Get ready for an intense 41 lap battle between the Raging Bull and the Prancing Stallion, on the infamous Spa Circuit.

General info: The lobby will be opened at 11.00GMT, with the race starting at 12.00GMT.
Should you wish to participate in the event, you have to sign up in this thread, or by PM to me. Furthermore you have to attend at least one practice session, in order to prove yourself capable of driving clean and fair. There will be plenty of practice sessions to join before the event.

If you sign up, I expect you to be commited. Should something prevent you from joining, you need to PM me as soon as possible. Furthermore, I expect participants to stay up to date on rules, and to not quit the race under any circumstances. If you can't follow these simple rules, then don't bother signing up. I've had it with people who sign up, only to forget about it the next day.

Event info: This race shall determine once and for all, which one of these rivals are superior. Over the course of 41 laps, participants will have to find a balance between consistency and speed. Both cars are to remain completely stock, with the only changes allowed being oil, rims and color. Participants are free to choose between the Sport Hard/Medium tires. The race will have tire/fuel wear enabled, with grip set to real and slipstream set to low. Boost will be set to off. Rain will not be an issue.

Ferrari F430 Scuderia: With 503BHP being sent to the rear wheels of this mid engined Racing machine, the Scuderia is an improvement on the F430 in every way. Weighing in at a relatively low 1350kg's, the Scuderia is quick through the corners, and is sure to give any competitors a run for their money.

Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4: Known as the Baby Lambo, the Gallardo sends its 552 Horse power to all 4 wheels, allowing for quick and controlled acceleration from both the starting line, as well as out of any corners. Despite weighing only 1410 kg's, the Gallardo has managed to retain a luxurious interior, resulting in a very comfortable ride even when racing.

Rules and guidelines: In my events, you're off track as soon as you have less than two wheels on the track(Tarmac). Should you go slightly off track on rare occasions, it's nothing to worry about. However, if you go off track by more than a car width, I expect you to slow down, and re-enter. Of course you should always take care not to re-enter the track right in front of other drivers.

You will of course do your best to drive clean and fair. Should you be responsible for damaging another driver, you will escort him/her to the pits. If you obtain damage to more than one wheel, you are required to pit.

When driving without ABS, you are allowed to alter your Brake Balance. When driving with ABS, it has to remain at stock setting(5/5).

Sign me up and I think I'll use the Lamborghini Gallardo. Used the 430 for a endurance on the Nurburgring 24H so I'm going to try out the Gallardo. 👍

Hiya there, please sign me up.

GBRC tyrrell / GBRC_tyrrell / Ferrari (white, with blue wheels)

I'm in too. I'm going for the F430 Scuderia. I love the sound of it and it handles well too. It's going to be more then a challenge to compete with the gallardo.

atleet/DasKarl420 Gallardo (not sure yet, but probably. if I reconsider, I'll let you know)

Thanks for notifying me GBRC Tyrell.

We need more sign ups people! This event is too awesome to pass up.

I might get my flatmate to drive aswell, although we only have a single steering wheel set and driving with shifts in the same car seems more probable. Will let you know definetly because he isn't active on GTP.

Quite a good idea actually. Switch at Pit Stops. Keep you fresh toward the end of the race whereas us others will be experiencing extreme fatigue :dopey: haha

After switching from a controller to a force feedback-enabled steering wheel I do feel quite exhausted after a lap around the Nürburgring in a 550-650pp car...

But let's cut the OT short.

I would like to sign up, but I haven't decided on which car I should use though...

Do I sense a certain favorite car amongs the people? :dopey:

You could always limit the amount of each car, like 6 of each or something. Hate to race with 11 Kanchenjunga and 2 Ferraris.

Tip of the day: Lamborghinis autocorrects to Kanchenjunga.

Phew... Gave the tip of the day just two minutes before the day ended. What would I have done if I hadn't gotten my tip of the day.'

Yeah, I'm going to try and even the car selection out.

It doesn't really bother me which car to use. I have lost my garage and no longer possess any cars except a Lamborghini which was given to me just to compete for a race. Also, I have no cash to buy cars with. Booooo!

Pop your B Spec drivers online and add GTP_m8h3r. I'm going to start the grinder again tonight so you're more than welcome to participate 👍

Guilty as charged :sly: . Caught the grinders in action!

EDIT: Tempted to choose the Ferrari on just it's sound alone, but I'm assuming that this race will be a standing start, and the Lambourgini's will have the advantage. However, 4WD cars tend to understeer and this is where the Ferrari catches up...

Also Ferrari carries a good top end speed.

Mattie and I are going to do some practice for this event now. Feel free to join if you want. :)

Room number is 1472-6399-8494-1421-7254.

I'm interested in this and would be up for using the Ferrari but can you tell me what your regulations are on driving aids as i see you allow ABS? Don't want to start practising using TC for example only to find out it's not allowed! Thanks :)

All driving aids except ABS are disallowed. If you use ABS, then you must keep the stock brake balance. If you decide to go without it, then you can alter the brake balance as much as you like.

OK, well thanks for the quick reply but based on that i'll pass thanks! Just done a trial run in the ferrari (a car noted for it's incredible traction control system!) and with it switched off it just spins it's wheels far too much and slides far too much for my liking - it totaly kills what the F430 Scuderia is all about without TC but hey, your rules mate! Good luck with it all though, it's a good formula.

As MSTER said, only ABS is allowed. While it is true that most modern super cars come with TC and the like, it takes away from the amount of skill that drivers have to use. I like to keep my events as skill focused as possible. If it weren't for so many people using ABS, I'd have banned that as well. Though mostly because ABS is way too effecient in the game.

But can equaly cause unnecessary accidents! But like I say, your rules and I respect that hence why I won't commit to it, I just don't have the patience any more to deal with constantly spinning tyres, not fun in my book! :)

Fair enough. :)
Though you could use the Lambo. Only place that cars likes to whip you is at Eau Rouge. If not, then I hope you find another event to join. :)

Nearly 900 cars in my garage and 3 of them are Gallardos and yet I've never once used any of them. Shame, because it's a very good car! Thanks for pointing me towards it and on that basis count me in if that's ok ? And out of interest, what times are you guys achieving with both cars?

I think the time on SM is hovering somewhere between 2.20-2.30 minutes. And for SH, it's about 2.30-2.40. I drive without a HUD, so I can't see any of the times. :)

Feel free to join the current practice session. We are currently 5 guys in the lobby, doing some small races with the cars.

I have only managed 2.37 on SM with the F430, minus the Oil Change and that's definitely not an extra 10+ seconds. I think I may struggle with this one.
