F.I.T.T Tunes the Seasonal Beta - A-Spec 500PP FR Challenge June 6

Here's a tune for beating the Shelby at HSR.

Go to the New Car BMW Dealership.
Buy the Z4 M Coupe in the color of your choice.
Do not change the oil. Do not change the tires. Do not change anything.

Enjoy. :)

I beat the Shelby by 1.1 seconds.

This would also be an easy win on the other tracks, although R246 might be a challenge.

This tune is for the June A-spec FR 500PP seasonal on Tokyo R246. I was able to beat the Shelby with this 465PP tune, but a more skilled driver can probably go lower. If you do choose to run this tune at lower PP, you may also want to raise the final drive setting to keep the gearbox at its max effectiveness.

If you like this tune, feel free to post your feedback.

Heres some feedback. What were you thinking with those wheels? ;)

The same tune (bone stock) works great in the Fairlady Z (Z34) against the Shelby at HSR, but change to sport medium tires. I tried 4 times with sport hard and just couldn't quite catch the Shelby. The rear of this car is hard to catch once it starts sliding. It's certainly possible with SH tires but I just couldn't find the right balance of throttle and steering to get the car to rotate without sliding.

But with sport mediums it was more stable, not on a knife edge. Comfortable win of 2.5 seconds over the Shelby.

And the Silvia S15 from the NCD is a great car bone stock against the Shelby at CR. Again, just change to SM tires. No upgrades or oil change. This one took me 4 tries because I kept getting tangled with the slow cars. You don't have time to wait and if a car is parked on the apex you have to take a crazy line to get by and it doesn't work alot of the time.

But when I got my timing right of passing the backmarkers I beat the Shelby by 0.6 seconds.

And the FT86 Concept from the NCD against the Shelby at R246. Change tires only. Great run. Beat the Shelby by 2.5 seconds on my third try. First 2 times I went in the wall trying to pass slow cars in bad places.

I'm having fun "tuning" cars from the NCD by just using them bone stock. I'm not winning as much bonus money but it's all about the drive.

Are you posting your tune? If not, this post really belongs in the other thread for this seasonal.

Why haven't I driven this car sooner? I love this car. This tune is for the June A-spec FR 500PP seasonal on High Speed Ring. I was able to beat the BMW with this 450PP tune, but a more skilled driver can probably go lower. If you do choose to run this tune at lower PP, you may also want to raise the final drive setting to keep the gearbox at its max effectiveness.

Hami,

Great call on the Cobra. I had never even tried this car before! You're right, what a blast to drive, and plenty of accel!

This car did fine at Cape Ring. I took it to Autumn Ring and it couldn't quite keep up with its newer cousin, and boy was it sliding all over the track! Fun but a little crazy. Nothing like the Opera for example. I may experiment with the tune on this track, but I'm no expert in that arena.

Anyway thanks for the tune, I think I'll try a few others

So in the spirit of experimentation with this seasonal, I picked up the Amuse S2000 Street Version '04 straight out of the UCD tonight, popped some oil in it and took out to Autumn Ring. Coming in at 447 pp this seemed like right in the ballpark of what I would need on this track.

I didn't like the stock handling at all, way too much weight transfer issues through the incessant corners on this track.

So I tried my hand at tweaking the suspension to get a better ride, and I actually came up with something that drives really well and can beat this race. The car literally glides around the track. I was even able to lower the pp to 435 and still win. I might be able to take it even lower, and the faster drivers certainly will

In the spirit of sharing fun tunes, here's mine: (I did nothing but alter the suspension, stock tranny, stock LSD)

Amuse S2000 Street Version '04

263 hp / 1190 kg / 447 pp

Part: Sports Exhaust (came with car from UCD)

Suspension Settings:

Ride Height: -17 / -20
Spring Rate: 10.8 / 11.5
Dampers Ext: 7 / 7
Dampers Comp: 6 / 6
Anti-Roll bars: 3 / 3
Camber: 1.4 / 1/8
Toe: +0.03 / +0.17

Brake Balance: 4 / 6

------------

Tune 2: 249 hp / 1270 kg / 435 pp

Add Ballast: 80kg / 0
Power Limiter: 98.4%

Tomorrow I might experiment with the transmission :)

Given that I'm new at tuning, I'd be very curious to see how you expert tuners feel about this tune and if you have any recommendations for making it better.

Enjoy. Happy Racing!

Hami,

This car (Shelby Cobra 427) did fine at Cape Ring. I took it to Autumn Ring and it couldn't quite keep up with its newer cousin, and boy was it sliding all over the track! Fun but a little crazy. Nothing like the Opera for example. I may experiment with the tune on this track, but I'm no expert in that arena.

I had the same experience at Autum Ring. Not enough power to get the job done and a bit loose on entry. Could increase LSD decel a little to settle the car down a bit on entry, but chose not to because it was so fun to kick the back around a bit. I finally won this at 465PP against the Shelby Series One.

I noticed this thread has been inactive for a few months now. DON'T LET THIS DIE!!! I was just about to post that there should be a dedicated thread in the Seasonals and/or Tuning sections. Thank goodness I used the Search...haha.

Let's keep this going so all of us will have an easier time finding a committed place to find tunes for Seasonals and Time Trials when they come out each week. I realize that most cars that can be used (and there are many for each event) for the Seasonals are out there in many of the Tuning Garages, but sometimes the PP doesn't quite match up or they are not set up for the tire restrictions that PD has been putting in place lately.

This would be the perfect place for EVERYONE to find the perfect tune every single week.

Also, big ups to the Weekly Rewind from the News section for giving us the Tune of the Week. It doesn't always do it, but it has matched up with the Seasonals a few times.

Yes, I realize that there is the Seasonal section of the forum, but a few days after a new Seasonal is added there are 20 some odd pages of posts saying "I did it with such and such car and put up such and such time". That's not what I'm looking for. Paging through a billion posts saying half meaningless stuff is not efficient enough in my book. This here is more like it.
