This has to be the worst luck ever! My internet disconnected two minutes before starting the race! Arghhh :grumpy: So much time practicing and looking forward to the race and this happens! You gotta be kidding!

From Div1: Loved that, great racing - fantastic to be able to race wheel to wheel with some extremely clean and fair drivers, was awesome 👍

First stint, I hoped to be able to claim Adam's rear bumper as my own and hug it for the duration, but I made a mess of Turn 3 on the opening lap on cold tyres, which meant I had cars swarming all over me - Joshua1994 and Longbow specifically. That meant I had to defend my position for at least the first couple of laps, and 4 seconds down the road Adam did go :P

From then on, was having a great battle with Longbow once we managed to get a bit of a gap from the others - with swapping positions every now and then, that meant Wiifreak was closing up on us slowly but surely. Around lap 10, our 2-way battle turned into a 3-way battle for 2nd place - all the time, Adam breaking further away into the distance as we swapped positions every lap, probably losing 1sec or more per lap in the process.

Into the pit stops, Wii pitted a lap earlier than the optimal 12/13 lap split. Back down to the two of us then temporarily, and on Lap 12 I managed to get a run on Longbow into the chicane and took the position prior to both of us making our stops. It turned out that would be a race changing move for the both of us, making a huge difference on the outcome. My pit box was fairly early in the pit lane, meaning Longbow had to slow to let me get into the box whilst he travelled further down the pits. In the meantime, those battling for 5th/6th/7th/etc all pitted at the same time. I managed to have my pit stop done JUST in time. My car came out just in front of OwensRacing who was at the front of that train - if I was 0.1 later into the pitlane, I'd have had to wait for his car (and the others!) to pass. As it was, it meant I got out with a clean pit stop whilst Longbow was the one who ended up having to let some of that pack down the pit lane, holding up his stop in the process.

From there, that immediately turned my opponent for 2nd from Longbow into Wiifreak. I managed to get out ahead, but a little mistake taking too much kerb in the downhill right (Turn 6?) meant the back end stepped out, and Wiifreak went past. From there, I was reasonably concerned about the same happening again, and the two of us holding each other up to allow Longbow this time to catch us back up - but some sensible drafting of one another and only passing when necessary, meant that never was an issue. Once we got to the final two laps though, the "no no, after you" racing turned into an all-out battle for P2 - side by side for the majority, only eventually settled at the chicane on the final lap in Wiifreak's favour. Certainly some very fair and very hard (this is a good thing!) defence on his part, giving a car's width but no more - very well driven - and very consistent too. Often racing against someone "new" is challenging because you don't know what they will do, but this was perfect, thanks!

Oh and I heard someone called Aderrrm was lonely for about 50mins, poor guy ;)

lmao, if you only knew my history... seriously, if I told you, you'd probably want to buy me ice cream, your case is far from bad 👍

LOL what happened man? You talked about it now describe the story! Nevermind, just read it. That sucks! At least I'm not alone.

Well that was fast. with 5 minutes left in qualifying and having a good time, my router blows up. All the lights start flashing and it's just done. I try connecting directly for a while and I get DNS errors. My luck's not the best. I just have to sit this race out.

That's a real shame for you two. Knowing my luck, that will happen to me tonight. :nervous:

Just a quick note to everyone in Division 2, I only have one internet connection at the moment (until Monday or Tuesday) so I cannot be on my laptop and the PS3 at the same time. I plan on switching from one to the other about 30 minutes before the room is supposed to open. If you need me, you'll have to message me on PSN.

Jason, do you still need me to host tonights race?

Kos wasn't able to join the race while I was host but I guess as soon as I disconnected he was able to join. Must be some sort of uncompatability. Maybe it'd be better for him to join up in Division 1 since it wasn't as full as D3.

Let's leave it the way it is for now so that we don't confuse anyone and it will give me a chance to test out our new internet connection for one race before I jump into hosting duties. 👍

Edit: Hopefully someone in D3 knows to take note of the finish order/times and saves the replay...

Fastest lap in D1 was a 2:13.248

Aderrrm's pole time was 2:14.175

You can watch the entire race here:

Here's the results:

And I'm not really sure how I'm supposed to get qualifying results from a qualifying that I'm participating in besides pole lap.

Also, I'm watching D3 right now so I'll have the fastest laps and results posted 👍

Yep, it was race changing that mistake in the chicane. Haha. But after the pit stop my car didn't feel that great too. I was quietly urging you guys to race harder, but I knew it was futile. I was too far back, I tried for a little bit though. I might have caught up a bit, but not enough. And then I just gave up and cruised, talking to the person in the room with me about how the race went. Oh well, next race! Revenge. :sly:

I should try and switch to another driving view. I was on roof cam, and I cant see anyone till there are right next to me. I think for the next race, Ill switch to bumper view so I can see where people are behind me. I should also use the rear view a bit more. I had no intention of cutting you guys off. I didn't like it when I did that. I overcooked my turns too much tonight. Gotta practice control a bit more.... :nervous:

Sounds good, I will open lobby at 9pm :)

Man, crazy race in D3. Top 4 were separated by exactly 1 second each. It came down to the back straight and drafting between Minion, Nepalii, and CSL, Reevos. Crazy.

Jay, what is the best way to reset a room for times right before I start the 15 minute qualifying countdown? Change grip to low, then back to real again?

That won't do it Forced. It's faster if you just load Nurb. GP/D then Nurb. GP/F again. But you must switch tracks.

Great write up, congrats to you and the others!!

Aderm, 13.2?? Seriously, that is sick fast. Like, a different level of performance. I really would like to watch the replay study it, well done Aderm- I've got 13.9's in me, but NO WAY am I doing a 13.2 with my current knowledge of this track.

Ok sounds good, I'll go back and forth, /F, to /D, then /F.

Sorry you DC'd too man. You were flying in qualifying! :(

And congrats to P1-P4 in D3!! Super tight!

Hi all great racing:tup:
Tried something stupid for pit strategy, but it was fun.
I think my best was a 14.8 something....
Glad were on to the new track. I like it a lot more.
Good way to spend an hour.

Good race guys I really enjoyed it, had a pretty bad start and ended up in last place. But pulled it back together and managed to get 8 which I'm pretty happy with, I didn't see much of the action up front but sounds like it was really close anyway well done Minion and Good luck to the guys in Division 2. :)

I've got the D1 results updated. D3 will have to wait until after the D2 race.

Switching to PS3 now if anyone needs me, message on PSN.

NP... you guys are going to need it for bonus points right?
I know I wouldn't want to be the person counting laps led. ^_^👍

Aww man :(. Any chance you can get TV rights Turbo? To broadcast the races live on TV. lol :D

Word... would have been 1-6 that tight if I hadn't thrown it in the kitty litter at the Dunlop hairpin toward the end of the race. :ouch:
I was 3s behind CSL when be both pitted then my pit crew wasted 8 seconds so I had to push super hard. Nastra was on my draft holding on as we slowly reeled in CSL and Rees.. got the gap down to 10s to Minion and then my brakes decided to stop working and took an off. :(
Only made 2 mistakes the whole race (the kitty litter incident, and I had a burn-out in the same corner round lap 10-ish when the tires were first starting to fall off). So I'm pleased with my finishing spot... could have gone a lot worse.
Everything was pretty clean out there (me and CSL traded paint a bit in the early going... don't think that was anyone's fault really). And it was good fun. 👍

I look forward to an epic Season. It's going to be so hard to make the top5.

This race was AWESEOME!!!!!!!!!!!!
Super clean. All the racers were very respectful and aware of their fellow drivers. I skimmed through the replay and there was a lot of side by side action with little to no contact. Well done everyone! Congratulations to Minion for the win.

Qualified fifth I think and had a good start, coming out of T1 in about fifth again. Either lap 1 or 2 Montalvomc and Spyhunter made the slightest of contact in the turn coming onto the back straight. Montalvomc had an unbelievably classy response by coming to a dead stop until Spyhunter got back on track ahead of him. I got lucky and punched through a hole in this accident netting my third place. I hung with Nep and Minion from lap 2 until about lap 5 where I made a mistake at the chicane and lost their draft.

I remained in third until about lap 7 when CSL and the Dr. caught up to me. I was getting worried about my tire wear so I let CSL by me and leached off his draft. CSL, the Dr., and I had a wicked battle. The Doc caught some sand on the back straight and me (who was trying to conserve tires) and him lost CSL.

I pitted lap 13. Red, me and, the Doc battled for a while. At some point it became just me and the Doc. We where pushing pretty hard together and the gap was falling. Unfortunately, the Doc beached his car (his words hehe) at the hairpin and I was alone for the rest of the race. He was catching up though in the last few laps so it was still a bit intense.

I started fifth, ended fifth, and had some damn good fun in between. 👍

Nice fast lap Nas!

Hm. How did that happen.

It was a shame Wardez missed the race. He would have shaken things up a lot.
