After I complimented Kev on the sweet OP pics, he told me that none of the alternate wheels looked good, so that's why he stuck with the hubcaps. I think I found a combo that looks better than hubcaps. ;)
I *may* have messed with the contrast a bit, because Laguna's lighting is a bit weird. :irked:

15min of lapping gave some better splits:

27.871
26.234
22.033

...and an average final sector, which will be cleaned up later. Cheers again, Chris & Matt for those tips earlier. 👍

Yep, those are the same ones that I am using. Looks like we have the same taste. ;)

I've always wondered, do any of you change the RA functions (TC, BB, Torque Split, etc.) during the lap? I know over the course of a longer race, I'll sometimes change BB as the fuel lightens, but does anyone play with changing the settings for certain corners?

Nice, Mitch. Let's see a pic. :P

It's certainly been done, but not that often I'd guess, and I'm not sure where you'd do it on this track.
Somebody here was talking recently about changing the BB back and forth on every lap, and I did it a while ago in the Subaru at Madrid,
but the red R/A wheel on my DFGT barely works anymore, so not worth it for me personally.

Not here (yet) but I have in the past and did with the Ferrari at the 'Ring. I have the DS3 mapped for doing RA functions and just leave my G27 for steering duties since I don't have the H-pattern shifter set up.

This car drives like ship, its got terrible understeer, I'll sit this week out ;). Mike looks like you love this car, 29,000 miles on it

This really isn't worth it, but I'm going to say it anyway.

It's a 50 year old car. Radial tire technology wasn't even commonly used when this car was built.

You might learn something from driving on Comfort tires, in a car with less than ideal characteristics. You might also come to appreciate how far automotive technology has progressed in the last 50 years.

Or, you can just throw out every stereotype that exists for an American car from this era, moan about the understeer and skip out of the thread.

BTW, his car probably has 29,000 miles on it due to being a standard car from the used car dealer. Some of those come with more than 100k miles.

I'm in a similar situation. I got my G27 a few months ago but still haven't set up the shifter. Maybe I should just map the DS3 also in case I never do... How do you have yours mapped, Jon?

If someone has a full power car left, I'd appreciate it very much to have one sent to me 👍 I can't get my Vette to go past 257 bhp...

What I have highlighted is very true. I already have picked up on a few things just in the short amount of time I have put into this so far. Some things about the track which I have never noticed or paid attention to. 👍

@manumanu19: I have learned that there is a reason behind the Stewards madness into putting together these combos...and its just not about putting a cool car on a cool track. I may be wrong, but from what I have experienced, these combos are put together with a reasoning to improve our skills and to learn throttle control, braking, ect. You really shouldn't be so quick to judge and sit down and have a proper go with the car and give it a chance. You never know, you might come out of it with a new found respect for the car, which I have many times before. So, come on in and enjoy the fun, you never know what could come out of the experience.

I won't be home from work until about 18:00 EDT (22:00 GMT). If you still need one send friend request to GTP_Patrick1. Car is broken in with only 200 miles on it. If I see the friend request when I log in to my PS3 tonite, I will send.

Just saying again, I too have a car on share, fully broken in, if anyone still needs one. I can't send one out till after reset, in about 6 1/2 hours from now. At that point, I'd be happy to send someone the car.

I might be home tonight. You can send one my way if its broken in.

Picked it up from the UCD with the miles already on it, this is the first time I've driven it. The trick with the understeer is to invoke brake release oversteer. Brake early for the turns and release the brake just before the turn in, no trail braking with this one else you just go in a straight line.

I've been fiddling with 5/6 and 4/6 BB but 5/6 seems to work and the best shift point seems to be 5500-5800.

It is a bit of a barge but oddly addictive once you get over the initial handling characteristics

Friend Request sent.

Car sent Andrew 👍

Thank you guys  I got one from Majed :)

Good point guys, I tried it and picked up a few tricks to go fast around there with this car, Ill try it again later in the week to see what times I can post :) Its true you do learn a lot with tough cars on comfort tyres but I'd prefer it have more oversteer then its a practice of throttle control. Here I guess its precision and timing, so Ill give it a go whenever I can. Meanwhile I did have fun watching TopGear bash American cars ;)

Not sure off the top of my head Dan as I did it ages ago and now I just press buttons and the right stuff happens - will take a closer look later and PM you

Throttle control is required for this as well, it's just a little more subtle in manifesting itself 💡

Great splits going up - Mj, great 1st sector mate. Nice going too there Bart. 👍

Well we didn't go today after all.... Its only a trip down to Derbyshire to see some family and go for a suit fitting for my youngest brother's wedding but everything went to pot today and it looks like we're now only going down for the weekend. On the plus side, I got to have another bash with this beauty:

27.645
26.174
21.772

Best 1st sector tonight was 27.572... its one of those combos were its hard to say what the limit is. You can push this thing harder than I first thought. 👍

Nice 2nd sector Praiano 👍

Check your giftbox Brandon, 'Vette has been sent. I took the liberty of installing a power limiter on it for you. Good luck this week Brando. 👍

Lol thanks Mitch. I just need to get home to run some this week. In 2 days I've driven roughly 1,075 miles and looks like I'm going to come up about 50 miles short of making it home tonight before I run out of hours to drive.

Good luck this week everyone. Thanks again for the car Mitch. I'll get you back soon.

First splits. Getting a feel for the car.
