Did you make sure doubles count? So he is currently trying to add everything up to see what the limit is, but the problem is the bloody paints! It's easy to add up all the car parts, horns, and gear, but adding all the thousands of paints is going to take a long time as the number shown in the game is not the total number of paints, but just the total "unique" paint chips. Making the matter worse, he apparently has thousands with a wide variety of repeats.
The next thing we tested for was on what would happen when you have reached your item limit and are then given your daily 10 paints...
The answer to that is that you do not "receive" your paints, and the game doesn't inform you that you have reached your limit like it does when you try and receive an item from your in-box.
However, the game will continue to try and give you those paints each time you restart the game. So if it's important, you can delete items to make room for the new paints.
Unfortunately though, not only does the game not show you your total number of items you currently have, nor does it tell you what the limit is. It just tells you that you have reached it.
Did you make sure doubles count?
Try deleting something he has more than 1 of, and see if he can receive another item.
I'm just confused by this part. How will I know when I reach the limit? Is there a pop-up like when you reach your sending limit? Or are daily paints the only thing I will lose if i choose to ignore this?
Still missing the photo of the popup message about the limit & the complete item list of DriverSS.
Would make it a bit easier to believe the story & explore the thing.
I don't say it's untrue, but he would be the first person ever discovering a item limit.
And after looking at his account DriverSS with a post count of 25, it doesn't looks like he's a big trader. I am wondering from where "your friend" has all the tons of stuff?
Give me a bit proof to believe it. Thanks. 👍
My guess is that car tickets (in your delivery truck) must count as well as they are in the items list unlike the garage cars and museum tickets.
As I said, there was no message that you had reached your limit when the game attempts to give you your daily paints. So if you didn't know otherwise, you would think you got those new paints, but you didn't. However, by restarting the game, you will again get the pop up window letting you know you were being given your daily paints - but in reality you aren't. That would be your only clue that you have reached your item limit and if you want those paints you'll have to delete some items.
The message that tells you that you have reached your item limit only came up when trying to receive items from his in-box when he had reached his item limit.
They are two different situations. One alerts you with a message about exceeding your item limit, the other does not.

@christara321: yes, that's the normal way how the game adds new items. It will only count different items, every new one will increase your overall number of items (unless it's not bugged due to backup & restore = dupping). 👍
I think it works like this:
let's say you get color Midnight Purple. For the game the color is nameless, it has a number, let's say 1472. Now it saves to add the new item to your save game. A endless list of numbers of all your items + a number on the end with the amount of every item you own. If you have already the color then one line in your gamesave would change from 1472x1 to 1472x2.
But if you dupped the color before, the game would delete the item number 1472 from your save game or edit it to 1472x0. Now when you receive the color again, the game doesn't check your current inventary, it check's the list & it would see that the color is not there. So it adds another one to your real list.
That would explain why we have sometimes duplicates in our inventary. But how the game still knows that after you have restored your old game save is the question? Maybe it saves some informations like sent & received items in the cache & then saves the new informations to your game save when you start up the game?
Not showing any increase in numbers thinking he has not got any new 1s.
Maybe he got his paints but because the numbers didn,t increase in top right hand corner he thinks thats the limit thats has hit home?
Am puzzled to know the right answer?
I think we are all looking at the right answer but no information is not helping?
Chat soon mate bye for now.
Well what about when you dupe a car? Has anyone else noticed that the car no longer has a thumbnail when you restore your save? I thought that was kind of odd :\
Why would you want to have 1500+ racing gear items? Isn't it just parts that you did not install? I have not a single item, just paints (2500+), horns (185) and racing suits/helmets (?/?). My Save game file is 3.004MB with 830+ cars and i can still receive items like gift cards, cars, horns, and paints.

The paint is the culprit simply because there is too much too collect. I guess if I was starting over I would just keep the paint on a separate account. Damn shame for the existing paint collectors.
Thanks for the info, only very few will reach this limit but good thing to keep in mind.
EPIC Fail on PD's part, especially if there is a pop-up message, then they actually knew they were creating more items that one could hold. 👎
Yes EPIC fail on PDs part.?
But as most collectors have at least 2 accounts its just a question of spreading things about?
Take the 2000 garage limit, 2 accounts thats 4000 cars. COOl.
Like ths Suits/Helmets just have them on another account, They are there when you need them thats creates a space of 1300+ for more paints.
plus unless your going to do a fashion parade then thats the best place for them, You only have at best 7 Drivers to cator for?
And if you have for example 100 gold chromes. Whats the point in that? You can at best only send 5 a day.
The true hate of PDs work is the limit of what we can send rather than collect? IMHO. (In my honest Opinion)
Chat soon mate bye for now.

The other totals are working on MYGRANTURISMO totals of the ITEMS.
Thats individual. Unique, One off. No doubles.?
Totals for: Tickets/Horns/Museums Cards/Suits/Helmets/ I can vouch for them I have them all? (Sorry nearly all tickets.LOL)
Paints am not wasting my time counting them. LOL
So the point being your going to have to sacrifice collecting some thing over the other if its a 7000 limit.?
museum cards don't count towards the total, you are still under the 7000 limit
UPDATE:
We finally were able to count all his items up:
Code:5376 Paints
Also, he was mistaken in that he also got the pop up message alert about reaching his item limit after clicking OK on the daily paints. The reason he thinks he did not get the message before was that he had deleted enough items before the daily paints arrived.
He also tested out whether or not it would give some of the daily paints if there was room for just a couple, and it did not. So you must have room for all the paints or else none will be given to you until you make room for them all.
