Top 1000 Online Ranking & Extensive Stats

Finally, i've setup a (still secret) section on the Ranking to compare up to 5 players.
It is currently only accessible via this url on GT Planet and by editing the URL (by remplacing the names - keeping the resulting url then would be a good idea)

I have yet to find the right formula to calculate score, but it should do the job for now.

You should try contact PD, your work must be rewarded in some way.
 
amazing job man! My only qualm is when filtering through countries, it ranks it from 1-100 or whatever number. The old DB had it show your actual ranking relative to the global rankings. Why was it changed?

I had to remove it for some reasons, but i've just reactivated this two-rankings mode when a filter is on.
 
I've change the way the Score is calculated, in order that a player with only ONE time in a Top 5000 will have a score.
The Score algorithm fills the missing records for the player with its worst result in Top 5000, then reduce these values based on the number of missing records, before applying to a "100 pts max per board" rule.

I'll update the Leaderboards in around 10-12 hours from now with the 2 new round (as i do prefer to wait the boards to be quite stable, otherwise the auto-update could trigger an alert i've set up before to prevent sony's server bug to spread on mygranturismo.net datas)

Hi glvdwalt,
sorry i didn't answer to your MP (i've read it just before leaving the country for few days and forgot to check it again when back).
There's a country filter on overall tops (click on a country there to hide others), but it is technically not possible to do a Top 5000 with 5000 names from a given country for the same reason i've mentioned earlier in this thread (link).

Love your work. Just to let you know that I think Round 6-5 isn't updating correctly? My guess is they (PD) just introduced a new table rather than wipe the old and I think your grabbing data from the old one? I've tried on 2 machines so I assume it's at the database side otherwise I'll keep trying :).

Hey thats my name. Now i may have an actual reason to try hard in these rounds.
 
I would have been silly to use my PSNid as I even didn't play all round yet, and achieved just one time in Top 5000 :dopey: (which may be out of top since)

My PS3 is used 80% as a Media Server, 8% playing GT5, 1% playing other games, and 1% updating. The missing 10% includes unplug, move and plug the PS3, setting display and sound for the zillionth time, and install steering wheel. That last 10%, which even doesn't inlcude loading times, dissuade me to play 90% of times i'd like to play GT5 for a 20mn gaming session.
 
Nice work 👍; of course my (virtual) driving will never get me in a top 1000; I just get gold and I am content enough; bonus if I gold on first run :); best was maybe top 18000 in North America (I think that is the area of time comparisons?) :crazy:

Leaderboards have bring the whole website down, so i decided to shut them down while i find why this happened.
 
Cant believe this has not been tacked to the top of the forum or even mentioned on the main page. I finally got looking through this. This is an excellent resource. Sorting by country is great a feature to get an idea where you are before the final round. (Final round, I assume we will be able to short by country)
 
Official 6-5 board has been reset/changed again, it seems. mygranturismo.net will start to point to the up-to-date one on next update (updates occurs once per hour).
 
Is it possible to return data on how many entrants there are for each country? I'm not a top 1000 driver but I would still like to pat myself on the back knowing what percentage of the UK i am in.
 
I'm not sure to understand, could you be more specific (global ranking, specific to a board) ?
(keeping in mind that datas that can be processed are the Top 5000 entry of each board - for a total of 200 000 records)
 
Thanks for the response. So using the GT website, on 8-5 I can see I am position x out of 940k entrants. I can also see my position on the GB rankings, but I can't see how many GB entrants there are in total.

I was just wondering if your data source has the total number of entrants per country for 8-5 (and possibly the others)? No worries if it doesn't, it was just so I can say I am in the top x% of GB!
