Hello and welcome to the offical RedSuns Tuning Company.

Types of Tunes
RedSuns has alot of skilled tuners in the team and thats why we would like to start the tuning gig. We will be doing drift and grip tunes (Drag, Touge, and Highspeed), for the GT5 and GTP community and they will be posted here to help everyone that needs the right setup for their cars.

Experience
Our team has been in GT5 since it came out and a lot of the members started playing a year ago so that gave us enough time to learn how to tune and make setups in GT5, another strong point is that a few members of RedSuns drift and tune their cars in real life. Our tuners will take requests, but please give it a couple days for it to pop up because of school, work and other stuff.

Maccers Touge Tuning Philosophy

I have decided to do a little write up of what you can expect from my tunes, what my aim is with each tune, and why I tune the way I do.

I have played the Gran Turismo games since GT2, and always attempted to develope my own setups, some times to success, some times to failure. I recently became more seriously involved with tuning with the release on GT5 and it's online mode allowed me to test my setups and skills against other users all over the world.
I have minimal real world tuning knowledge so I develope my tunes based on "feel" alone, this may mean some of my setups may look unusual to a purist of the game, but I feel my target audiance is aimed for a more casual player. I don't attempt to replicate real world settings as I currently don't enough to knowledge to do so, hopefully as time goes on my understanding of tuning in the real world grows and I can begin to adapt it to my GT5 setups.

My setups are developed and intended to be used on custom Toscana and Mt Aso tracks as these are the closest option we have in GT5 to replicate "Touge" racing. As I am a DS3 user my aim with each tune is to try and make it as easy to use at the limit without being a boring car to drive. My setups may not get you round the track the fastest, but they should keep you on it, and you should have a blast driving them. I personally find a car that is setup to be easy and forgiving to the user to be much more fun and enjoyable than a setup that requires 100% concentraition and a professional level skill set.

All of my setups are designed to meet the LotS league regulations,

Sports Hard Tyres or Comfort Tyres Only
Ballast use - 5% of total car weight (Example) !
Power Limiter use - 95%-100% !
Fully Customizable Transmissions are not allowed !
5-Speed/6-Speed Close Ratio Transmission are allowed
Max ABS = 1 !

This does mean that all my setups don't quite reach the full potential a car can reach in general, but they are maximised to be at full potential for what they are designed for.

***UPDATE***
With the recent release of Initial D Fifth Stage, combined with the latest physics patch 2.09 this car has been put through a major overhaul, new look, new parts list, new settings, brand new feel

Builders Summary:

I have had a long history with this car, and have been constantly adjusting it's settings to try and find ways to improve it's driving characteristics.
My main objective with this car has always been to make it as easy to drive as possible whilst still keeping it fun to use.
You should find with this setup the car has a neutral balance to it, there should be no dramatic oversteer, or any experiance of the front pushing wide.
With this LSD and suspension combination you should find this car has great on-throttle roation to help get on the power early to exit corners.
The LSD has enough lock to get both wheels spinning under full throttle in 2nd gear to help it corner tight to the hairpins, and at the same time is balanced to stay planted to the road at higher speeds through higher gears.
The tyre wear should be very even, with the front tyres wearing just slightly faster than the rears but this could be down to my driving style.

***UPDATE***

Builders Summary:

Updated to deal with the changes from 2.09.
I have always liked this car, being an Initial D fan it's hard not too, but I have always found the GT5 version a little dissapointing, especially with it's broken weight balance (60/40 stock in game) / (53/47 stock in real life) which makes the car feel very loose, it's its quck to respond to steering imputs, but the rear end just gives no feedback.
I have tryed to tame the tendancy of the rear to constantly want to swap places with the front without making the car handle numb and dull.
With this setup you should find the steering response is still very quick to imputs and is capable of changing direction very fast, while keeping the rear in check.
On cold tyres the rear tyres will feel a bit loose but once you put some heat into them they liven up and give a much better responce and feedback.
This is a tricky car to drive at the limit, it requires you to be carefull with your braking and accelerating to keep the car balanced if you start pitching the car back and forth it will become unbalanced and begin to slide or push wide understeering.
Once you learn this car and whichever track you decide to drive it on it becomes very rewarding to drive and very fun once you start keeping up with more powerfull cars.

This is my attempt to replicate Takumi Fujiwara's fourth stage AE86, and again like with my tune for the first stage AE86 this isn't an exact replica tune.

3F Dampers Compression 6R
3F Anti-Roll Bars 4R

2.5F Camber Angle (-) 2.5R
-0.04F Toe Angle 0.06R

3F Brake Balance 4R

This car has similar handling characteristics to my first stage AE86 tune, it's fairly well balanced and predictable but slightly more oversteer, and again I may re-visit this tune to improve on it and do a side tune optional extra for use of the fully customisable gearbox.

EDIT: Had another try at retuning this car but im still not fully happy with it, despite it being 40 more PP than my other AE86 it's only about 1 - 2 seconds faster depending on the track.

***UPDATE***
Just updated this car to be compatible with 2.09.
This car has always been a tricky car for me to tune, but thats what makes it a fun drive for me, it's not a perfectly balanced street racer, this car rewards smooth drivers (which I am not:lol:)
You will most probably find with this car as you come off the brakes, turn in, and get back on the acceleration simultaneously the rear will slide out, helps for tight hair-pin turns, but can be tricky to get used to, I belive this is an issue with the dampers I havn't quite worked out yet.
Because of that this car is running a quite open and slack LSD to help keep it stable, but you may experience a bit of inside wheel spin.

Actually.. it isn't stock as it's pushing 350hp during Stage 1. I'm not sure, but I wouldn't be surprised if later on in the series it's pushing even more. It would be around 480PP, more or less, with 350hp.. depending on the weight reduction.

In stage 1, he switches the 1st aftermarket turbines before the AE86 battle so maybe the engine is stock but turbines are aftermarket, we'll never know other then Shigeno him self. 350PS = like 345?

Didn't I already do one?
Well yes but this time i'm using the actual correct model of his car, and I kind of wish I hadn't, I had hopes of this car being able to come close to the performance of the Spirit R but once I started to tune and drive it I soon realised that was never going to happen.

***UPDATE***
Updated car to be compatible with 2.09 physics.

This car like the FC3S, was tricky car to setup, it has a natural tendancy to want to oversteer, I did my best to try and tame that through LSD and suspension work. This car does still tend to lean towards oversteer under full throttle while cornering (I put this down to the rear tyres not being wide enough for this amount of power) but with carfully throttle modulation and steering imputs you should find this car to be very balance through the corners and the oversteer should happen progressively and smoothly.

This is a great car to drive, handles nice and smooth does exactly what you want, this car tends to wear out the front tyres faster than the rears, not sure if thats my driving style or the tune, it has a great power delivery and holds tight to the apex but if needed you can give it a flick of oversteer at corner exit once the front tyres start to wear out. It's not the most competitive car for 450PP but it will suprise a few cars if driven well.

And this now completes my RedSuns / Project D cars I will next be moving on to tuning other Initial D cars.

First of let my say i'm no AWD specialist, I normaly don't tune these kind of cars as I find with the AWD setup you can have a not so great tune that drives well only due to the AWD system.

Car: Subaru IMPREZA COUPE WRX TYPER STI VERSION VI '99
Colour: Sonic Blue Mica

This is a fun car to drive its easy to drive fast and with the AWD system it's easy to recover from any mistakes, It's not the quickest car for 500pp but it pulls like a train in a straght line and if you choose to you can drive it rallye style four wheel drifting round the hairpins.
