What the? FLCL THAT high up? What...?

Wow, noticed that thread is from 2007. It got bumped once in 2009, again in 2010, and again this year. Still, even in 2007, FLCL being THAT high up?

I'm more "wha?" over Millenium Actress and Porco Rosso.

Millenium Actress was pretty damn good, but Satoshi Kon definitely has done better.

Haven't seen Porco Rosso, and almost everything Miyazaki does is great, but I somehow doubt that this is his finest film.

FLCL's deserving of being pretty high up there. The problem's the fact that Evangelion is below it... when really it should be above it. 3 spots above it, in fact. :sly:

Yuki looks cuter without glasses.

Although I imagine Cano will be especially annoyed with my opinion no matter what. :sly:

You suck. BAD. I can smell you all the way from Mexico.

Yuki with glasses > Yuki without glasses.

This has been scientifically proven as fact.

CZETA, you are no longer my friend... Glasses > No glasses, son.

They don't suck... to an extent.

Yes. :P

You know how Cano and jeff (mostly jeff) goes on about how awesome Cowboy Bebop is? That's how I'd be with Outlaw Star (and Gundam of course).

Have you tried watching it?

It's oldschool, about the same time as Bebop. Yet with worse animation.

But it's a great fun romp through the galaxy with lots of action and comedy. not nearly as deep as Bebop, it must be said, but not much is.

I've wanted to try it forever but I always forget. I'll add it to the list. I remember the music to be quite good.

Atmosphere was really good, but I've heard that the actual plot doesn't get thrown into the show until episode 20. I can watch other "mature" shows without wading through 20 episodes of slice of life cowboy.

Mostly all I'm hearing is nostalgia talk.

You also suck. But less than C-Zeta. Anyway...

The "actual plot" is interweaved throughout the show. It doesn't just spring out of nowhere during the end. But it certainly becomes more prominent at the end, since the end is obviously where the major plot reaches its climax.

This is a very good explanation of how things evolve in Bebop. And you are not far away from when the plot itself has a stronger presence troughout the series.

Oh, and about the episodic thing again. Samurai Champloo was also episodic and I looooveeddd it. Maybe it's because I prefer samurais to cowboys.. maybe.

You liked it more because there was a flat-chested teenaged girl in there.

But what about Space Samurais? Anywhoo, nice to hear Samurai Champloo mentioned as well. Another one of my very favorites! Fuu! (no, not your Fuu Cano...)

What AOS said, indeed. I got way tree'd in my own fuuu'ing. Interestingly, I never fetl that Fuu aported much to Champloo's development... except for being who makes it all happen, of course, haha.

I hate the second OP. It's so 🤬 lame!
It's appropriate for the show's theme.

How do you fall asleep through these shows anyway?
Because I'm a morning person and I'm not used to staying up. I believe I told you this before...

Futuristic Diary 9

This episode felt so damn jumbled.... Yuki acting like a suck up at first, then acting all grown up.
Yuno talking all weird, the scripting was actually strange.....
Random flashback created so that Yuki knows what to do....
and Pretty boy being a bluffing know-it-all just pissed me off. Hate characters like him...

I like her hair

I will accept this.

Futuristic Diary 9

He seems to have these random moments where he decides to be a boss.... then loses it immediately after. I don't know if I should love Yuki or hate him, because I love it when he does awesome things for Yuno(Saving her from those cultists, running up the stairs and giving a kiss of life, proclaiming that she's his girlfriend), but he followed up that last one with bitchiness. Goddamn, this guy BETTER become boss.

1: Cowboy Bebop

obviously animeinsider is staffed by idiots, but this is an interesting list.

Yes, Cowboy Bebop.

No, Porco Rosso, Love all Ghibli, and this one is great, too, but not on anybody's top 50.
Millennium Actress? heard of it, barely
FLCL: mind blowing, fun, amazing soundtrack and concept, but kind of gimmicky. Great watch but not great anime.

Overall, a lot of Ghibli on the list, which I mostly agree with, but Spirited Away should be above all other Ghibli. Many of my favorites I can't disagree with: NGE, Jin-Roh, Akira, Then-Now-Here-There or whatever, Nausicaa, GitS, Totoro, Patlabor, Lain, Gundam 0080th (but the best Gundam, really?), Samurai Champloo!, Planetes!, Place Promised great too, Trigun, Azumanga, Twelve Kingdoms...

Yes, 2007 so missing some things. But Berserk? just wierd. Not bad, but godawful wierd.

To answer the OP, I love funny anime but dark ones too. Favorites have to be:
Cowboy Bebop
Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood
Darker Than Black
Reborn(although they need to finish it)
Hajime no Ippo
Major(favorite of all time and best sports anime)
Eyeshield 21
One outs
Durarara
Gintama
Naruto shippueden( fillers suck though)
GTO
Hunter X Hunter
Tenchi Muyo
Trigun

I got way more but these are my top choices.

Utena in 5th.

Oh, be quiet. You're probably thinking the same thing about Trigun being 34th.

I like this guy. Hang around more. If you liked Durarara, Baccano is your next watch. Been meaning to watch Hajime no Ippo one of these days. Yes to all of GTO, gintama, Trigun, Naruto, Darker than Black, FMAB, and have I mentioned Cowboy Bebop? Obviously I'll now have to go watch everything else on your list that I haven't seen yet!

Oh, be quiet. You're probably thinking the same thing about Trigun being 34th.

Is Utena any good?

Edit: and if you're into sports anime, try Cross Game.

And obviously anybody on GTP should watch Initial D, Wangan Midnight, and Capeta.

Haha. People keep telling me to watch baccano but I never got around to watch it. If you are not a sports anime fan then Eyeshield 21 might not be that great to you but if you plan on watching Hajime no Ippo then you also have to watch Major and The Prince of Tennis.

It's appropriate for the show's theme.

It's 🤬 and you know it. Everyone knows it.

ta loco "It's appropriate for the show's theme."

Witchblade Episode 16 (I don't remember where I left off so I just started back at 16...and I've seen it before) Anyway:

Boobs. Boobs. Swimsuits. Boobs. Jiggling Boobs. Boobs. And Rihoko.

That's my review of the episode. Enjoy.

They gave it on TV YEARS ago. It was when I watched EVERYTHING that crossed my path. And it was the first series that effectively made me do a wtfisthistrash when it ended. It was the first series that made me realize that not everything that came from Japan was good. It was a revelation back then. A negative one, but a revelation.

Girls still love it, though.

But you hate Trigun, so I naturally have to take your negative opinion of Utena with a grain of salt.

Trust me when I say I seen all the sport anime and the include racing. Also, Capeta is awesome. The progression is just like Major.
