I've done my races and will submit my times shortly but;
I'm wondering if my Nascar inspired two car tandem run at the test course is allowable, I think it complies with the letter of the law but possibly not the spirit.

I mean getting up against the rear of one of the AI cars, then using the slipstream to pushing it forwards increasing your combined top speed, just like they do in Nascar, it's more efficient than the leap frog technique.

But never mind, I'll just re run it normal to avoid any debate.
 
Same thing here. On a Test Course NSX LM can barely reach 320 km/h but with usage of slipstream I can overtake opponent and then wait for him to overtake me again in order to repeat the procedure. This method will keep my speed above 330 km/h, which means that I'll have more advantage over the player who runs similar car but doesn't have chance to find equal AI opponent to perform slipstream technique.

Drafting is a fundamental part of this sport, of course you can, and should use it.
 
Matej, I have encountered the problem you were having with your NSX. I finally got my Lister into the Real Circuit Tours section for this season. It happens any time your a lap or more down.


This only applies to the following cars:
Honda NSX-R LM Prototype LM Race Car ('02)
Lister Storm V12 Race Car ('99)


1) You must only be one lap down at finish.
2) Take your last lap time or best if thats all you can see and add one second to that.
3) Add the ammended lap time to your total race time.
4) Post that time to me.

Well, somehow I have managed to complete the race (Tsukuba 15 laps, to be accurate) without being overlapped, is my time valid then ? Choosing the right AI grid is a key, try to avoid Sauber Mercedes, Toyota 7 or in general, the fastest models in the Group C class. This is the only circuit on which that can happen but it can be avoided with extra attention.

And I think I won't have enough time to run the series again with another car since I lost significant time to create 3 setups for NSX and also to reduce it's loose handling. :guilty:

I'll submit my NSX times by the end of the current week.

Loose handling is an understatement! Much less forgiving than some of the JGTC NSX's. It really didn't help that its downforce numbers are 25 and 35, either. With equal downforce to the other cars, it should be the fastest of the 500HP class. I think I spent more time tuning than actually racing! But nothing beats spinning that engine at over 10k RPM!!

Me too! Since you have two cars submitted and I'm likely to be busy, why don't you set up the challenge using Matejs format. We could either run it without engine upgrades or with, it would be fun either way.

If you go with engine upgrades we could just do the Dream Car section in the Extreme Hall.
 
Ok my times are in, I thought these races were a lot of fun.
I found the Rx7 to be a bit oversteery, but it was quick and its good on its tyres, R3's for all races was no problem, (I even used R4's for the 2 lap Sarthe race, and the test course).
The dream car races were easy wins, (except the test course; 2nd by 0.1) I even managed to lap the Toyota RSC at Seoul & Monaco.
Real circuit tours was the opposite, I won at Fuji & was ovetaken on the last lap literally at the last corner at both Tsukuba & Infineon, but I was never going to win any of the other races.
Still, driving the RX7 LM is a lot of fun, so thanks BH-21 for organizing the comp, I look forward to seeing the results.
 
My times are in, I also can't wait to see the results of my handiwork enhanced NSX !! Lot of time spent on tuning but I hope it will produce good results.

Yeah, maybe I was a little too gentle :sly:. I don't want to go to far to say that it's a trashy car but as a Le Mans car with NSX Type-R '02 template it surely is a disappointment. It grips the road like a train when it needs to, but it also oversteers when you least expect. Well, you need to adapt your driving skills which is the reason why I like this car. In addition, It looks and sounds good too !

If you need some extra downforce you can replace the current wing with some from the GT Auto gallery; downforce values will increase for significant margin. I don't want to use it though, as it ruins car's uniqueness and Kenwood's wing beauty.

Maybe we could share each other our setups to see how we're dealing with that hidden gem. :)

Congradulations to everyone, there were some very tight races. It was a great competition. THC118 was very consisten in both sections. Shotamagee really turned it on in Real Circuit Tours. Some tracks still give everyone fits, making for a good season.
 
Congrats to Thc118 for taking out the title, and congrats to everyone who competed, was some pretty close competition for quite a few of those races. Also, thanks again to BH-21 for hosting duties.
 
Thc118 definitely needs to receive a praise for its outstanding performance in NSX and for winning the most points. It was a good series, plenty of fun and close races. I hope we'll have another season in close future !

Thc118, or anyone else do you want to run Honda S2000LM race?

If not I have an idea of doing it as season three of GT, with two divisions.

A Turbo and NA divsion. An unupgraded engine season would likely be all family cup events. So I would use engine upgrades and the Dream Car series with some family cup events thrown in.

I probably should have entered in the Jaguar instead. The point difference would have been only 3 between 1st and 2nd, and 23 between 1st and 3rd. Oh well, it was a good season with some real tight races and convincing wins, shotamagee :@: Infineon, Suzuka, Tsukuba.

BH-21, I'm liking the sounds of Season 3 of GT. I did pick out a dozen races for the S2000, but I think it's better suited for one single longer race. We've had a lot of those lately, so if it is going to happen, it will happen after Season 3 of GT. There's a couple cars I'd still like to try out.
 
@Thc118: I just tried your setup on Seoul Central Reverse, and although it feels too rigid for my taste time to time, I must say that I'm quite surprised with shown stability during high speed braking. You did something with few clicks that I couldn't do with thousands of them, and the result is even more painful for me; around -0.500-800 sec difference with your setup on first shot. What can I say, nice job 👍...

@BH-21: S2000 race is a very interesting innovation (cup races (!!!), I totally forgot about those micro Lupo cars - nice idea ;)) but either challenge is good for me. In GT Season 3, I would also like to grab my hands on Corvette or Viper.
 
Nice compilation, be free to sign me in anytime but first, I have some questions to ask:

1.) Division two says (Non-Aspirated); does that mean that we should upgrade S2000 with NA level 3 or that we should keep it stock ?
2.) In case someone takes both divisions; does that mean that both divisions should run all listed events or NA division should run only Family Cup events ? I'm asking that because in post#108 there was some statement that might collide with current rules, so just in case.

And this time I would also like to form a new team called Blueberry Motorsports.

Looking for a team mate :).
 
NA level 3. Both divisions use engine upgrades to work with the dream car events.

You can take one car, buy both engine upgrades. Run all events with Turbo upgrade, submit times. Switch engine upgrade to NA 3 and run all events again then submit. Your running every track with one or the other engine upgrade route, or both. Its up to you which divsion or divsions you want to be in.

P.S. I will be happy to team up and join Blueberry Motorsports.
 
Ok, thanks for clarification. I'll probably run those races with NA upgrade first, so that I can progressively accommodate to hp and torque difference.

Having said that, I'll confirm my participation so you can sign me in with number #93, NA (Non Aspirited) division for a start.

And welcome aboard BH-21, glad to have you here. :)
 
A spec car racing series with all of these awesome racers?
I really wish the pedal sliding assembly wasn't taking so long.
 
Don't worry I'll enter, I just wanted to check the car out with both engine tunes before announcing anything.

One more thing; does the Grand Valley and Suzuka stands for Grand Valley Speedway and Suzuka Circuit, the longest versions ?
