Since yesterday, I have developed on a complicated idea of working out what drivetrain each member on GTP is most like. It is very complicated, I know. But anyway, it works like this. TL;DR comments will be welcome in this thread
How to work out your drivetrain
< 1 post a day - FF
1-9.99 post a day - FR (which'll also be the most common)
10-19.99 post a day - MR
20 or > post a day - RR (which'll also be the least common)
There is a special process for 4WD.
If you have at least 60 threads according to the number of threads you have on GTP, then you are a 4WD no matter what.
Take the number of threads you have then take away 50 from that. If you get a number that does not end in 0 or 5 round to the nearest 5 (if you get a number ending in 3, 4, 6 or 7 round to 5, anything else round to a 0). The reason I do that is because I'm basing this similarly to GT5 which will always set the torque values to the nearest 5 (discovered while tuning my touge Delta). This will give you your front torque value (it won't work below 60 threads BTW).
In my case, I have 87 threads so I take away 50 to get 37 which I round down to 35. To work out the engine position use the same concept as above with 0-9.99 posts meaning front engine, 10-19.99 for mid engine and 20 or > for rear engine.
This makes me a 35/65 F4WD type.
So then, good luck working out your drivetrain. Also, as an added bonus:
Extension: What GT5 Car are you/How much HP do you have?
Currently a testing phase. Probably won't work for FF's/RR's due to calculation method/car results, may give misleading results for any 4WDees depending on engine position (rear engined almost certainly). You should be fine otherwise.
1. Click on this link.
2. Select your drivetrain.
3. Sort the cars out by power.
4. If you're FF, get rid of the 0 and the decimal at the beginning of your number (ie 0.67 becomes 67) and times the number you now by 10 to get your HP value. Then find the car you're closest to (if that is at all possible).
If you're FR, simply use the number you have but without the decimal place (ie 1.67 becomes 167) to get your HP value. Then find the car you're closest to.
If you're MR, as above but ignore the '1' at the beginning of your number.
If you're RR, as above but switch 1 out for 2 or above.
If you're 4WD, do as above depending on what your number is.
For all, if you don't get an exact number, round up or down depending on which cars number is closer.
5. Post with either a fist of glory or flame depending on what car you got.
Good luck trying to understand this whole post too.
Anyway, the drivetrain I got is, as above, a 35/65 F4WD car, and with my posts per day count currently at 5.14, that makes my HP value 514, and the GT5 car I am closest to is the Nissan FALKEN☆GT-R Race Car '04.
So, what's your drivetrain and car then? I know this sounds all very James May-ish, but trust me when I say it'll be fun
EDIT: Actually, seeing as this is my 88th thread, I'm actually now 40/60.
