initial_D cars? I'd love to see your set up for the Takahashi (Rotary Bro's) RX-7's and other main characters cars you have time to tinker with.

Thanks for your support! RLT really caters to a niche market and I'm glad that there are people enjoying these tunes the way I would as well!

I'll admit, I am more of a driver than a tuner, so I wanted to know if you are looking at throwing together some more tunes of Initial_D cars? I'd love to see your set up for the Takahashi (Rotary Bro's) RX-7's and other main characters cars you have time to tinker with.

It'll be nice to eventually have a full lineup of all the cars from Initial D. That'll be a real achievement for the future. Perhaps, maybe I can do it this way. I'll have a line up list which I want to build and if I get a review on one of my tunes, the reviewer can get to choose a car from the lineup to get tuning priority. How does that sound?

I'm aware that Bunta's STi is a Version V. But GT5 only have the Version V in a sedan, not a Coupe. And Bunta's STi is definitely not a 22B STi. Therefore the Version VI (Year '99) is used.
