Further explanation of the theme, provided by unit Delta:

"Try to capture a connection between a car and some road painting. It's good if the
painting is something unique (visit The 'Ring), but it can also be anything more common,
as long as it goes well with the car of your choise (color tones, shape, styling,
manufacturer...). You can basically use any car in any track, no phototravel. "

This Thread will answer many possible questions you may have.

  • It is recommended you host your image on ImageShack, Photobucket, or Flickr.
  • Not sure how to post a thumbnail or preview image? Read this sticky!
  • Please use a clickable-preview to full-size, not a separate text link for it;
    it makes poll creation much easier!

  • No post-GT5 editing, besides proportionally resize and rotate, is allowed.
    [*]One entry per user. It must be your own work, and never previously used in a comp.
    [*]Do not ask other users to choose your entry.
    [*]Mark your FINAL ENTRY clearly, with red text. On H2H weeks, which side, as well.
    [*]You may change your entry once. Do it clearly; edit out your previous entry, and
    either post the new one in a new reply, or in place of the original.
    [*]When submitting, use either a thumbnail or a preview image, linked to the full-sizer.
    [*]Preview images can not exceed 500 pixels in either direction.
    [*]A preview image must be representative of the full-size image. Do not add effects to it.
    [*]Do not post "Honourable Mentions" or outtakes - just your Final Entry, that's all.
    [*]Winner gets to choose the following week's theme, as well as the Top 25. Every fourth
    week, the poll will be H2H style: entries must choose a "team", leading to two 12-picture,
    4-day polls. The winners from each faces off in a final 48 hour poll.
    [*]Winners cannot enter in their own theme!
    [*]The Host may ask for the original image and it must be submitted if so.
    It's recommended to save the original image (preferably in-game) until week's ends.
Failure to follow these rules will result in ignored entries and/or disqualification!

So, basically like a car and the scenery behind it or a remake of a painting of a race track and a car? I'm seriously not understanding. :confused:
 
I think what uD is trying to get across is the various road markings in the game, not specifically paintings (though it is indeed paint on the road). Try to find an appealing balance in your image between car and road :)

Yeah, thanks Slipz, that's what I'm trying to say.👍 It can be anything that's painted to the road, logos, texts, colored areas, lines, arrows... then use a car that fits well with it for some reason (examples in description). For starters you could drive slowly through the 'Ring and look closely what's in the road. Other tracks are fine aswell, but the most unique stuff is probably there. Sorry if the theme is a bit hard to follow or even understand:) but I didn't want to go with any too common theme. I could post an example pic but it could be someones idea so I wont atleast yet. Please ask if you're still like :confused: about something rather than post a pic that doesn't really fit. I'll do my best explaining.

I don't know why but the way with small picture as preview and big picture if you click on the small doesn't work when I try to make it. There is a "?" instead of the picture. so I had to do it that way I you see on my post. Hope that's ok. :)

When I clicked the full size link, it automatically downloaded the file into my computer. Have you tried Imageshack or Flickr? Other than that, It's a good pic. :)
 
just click "open" (? - dunno how it's in english) instead of "save"

Great now people are getting the idea. 👍 Just use your imagination and go for originality like some above, it will be atleast as important as technical aspects.

Thnx guys! I was shooting for the CCCL in Madrid when I noticed the "Bus" and "Taxi" signs on the road. Then it suddenly hit me :). Hope to make it into the poll.

I just think the rear of the Citroen Hypercar (whatever it is) would have made a great 'C'.

But still... love it mate. :)

I think you might have misunderstood the theme, I'm not looking for recreations of real life paintings. Maybe you could read the description again and probably post #7 aswell. :)

^I think you still could, if you can take better advantage of the bmw mark colors somehow. I've got a pic from that location and I'll probably post it after the comp to show what you could have done, if nobody figures it out:lol:
