CLUB RACING TUNING - By CosmicMS3 and Commodore477

Overview:
These tunes provided are meant to be light tunes that improve upon the stock qualities the current vehicle already possesses. They are to serve as club style racing set-ups to be used between friends and allow for small amount of customization with the current set-up. By adding more customizable parts like the suspensions or transmission, these tunes serve as a great base for higher skilled drivers who want more control. However, these tunes are meant to keep the spirit of the stock vehicle while improving the power-band to fulfill the stock transmission set-up.

We are always open to suggestions or comments so please leave them! We have multiple accounts so I can try and meet any demands for any cars but feel free to apply this philosophy to any vehicle you own and share them. We will be glad to post them!

CRT's philosophy:
- Relatively inexpensive
- Improve stock characteristics
- For Club-Style Racing

ALL 95GTIVR6 tunes receive the following performance parts:
Body/Chasis Modification:
3,000 Cr. - Window Weight Reduction
Engine Tuning:
1,000 Cr. - Sports ECU
2,500 Cr. - Stage 1
Intake Parts:
250 Cr. - Sports Air Filter
2,500 Cr. - Sports Intake Manifold
Exhaust Parts:
500 Cr. - Cat. Conv. Sports
1,500 Cr. - Sports Exhaust
3,500 Cr. - Sports Exhaust Manifold
Drivetrain:
650 Cr. - Sports Flywheel
1,500 Cr. - Single Plate Clutch
7,500 Cr. - Fully Custom LSD
Suspension:
3,000 Cr. - Fixed Sports Kit
Total:
27,400 Cr.

SOME 95GTIVR6 tunes do have additional parts and will be stated as needed.
Engine Tuning
15,000 Cr. - Stage 2
Turbo and Superchargers:
4,500 Cr. - Low RPM Turbo Kit
10,000 Cr. - Mid RPM Turbo Kit
Transmission:
6,000 Cr. - 5-Speed Close Ratio
Drivetrain:
4,500 Cr. - Carbon Driveshaft
Suspension:
4,500 Cr. - Height Adjustable

GT Auto:
For any standard vehicle that is obtained through the UCD, I will automatically be doing the Engine and Body refresh procedures. I do not include the cost of this in the overall projected cost of the tune. For any premium or standard vehicle that is either won or bought, I will automatically be doing the oil change and car wash procedures and the cost will not be reflected in the overall cost of the tune.

Tires:
For all of my tunes I usually look at what the stock tire is rated and buy the same tire but one class higher. Example: If a car is equipped with Comfort Soft, I buy and tune with Sports Soft. All of my tunes that are published are using this philosophy. However, because people are very particular about their tires in the world of GT, I will leave this variable up to the individual user.

Mitsubishi Minica Dangan ZZ '89

Additional Modifications:
Stage 2 Engine
Mid RPM Turbo Kit
Height Adjustable Suspension

Tires Used: Sports Medium
Power (hp/tq): 113/99
Weight (kg): 630
Performance Pts: 413
Top Speed: ~115mph

Ride Height: -1/-2
Spring Rate: 4.5/3.7
Dampers: 2/2
Camber: .1/0

LSD: 10/38/19

Overview:

This car handles quite well for a FWD Kei Car. It is a high-revving, nimble car that is fun at lower speeds but seems to loose some of its appeal the faster you go. An interesting note about this car is that because of the high RPM range (you shift right after 9000) the Low and Mid Turbo Kits are surprisingly similar in the performance gain they give the car. I enjoyed driving with both.

Tracks:

Best suited for smaller custom tracks or those with minimal straights. - Autumn Ring Mini, London,

CLUB Suggestions:

Some racers may want to add a little more power to fill out the stock transmission, currently it allows for some drafting speed increases without hitting the limiter.

Additional Modifications:
Stage 2 Engine
Height Adjustable Suspension

Tires Used: Sports Soft
Power (hp/tq): 221/178
Weight (kg): 940
Performance Pts: 434
Top Speed: ~155mph

Ride Height: 2/-1
Spring Rate: 5.3/6.5
Dampers: 2/2
Camber: 0/.1

LSD: 11/39/21

Overview:

The Hommell is an awesome MR vehicle that provides a different perspective through its performance and handling.

Tracks:

Great to experience on tracks that require finesse and accuracy. - Suzuka, Madrid Long

CLUB Suggestions:

Allowing suspension adjustments on this car can lead to some very interesting races. Currently, this set-up is mildly wild; the rear end will tail around corners but it is very controllable. The powerband makes the car enjoyable to drive and helps prevent sticky situations that might arise with the engine in the back.

Nice to see a Hommell tune. I've enjoyed using my Hommell both for A-spec/B-spec and in the seasonals.
Will definitely give your tune a try when I have some free time.

I drove it a bit in GT4, enough to be happy with it and want to try and see what the GT5 version offers.

I will have to check out more of your set-ups. I have looked at a few. If I come across a Piazza, I may try your tune, I love that car.

Send me a FR on PSN I have one on share.
Also I may have an extra in the garage I can send you.

Hyundai Tiburon Turbulence '99

Additional Modifications:
Stage 2 Engine
Height Adjustable Suspension

Tires Used: Sports Soft
Power (hp/tq): 217/182
Weight (kg): 1280
Performance Pts: 419
Top Speed: ~150mph

Ride Height: 1/-2
Spring Rate: 5.6/4.0
Dampers: 2/2
Camber: .1/0

LSD: 9/39/20

Overview:

These modifications allow for close races for the Seasonal FF and also great one-make club racing. This car is fun but does not exactly feel like a performance vehicle.

Tracks:

Has a surprisingly good response to quick hairpin turns, does not pull too much into the corners. Descent pull on the straights- Eiger Short, Grand Valley East

CLUB Suggestions:

This car reminds me of a stock Intergra for some reason. It isn't the most powerful of vehicles but the current set-up allows for great racing and customization. Yet, sometimes it just feels too normal. I would suggest adding the stage 1 turbo to add a little kick.

Carbon Driveshaft
Low RPM Turbo Kit
Stage 2 Engine
Height Adjustable Suspension

Tires Used: Racing Hard
Power (hp/tq): 427/363
Weight (kg): 1240
Performance Pts: 513
Top Speed: ~180mph

Ride Height: -1/0
Spring Rate: 7.4/5.6
Dampers: 2/2
Camber: .1/.1

LSD: 12/41/20

Overview:

I believe that to truly utilize the whole transmission in this car is to add the Low RPM Turbo Kit. It is a thrill to drive but requires some skill to manage in the corners.

Tracks:

Suprisingly good on open straights, can be a good drift car with the proper settings. - SSR7, Tokyo

CLUB Suggestions:

Some club tuners may want to add even another turbo kit but in this case, a new transmission would be the best pairing. Another addition might be to add the fully custom suspension but I like the limits that the Height-Adjustable brings to the table.

I was looking through my cars this morning and saw that I actually have a Piazza, not enough time to tune it just yet but I will be sure to use yours once I get a chance.

Nissan Bluebird Hardtop 1800SSS (910) '79

Additional Modifications:
Carbon Driveshaft
Stage 2 Engine
Height Adjustable Suspension
FC Transmission
Low RPM Turbo Kit

Tires Used: Sports Medium
Power (hp/tq): 170/181
Weight (kg): 1040
Performance Pts: 394
Top Speed: ~140mph

1st: 3.252
2nd: 2.207
3rd: 1.604
4th: 1.231
5th: 0.998
Final: 3.650
Top Speed 137

Ride Height: 1/-1
Spring Rate: 3.5/3.3
Dampers: 3/2
Camber: .2/.1

LSD: 8/37/19

Overview:

I have had this car since I first got the game and have tried many different set-ups. I have yet to find one that is truly great but I do present this tune that serves as a good base for club racing. It allows the customization of the transmission which greatly opens up a car previously restricted by its 4 gears.

Tracks:

Not the fastest and it WILL tend to understeer into the corners. CSR5, SSR7

CLUB Suggestions:

The turbo adds a much needed boost to the car but if you want to experience some really close racing, just keep the car as-is and have at it. Overall, a pain in the rear to drive and difficult to master.

This is a tune from my brother, known here as 995GTIVR6. I will be including his tunes on here as well and also on the front page. These differ slightly in the parts and set-up so it does vary from my club tunes. All the same, they are just as potent and fun to drive in club-style events.

Different Modifications:
Semi-Racing Exhaust
FC Transmission
Twin Plate Clutch
Semi Racing Flywheel
NO WINDOW WEIGHT REDUCTION

Tires Used: Sports Hard
Power (hp/tq): 225/179
Weight (kg): 1130

The 86 Celica has great turn in for a FF car and enough torque in this setup to power through corners in a higher gear. Turbocharging this engine should be done with a mid range turbo in order to keep the power/torque high from 3500-5500 rpm.

NOTE ABOUT MY VERSION OF CLUB TUNING:
-All of my tunes have the Stage 1 engine tune, but the ones which do not have the stage 1 will be noted. All of my tunes will also have a full drivetrain setup, meaning that most, if not all, of my tunes will include an FC transmission as well as the semi-racing flywheel and clutch. The only time I use the Full Custom Suspension rather than a Height Adjustable Suspension is when I feel it is necessary to improve the cars handling beyond the limits of the HA suspension, such as when the car has craptacular understeer or the tail just keeps coming out no matter the speed. I usually use the tires that are 1 up from the stock set, but if I feel that the car needs a bit more grip, i'll buy tires within reason.

My tuning strengths are mainly in FF, AWD and FR setups.

Future tunes:

Chevrolet Corvette C1
Toyota Levin BZ-R
Nissan Skyline R30, 31, 32, 33, 34, GTS-t M
Audi S4 2000
Honda S2000 V
Toyota Starlet Glanza
Fiat Panda i. e.
+many more...

Thanks for posting Aaron, about time!

This was reserved for a tune but upon further review from Adrenaline, a new tune will be posted in a new post rather than editing.

ah cool! I had my Celica tune pushed up to the top of my priority list.
but i think i will check yours out and see how mine stacks up before I release it. I may not even need to release it. (all I wanted was for there to be a decent tune, from somebody)

I think it is a great idea to tune cars that don't have any posted tunes on the site. The list that Adrenaline posted is superb and really tells you what cars need to have a tune created for them.

Let us know what you think of the tune, and I would say to go ahead and post yours even if you do like the one we provide. The more the merrier.

The list that Adrenaline posted...

Just for the record on how this list works, I can not track old posts that you edit tunes into. So for example, post #13 "This space is reserved for the Superbird tune which will be posted later today." I'll never see that tune, and it won't be included in the list. The way GTPlanet works, I can only track 'new' posts. Post #13 has already been seen and the next time I look in this thread, it won't appear as a 'new' post, and I can only logically assume that I've already added it, based on how the process works.
So for you, and anyone else reading, please do not 'reserve' posts for tunes, it's pointless. When you have the tune post it, end of story.

^
Awesome, I did not know that. From now on I will be sure to post when I have the tune in hand, that way it makes it on the "master list"

Different Modifications than usual CRT:

Stage 1 Weight Reduction
STAGE 2 ENGINE TUNING
FC Transmission
Twin Plate Clutch
Semi Racing Flywheel
NO WINDOW WEIGHT REDUCTION
Height Adjustable Suspension
Engine Rebuild (Since I bought this car used with 247k miles)
Chassis Rebuild (Bc of the mileage)
Supercharger

NOTE: Items in GREEN denote the supercharged tune

Tires Used: Sports Medium / Racing Hard
Power (hp/tq): 270/347 / 330/469
Weight (kg): 1204
Performance Pts: 439 / 471
Top Speed:~141 / ~155
1st: 3.156
2nd: 2.172
3rd: 1.633
4th: 1.206
5th: 0.945
Final: 3.100 / 2.750
Top Speed Setting: 168

Ride Height: -4/-3
Spring Rate: 3.5/2.9
Dampers: 1/2
Camber: 1.6/0.3

LSD: 20/25/20

Overview: Rear end is manageable with a sensitive throttle, but the slides are easy to control when it does let go. The car can make full throttle starts with controlled wheel spin without bouncing off the rev limiter in 1st gear and reaches 60 at the end of 2nd. You can actually leave it in a higher gear than normal when driving this car due to the massive amounts of torque. It will pull hard from RPM as low as 2500 til the redline of around 5000.

The Supercharged tune has all of the same characteristics of handling and launching, but the revs climb faster and it handles a bit better due to the Racing Tires.

Tracks: Nothing too tight since this is a 50s car and is quite large with alot of torque.

CLUB Suggestions: Open Tracks with sweeping turns or hills

Next: Toyota Levin BZ-R, VW Sambabus, Nissan Skyline Series
