Car Regulations:
Comfort Soft Tires
Tuning Prohibited

Allowed: oil change, engine rebuild, chassis restoration, wheel rims, & paint
The VCRC has a detailed description of Tuning Prohibited Explained HERE.

Race Regulations:
all aids off except ABS
tire wear on
damage light
slipstream weak
penalty off
boost off
grip real
reverse grid order after race #1

Race Procedure:
  • Qualifying (10 minutes) before Race #1 to begin at event start time with a track reset
  • Racers qualify and then stay on track until race starts to preserve qualifying position
  • Race #1 : fastest first, in a determined 1-make race.
  • Race #2+ : RGO, cars assigned according to finishing grid # order of previous race. (may move up the list, keeping in order, to utilize all the cars)
  • Short 2-5 minute breaks in between races for personal pit stops &/or taking the next car for a test drive.
Points:
flat points determined by participation # in each race
(ie: 10 drivers in the race, #1 gets 10 points, and so forth)

Rules:
GTP OLR Rules
  • Please familiarize yourself with these rules prior to racing.
  • All regular rules and regulations apply - regardless of who is in what car on which track.
  • If someone else is flouting the rules, you report them after the race and they will be warned, receive penalties, or in a serious case expulsion from the league.
  • Retaliation, "payback", or monkey-see-monkey-do rule flouting will not be tolerated.
  • In a case where a racer fails to make contact concessions, the concession will be applied post-race.
  • Race #1 of each session will be a 1-make race in a car chosen by whoever is in the top "host" position in the lounge at the scheduled start time. (Only exception to this is if the Race #1 1-make car has been decided on for some reason prior to the event or racing session.)
  • In the case a driver did not complete the previous race, that driver will be 1st on grid according to RGO, so to make things fair, that driver will also be obliged to drive the car listed as #2 (or the corresponding car if using the modified lists). (to prevent scoffing)
  • In case a driver has left the lounge in between races for any reason, that driver will be in front on the grid according to RGO. If the car assignment is #1 the driver will keep that car assignment, for all other car assignments that driver will take #2 car instead. (to prevent scoffing)
  • In order to keep everyone honest, and that no mistakes are made - drivers will note the car they themselves should be in PLUS the driver on the finishing grid in front of them (in the case of #1 - check the last place racer's car)
  • Drivers must have all list cars prepared and drive the assigned car according to the car assignment rules.
  • In a case where a racer cannot get in the proper car, they must sit out the race and follow the rule for skipped races, or use the #2 car (in addition to whoever placed 2nd in the previous race).
Race Stewards:
To be consulted regarding the rules or in the event of any race incidents.
Please consult the stewards who raced in your schedule.
  • cc570 / cc570
  • IMZIZ / IMZIZ
  • jackargent / jackargent
  • Zorrin / Ditquois
  • turbogeit / turbogeit
  • SagarisGTB / Sagarismic
  • watermelonpunch / wat3rm370n
Race will be hosted in the VCRC Lounge, add PSN: VCRC
Note: The VCRC account is just the club lounge account. It will rarely be signed on.
Get the FR in a.s.a.p. to assure acceptance in advance of racing.
In order to check the league lounge, you must click on the coffee cup,
and wait for the room content list to present.
No yellow people icon will show, even when the room is full.

Also please note that all club communication should be done through GTPlanet,
and not directed toward the PSN acct VCRC, as nobody checks messages there often, if at all.
  • While the purpose is to create closer more exciting and interesting racing among various racers of various experience with a variety of models on track... The car assignment list is not meant to be "fair" nor a perfect parity/disparity scheme. It is meant to be much like a shuffle race, and subject to a great deal of random chance.
  • If you enjoy shuffle racing, you may like this even better. 👍
  • If you don't like shuffle racing, &/or you find Reverse Grid Order frustrating, this is not the race series for you.

Of course I'm interested, subject to the usual inability to commit time-wise... And I'm sure I will soon have all the cars. But I refuse to drive the honda. If I get that Honda as a point of protest I will drive the entire race in Reverse (however following the correct course direction). I truly despise that car. I'm not sure that I've made that clear enough yet to you Melon :D

I rather like it a bit. :guilty:
I would've expected people to cut up rough about the Isuzu 117COUPÉ ‘68.
But who knows, we may eliminate it, after all.

It's not like I included the Lancia Stratos.
You can get that in a REAL shuffle race. :sly:
And we're not including the muscle cars that all top out at the slightest speed... also a vehicle you can get in a shuffle race. ;)

But essentially that's kind of the fun of a shuffle concept... That once in awhile, you're going to have to race in a car that you think is crapola cruddy!! :yuck: :odd: :D
Guaranteed that not everyone is going to like every single car on a list of 16 cars.
And some are likely to be quite the stinkers on particular tracks. lol

Tue 10th & wed 18th (early race) please.

This is an awesome project that has taken much hard work & dedication to bring to fruition. To my shame I did precisely none of that work. I salute those that did.

What would be the best way to communicate the list of car we are missing?
would a list in this post be a good way? or a list in the original testing thread? or no list?

We have a list going & a schedule of car gifting for anyone who needs it in the VCRC forum!
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/group.php?do=discuss&group=&discussionid=2904

Check the opening post - and you will see.
Then post your needed cars there after taking an inventory. 👍

Let me know who can crop up for the test runs! :)
You don't need to have all the cars gathered for the test racing, just at least some of them... so we can try some racing with different cars from the list together. 👍

I'm good to go for the Saturday and late Wednesday sessions. I'm missing the Lancer 1600 and the Bellett 1600.

We've got several people scheduled to receive missing cars on the VCRC forum vintage mixer car acquisition thread:
https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/group.php?do=discuss&group=&discussionid=2904
(Check the bottom of OP for the gifting schedule)

Trying to coordinate to get everyone fixed up with the cars in an efficient manner.

Again, nobody needs ALL the cars to sign up for the testing sessions. The testing sessions will just involve races with everyone using different cars from the list to get an idea of how this could work. Should be some fun fun involved in finding out though! :D
And even better - if you involve yourself in the testing, you're more likely to have a say in what cars get cut from the list.
Zorrin ahem Honda 1300 ahem *cough*. :sly:

Confirmed - I have all cars. I may be lucky enough to make the Saturday testing session.

I do expect to make the Euro time Event on Wednesday the 18th.

Hi Chloe

Thank you for the invite and I would just like to add that you put on an awesome show. Lately I’m after high horse power and good grip but thanks for the invitation. Keep up the great work.

My thoughts after testing.
!: the list can be trimmed down quite a bit, alot of the cars are very similar and quite close in performance for example the two mitsubishi's and the Celica so similar why have all three? Same for the Alfa sprint speciale and duetto. The GTA if quicker because its lighter but its the same drivetrain for all three probably not much difference on a track with fast turns.
Also if the idea is to even up the field the faster cars should be easy to drive unlike the Alpine and Europa no? Even if you have more than one driver per car it would be much easier to manage.
First time trying the Skylines they are grippy beasts.

Well yes, I think there are sort of "duplicates". But I didn't see that as a bad thing, as I thought part of the appeal here was to get as many different models together on the track, because we never do that.
So that's where I was going with that. Indeed, I really get disappointed when in shuffle races the ratio is set so low that several people are in the same cars. :yuck: (Worse, it seems to happen the most when it's at a pp base that's likely to give everyone Lancer Evos. :ill: )

But anyway... that was the idea there. Though I'd be interested in other people's thoughts on this... If anyone else was on the same page with this or not. I honestly don't know, I hadn't thought of it before.
I was just thinking about how I've had a lot of people say they wish we could do more mixed model racing. So I guess I was swept away with that! :D

I'm not sure if the idea is so much to even up the field... by giving anybody an easy win or a really tough time.
More sort of giving people who come in low in the previous race a "possibly better shot" with the next.

And with the idea that if say it's a small field, the numbers can be doubled to "up the ratio" so to speak.

I would like to weed out any cars people think are really atrocious handling for their speed, of course.
That's why I had ruled out the Stratos, the A110, and I can't think of the other car that I got rid of but it was another one that jumped around everyone's lap time test lists.

Oh, and I think we can always ADD in that Toyota, and the Cosmo (or 110S) 67.
So I was just thinking of cutting 3 of these for now, and then seeing how it goes with the 1st event, and seeing if we want to try those 2 cars instead.

I know the BMW isn't EASY handling. But I don't think it's atrocious. I think it's do-able.
Alpine A310 I'm less convinced about.

By the way, I don't foresee having a full grid, and using all 16 cars at once, but I would like to keep 16 on the list, just in case there is 16, and also in case we want to "double the numbers" or let people decide between 2 cars.
For example... You come in 1st - you can choose between #1 & #2 for the next race, 2nd place can choose between 3&4, & so forth.
There's some options we can fiddle with here.

Okay so this was the old list:
OLD LIST:
  1. Isuzu 117COUPÉ ‘68
  2. Isuzu Bellett 1600 GT-R ‘69
  3. Nissan SKYLINE 2000GT-B (S54A) ‘67
  4. Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint Speciale ‘63
  5. Honda 1300 Coupe 9 S '70
  6. Alfa Romeo Spider 1600 Duetto ‘66
  7. Mitsubishi GALANT GTO MR '70
  8. Nissan Fairlady 2000 (SR311) ‘68
  9. Lotus Elan S1 ‘62
  10. Mitsubishi Lancer 1600 GSR '74
  11. Volkswagen Golf I GTI '76
  12. Toyota CELICA 1600GT (TA22) '70
  13. Alpine A310 1600VE '73
  14. Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GTA 1600 ‘65
  15. Nissan Fairlady 240ZG (HS30) '71
  16. BMW 2002 Turbo '73
  17. Nissan SKYLINE 2000GT-R (KPGC110) '73
  18. Nissan SKYLINE HT 2000GT-R (KPGC10) '70
  19. Lotus Europa Special '71

And this is my new list (which is missing 2 cars, but in the event we get a large turn out, we can always just give more than one driver the same car, or think later about adding those other cars into the list).

  1. Isuzu Bellett 1600 GT-R ‘69
  2. Nissan SKYLINE 2000GT-B (S54A) ‘67
  3. Alfa Romeo Spider 1600 Duetto ‘66
  4. Lotus Elan S1 ‘62
  5. Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint Speciale ‘63
  6. Mitsubishi Lancer 1600 GSR '74
  7. Volkswagen Golf I GTI '76
  8. Toyota CELICA 1600GT (TA22) '70
  9. Nissan Fairlady 2000 (SR311) ‘68
  10. Nissan Fairlady 240ZG (HS30) '71
  11. BMW 2002 Turbo '73
  12. Nissan SKYLINE 2000GT-R (KPGC110) '73
  13. Nissan SKYLINE HT 2000GT-R (KPGC10) '70
  14. Lotus Europa Special '71

The ordering adjusted just a tad for a couple of cars after seeing their performance in actual racing.

But I did decide to keep all the Skylines because yes, they are all quite nice.

Of course that 70 is so nice it's easy to forget it's not as nice as I think it might be. And thus my lunacy on Autumn Ring there. :guilty:  That was very silly of me.

You mean I painted Poopy and now I'll never need it again?

Is the Golf the only FF? I think so right? If so I'd wager that get rid of that too. Only because of it's handling characteristics and if you understeer you'll most likely ruin somebody else's race, whereas oversteer you'll probably only shoot yourself in the foot.

Well it's either Poopy or the Golf. You can't cut both. We'll be down to no cars. hahahaha
I do like the idea of having a variety of handling characteristics.
I do see your point about the understeering. But that also could be a boon to someone following the golf in a slower car.

Anyway, I'm going to quote the infamous task-master host of clean GTP shuffle races that I know we both know... your car being crappy is NOT an excuse. ;) ;)
That's why we like shuffle races, right? Because sometimes you draw the beauty, and sometimes you draw the beast.

BTW: I'll send you another crap-brown paint chip if you really need one. ;)
It comes on the Super Bird right?
"Stock Crap Colour Brown"
I'll go trade for one in the marketplace. Perhaps it comes in matte as well as metallic.

Last edited:
Haha actually that Poopy was some weird metallic chip, it didn't look poopy till I painted it.

Perhaps we can add more FFs, but I guess there's not a lot of choice?

I love the Golf, it will never be painted like Poopy. Never, and don't you dare do it or you'll make a grown man cry.

I don't think I have all the cars, but I can come for testing on Saturday.

You are most welcome!
