VCRC *Vintage Mixer League* -Sign Ups Welcome- Next race 23rd May

Just as a heads up reminder, and perhaps an alert for those new...
Race will be hosted in the VCRC Lounge, add PSN: VCRC
Note: The VCRC account is just the club lounge account. It will rarely be signed on.
Get the FR in a.s.a.p. to assure acceptance in advance of racing.
In order to check the league lounge, you must click on the coffee cup,
and wait for the room content list to present.
No yellow people icon will show, even when the room is full.

Also please note that all club communication should be done through GTPlanet,
and not directed toward the PSN acct VCRC, as nobody checks messages there often, if at all.

I am unfortunately going to have to revoke my interest in participation. I have something going on that evening.

Oh, was it mentioned that the Golf is now in the OCD!! đź‘Ť đź‘Ť
So that's one nobody has to worry about.

Which means I'm missing 3 cars...:scared: let me go see what's offered.

Got them on the list...
Isuzu Bellett 1600 GT-R ‘69
Toyota CELICA 1600GT (TA22) '70
Nissan Fairlady 2000 (SR311) ‘68

If you have any spares of any of the others to offer, that could be helpful. đź‘Ť

Both of these cars are identical specs, and therefore interchangeable. đź‘Ť

I've added the car needs to the car acquisition thread...

BTW Aardvark, that's a very popular signature block quote.   I've been seeing that in people's signature blocks on forums for over a decade now! Douglas Adams was clearly brilliant! :)

Some photomodes from the test races the other day...

You may put me down for all euro wednesdays.

Flying is learning how to throw yourself at the ground and miss.

Will do!

I think I've got the car acquisition coordinated as well as could be expected to get everyone set up in time for Wednesday. đź‘Ť

But we're still looking for people able & willing to help out gifting cars! đź‘Ť

I've updated the rules for the possible occurrence of someone not having the proper car ready...

Rules:
  • GTP OLR Rules - please familiarize yourself with these rules prior to racing
  • All regular rules and regulations apply - regardless of who is in what car on which track.
  • Race #1 of each session will be a 1-make race in a car chosen by whoever is in the top "host" position in the lounge at the scheduled start time. (Only exception to this is if the Race #1 1-make car has been decided on for some reason prior to the event or racing session.)
  • In the case a driver did not complete the previous race, or has left the lounge in between for any reason, that driver will be 1st on grid, so to make things fair, that driver will also be obliged to drive the car listed as #2 (in addition to whoever has #2 as well), so that there's no scoffing. (Unless they are assigned #1 car, in which case that's the car they should take.)
  • In order to keep everyone honest, and that no mistakes are made (and to delegate the work) - drivers will note the car they themselves should be in PLUS the driver on the finishing grid in front of them (in the case of #1 - check the last place racer's car)
  • Drivers must have all list cars prepared and drive the assigned car. In the case of a 1st time participant who finds they can't get in the proper car, they will either have to drive #1 car, or if that's the one they don't have, they must sit out the race and follow the rule for skipped races. (This would be a one-time exception only for new sign-ups, as to be fair to all other prepared racers.) In all other cases, racers would be required to sit out the race and follow the rule for skipped races.

I believe I've come up with a system here to predict most of the possible scenarios & provide a hopefully fair protocol for dealing with them.

If anyone needs any of the above clarified, feel free to ask questions.

I highly recommend that everyone prepares the cars ahead of time by going into their lounge and setting "tuning : prohibited" and entering the track with all the cars.

And, just a tip... if you're printing out the numbered car list, perhaps it would be a good idea to note the colour of your league car selection next to the model on the list, to help you find the correct unmodified car quickly in your garage.
(Highly recommend making them all favourites if you have a big garage. :scared: My non-favourites section of my garage takes forever & a day to load in the lounge. :yuck:)

I am not clear on the numbered car list. Where is the list with numbered cars?

It's in the OP:

Racers will be assigned cars by the finishing order number # of the previous race. đź‘Ť

(I hope this is what you meant?)

I'm going to be a wee bit late for tonight's practice, but I should be with you before half 7 BST.

But I do know where my towel is.

hee hee hee

That's fine, it's going to be pretty informal for the test racing. Just want to get a feel for how the system is going to work.
The testing went so well the other day that we were able to root out & discard all the real stinkers & wild card cars.

When I say testing went well, I mean of course except for the one race where 2 laps in a row I put in what turned out to be wild reckless passes on cc570 & sent my car straight into the barrier in the same spot twice.
 :guilty: :ouch: đź‘Ž

There is a tad of a different approach needed when in a mixed model race!! đź’ˇ

REVISED LIST AFTER TESTING TODAY:

The Cars:
  1. Alfa Romeo Spider 1600 Duetto ‘66
  2. Isuzu Bellett 1600 GT-R ‘69
  3. Lotus Elan S1 ‘62
  4. Nissan SKYLINE 2000GT-B (S54A) ‘67
  5. Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint Speciale ‘63

  9. Nissan Fairlady 2000 (SR311) ‘68
  10. Nissan Fairlady 240ZG (HS30) '71 (same car as: Nissan 240ZG (HS30) '71)
  11. BMW 2002 Turbo '73
  12. Nissan SKYLINE 2000GT-R (KPGC110) '73
  13. Nissan SKYLINE HT 2000GT-R (KPGC10) '70
  14. Lotus Europa Special '71

The order of the 1st 4 is changed, and the golf & celica switched.

all i see are brackets with a star inside the brackets

edit, it is a question of formating, on my computer they are correct but on my hand held they are brackets

I still need nearly all of the cars and time is running out before the first event. I already have the golf since it's in the OCD...

It's not looking good for me at all...
