What about images drawn on the computer? Pretty much the only anime using cels still is Sazae-San which has been going on forever.I couldn't put up with the way it went from hand drawn to computer generated - that...that's just so out of place. Even when it's done well I can't help but cringe a little bit.
Do one or the other. Don't combine them both and risk the incredibly high potential of having the two clash...especially when the CG image is in the same frame as the hand drawn image.
Also, there are plenty of anime that combine the two. School Rumble's first episode did that with the bike chase. I don't really mind combining the two much.
Episode 2 had me laughing my ass off. The first time I watched the show early 2009, it definitely had me laughing. Season 2 when I finally started that this year (After a rewatch of season 1 as I forgot too much.), that had me laughing also. Can't remember the School Rumble: Extra Class OVA all that much though.
I'm 20 episodes in, and I still can't see why people consider this a masterpiece.
It's pretty good, though the ending is a letdown.
Also, I really need to see the OVA, Burst Angel: Infinity.

It depends. If it's done well I can watch anime that's entirely computer drawn. I can't really tolerate the clashing of the two though. If it's done right, then, maybe. It's still going to irk me though.
The bike chase was really well done then because I didn't notice a thing.
I've got Extra Class in my queue. Have to find S2 somewhere.

If you didn't know T-12, as of past the early 2000's, pretty much every anime is done on computers these days. Cells are a thing of the past. Only Sazae-San still uses them, that's pretty much it.
BTW, School Rumble be on Hulu. I don't think I've ever seen them remove the episodes since FUNimation uploaded the episodes two years ago.

Try Fruits Basket on for size. The show looks like it was made a few years ago, but nope, it was made in 2001.

It seems like the all computer stuff then uses more than one technique. One which is a lot like old cell style animation, and the other which has models and acceleration/perspective etc. And when the two styles are put together sloppily it's obvious and painful for me to watch.

April 2013, I wonder how things will have changed. I'm very curious on what the 2011 statistics are like, but Jetro pumps these out only every two years. I can only hope it's better than this thing I've posted hundreds of times.
