As has been said- TOCA, WSC, Sprint Cup (+nationwide?), Trucks, Super Touring, ...and VLN. Don't think there'll be any IndyCar, since Peelster has started a similar IndyCar and Indy Lights series to what we had before.

Furi definitely has plans for Sprint Cup.

I'd consider doing IndyCar again for GT6 but not sure at the moment; Peelster did ask me and I said he was fine to go ahead with a series because I don't have anything planned for GT5.

Sprint Cup would be great.

I'm sure we can all get SC sorted out as a group once GT6 is released anyway; we needed a break and we've got one, till the end of the year.

Indy Car again would be awesome 👍

Who can forget.......

Since GT6 will have all the cars and tracks from GT5, it should be easy enough to do. We'll just have new physics to deal with (tyres, aero, suspension). Hopefully we'll get a new oval too, whether it's on-disc or in the monthly car+track DLC.

Yeah, that was an absolutely epic race Nel; don't worry about it, it'll almost definitely be back with GT6, it's too much fun for me to refuse. Plus I'll have more time on my hands over the next year.

EDIT: And yeah Joe, it should be relatively simple. There's also still most of us hanging about on the forums so we'll have a good core group to expand from with the inevitable newcomers.

Core group is what held TOCA and FRL together these past couple years.

I hope that the announcement is a positive one not Furi announcing that he won't be holding any series on GTP anymore

All to be revealed in the FRL thread on saturday. See my link in sig, surprised at lack of attention.

OP Title updated. All i'll say for now.

Announcement confirmed approx 10pm BST :) And it's a biggie :)

There will be 3 future series announcements for sure.

No. five series at least to be talked about though :)

Major new announcements due tomorrow night 👍

Wait for the poetic symphony this time tomorrow....

Bit of both there :) - news approx 8pm tonight.

Bought forward to 7pm.

FRL-Furi's Race Leagues-Tonight 7pm-The Future Revealed.

I'm going to take a guess and say Furi has an announcement. Tonight.

And what are the odds that he'll repost it any chance he gets and plaster everyone's walls with this thread?

FRL - The Future.

It's been a heck of a long haul for me in GTP and racing over the past two and a bit years, and I have enjoyed most of it thoroughly. We've had some major variety as well - TOCA has been a massive success with bumper to bumper touring car action, NASCAR Trucks have provided some of the closest most hard-fought oval action ever, and the WSM and WSC have been a test of driver skill and endurance in 60's classics.

So what is this today about? It's about the future. Earlier this week, Gran Turismo 6 was announced for a holiday 2013 release, and it looks stunning. Silverstone is in, all the current GT5 tracks are included, speculation abounds that Bathurst and Brands Hatch are also making there way in. It looks amazing, and I will be getting it, as I am sure many of you will on the PS3. FRL will race on in 2014 as a result. Right now, these last few months I have sometimes lost motivation and desire to run this though. So many arguments, bad nights, my own extremley busy private and study life... it's stacked up and taken a toll. So it's time to make plans.

I'll start with the GTP NASCAR Truck Series and the whole GTP NASCAR scene. Trucks may be in it's 6th season now, but I consider it it's 3rd in it's current form, since it became a Chevrolet Silverado 1-make and we introduced cautions, teams, and the current format. It's shown there is still life in GT5 - after 4 weeks, 28 drivers have already attempted to compete in races. It is phenomenal the level of competition. The other two GTP NASCAR series have died out. Nationwide had good racing but was doomed by its timeslot. Sprint Cup I originally started but under the leadership of MustangRyan, became a huge scale monster I would have never foreseen - incredible competition. It was that scale that perhaps resulted in it falling after a 4th season, with no-one prepared to take on it. I had considered a reboot - indeed I have a calendar, and specifications sorted - but I think it's better it gets restarted with the arrival of GT6, a new kickstart. It is for that same reason that the current truck season, Season 6, will be the last one. The final survivor of GTP NASCAR, should end on a glorious high.

However, I am not finished with ovals... IROC was over a year ago - two seasons featuring some of the top drivers from GTP series in a half-oval, half road course series. And with the end of GT5 drawing near, and many new faces having appeared, it's coming back. Not to mention that the Camaro now no longer sounds a lawnmower - it's a proper V8. IROC III will be a similar format to the previous series - 2 races per night, half oval / half road course schedule, and a few extra elements such as cautions. Also it will be an invite-only series. IROC III will land after the current WSC season is concluded.

Oh wait, WSC? Ahh yes. Grown out of the WSM sportscar series this championship has just gone on and on and on. The current season kicks off next week, with races from 90 minutes to over 3 hours... yet it remains a relaxed environment, almost gentlemanly as people don't go crazy and stupid in these events. It's the championship I enjoy the most, and potentially may have 1 more season in it after this one.

That leaves saturdays... T8CA is into the second half of the season, more on that later, but I reckon for once FRL should try modern GT racing on saturdays. GTE Series is landing soon - 5 cars, 5 tracks, 2hr Endurance events. Cars are close in testing, the racing will be intense across a GTE Pro and a GTE Am category. Here are some promo images for GTE - Grand Touring Endurance, coming soon to saturdays on FRL.

And finally, no FRL announcement could go without TOCA. The originals series I created, went from a small-time championship for a few saloon car drivers to a regular full grid, high stakes intense battle. TOCA always has the craziest drivers, the maddest racing, all because of how close the competition is. Even after a break of months, from season 5 onwards it has grown. T8CA is near the end, but I will be having a final round. It was always planned, in fact it was worked on more than T8CA, hence why that thread was maybe not as detailed as Season 7... but I will leave you with a teaser what will 100% be the final saturday league on Gran Turismo 5 of the FRL - TOCA9.

Goodnight! Furinkazen, FRL founder :gtpflag:

So as a quick question, you're not using the IROC-Z as planned and are going back to the SS?

All looks great though, good calls all round.
