Race Format:

Qualifying - All Week | Standard 3-Lap single runs viewed by fellow racer.
  • Racing Hard or Racing Medium tires may be used
  • TWO tires on track at all times
  • Lap 1 = Warmup Lap
  • Lap 2 = Hot Lap (this counts as your qualifying time)
  • Lap 3 = Cool down lap
  • Exit track only when instructed to
  • Qualifying deadline is 1:00 PM EDT August 18th
Note to people watching qualifying runs, I need the following information:
  • PSN Name of qualifier
  • Lap 2 qualifying time
  • Compound tire used during qualifying attempt
  • Notice of Clean or Dirty lap

  • Settings adjustment allowed BEFORE entering track
  • Only enter track when your name has been called
  • Once you enter track, you are NOT allowed to leave
  • Line up on track single file
  • Host will start the race when everyone is in line
  • NO HORNS!
Race - 60 minutes | Starts immediately after grid procedure.
  • You MUST start on the same compound tire you qualified on!
  • Rolling start - See procedure below.
  • Be careful entering Turn 1
  • Mid-race pit stop REQUIRED
  • Be courteous to other drivers
  • Wrecking other drivers will NOT be tolerated
  • HAVE FUN!

Not gonna lie, this seems like a spam post, why couldn't you just wait the 3 days that you say you are to post the info with the post instead of editing it in.

You're really not going to like me then. :lol:

My reason for using the power limiter is that this game's physics are not that great when it comes to high powered cars. If you slow the cars down, I think it makes for better racing and makes it feel a bit more realistic. 👍
 
I don't agree that the physics is worse with cars at or around the 550-600 mark. But I agree to some extent that the faster racing is too effected by poor aero/draft/drag coefficiant programming. The slower racing is much more pure imo if you get me. ;)

The problem I have with the use of too much limiter is that the powerband is way to unrealistic/different from the stock car. If we hadproper restrictorplates that reduce the output and torque over the entire powerband, I'd have no trouble at all with significant reduce of engine power..

But if you want to keep the power as low as possible, I'd recommend (too late now I suppose) to use the F430, drive it for 300 miles (until the oil is black). Then the car got a lower output, but the powerband is still "stock" in where and how the power is produced over the rev spectra.
I guess you could get the F430 down to around 460 bhp by doing this. And from there, you can use much less limiter to get it down to the level you desire.
This was a "crazy" idea I tested a few months back and it was successful. Only downside is that it's more of an effort to get the car to specs.. But not much more than your standard break-in sessions though..

Either way, I'll keep an eye on this! 👍

With this car you're looking at a drop to around 430hp. No idea on the exact percentage yet as my car isn't broken in.

- Tires TBD / Currently using Racing Hard

Power Limiter = Mine is currently at 74.7%. If you car is broken in, you'll want to limit it enough for max power to be 430hp.

Room is closed. I'll have everything posted by the time the clock runs down. I can say that we will be doing individual qualifying runs throughout the week and a rolling start.

With complete series. Spot races are easy to do because they only take up a single day or less. :)

i think 1 hour earlier or 2 hours later is fine with GATE. But don't change the schedule if i'm the only one from GATE who want to race ;)
