I was just about to report that hybrids were broken, but I was beaten to it. Guess this is just a repeat of 2.12... Don't worry PD, someone on NGU will find yet another way to hack the game...

I hope it gives them a more difficult time of finding out how. That'll show em.

WOW!

You hackers are lucky PD didn't lock you out of their servers. If they altered your garage, you know they know who you are.

I'ts a great day for online racing.

I guess I could have held my breath!!!

They wouldn't have personally gone into people's garages and snooped around. All that was required to create hybrids was changing one single byte of code in the save data, PD probably just created a simplish code that reads that one particular byte of data as it's default setting, and not accept changes to it. It's all they would have needed to do to block out hybrids as that was the only way of being able to create them in the first place.

I guess drifters are not valued community members. Sad, because most of the room I saw online were drift rooms.

If their software updated your garage, why wouldn't it tell the company it did so?

Wonderful. I'm right in the middle of a 9 hour race at Tsukuba thrashing a Miura to ribbons and Kaz tells me I now need to update to 2.15.

Can't stop now. Update will have to wait.

What's new? El Capitan?

Edit: OTOH - can't wait; not going to wait three years again to update. Quitting Tsukuba.
2.15, here we come. :)

There was another change to the PP system, some cars will be over or under seven points, along with removing hackers. I tested some tunes that praiano63 suggested to me today. When I went through the testing the car I used was at 550pp and 100% power its now at 557 at 100% power.

I'm sorry miss read the numbers, the car is no at 576 pp.

What do you mean, is it due to the hacked cars? If so big deal, move on.

Drifters could (and did) run rooms quite a lot before hybrids; I can't imagine they'd stop now, just as they didn't the first time hybrids were patched out.

Because locking people out of a game with a sequel on the way in 40-odd days is a great way to ensure sales

PD wouldn't have had to go through a single garage; there has always been (er, hypothetically) a fairly easy way of disallowing hybrids. This new patch may do it, it may not. But it's doubtful they bothered looking into anybody's garages; they just cleaned up their messier bits of code.

I'ts a great day for online racing.

Like a great many things, that depends on perspective.

I'll still be here hybrids or not.

Hell if anything it makes the game new again. I mean, all the patch is doing is taking the 4 rotor out of my RX7. So I am not really that disappointed.

Instead of being mysterious about it, why don't you just name the car so we can check for ourselves.

 Sorry mate, Audi R8 4.2 full kit stage 1 motor no turbo's was at 550 now at 576, an increase of 26 points.

Slight change my:censored:, there was a big change in the PP system. Cars are even more closer than before, street cars have more of a tighter group as long the cars are built correctly. Race cars in the area of GT class are closer now as well. Noticed when I seen the R35 TC and the Corvette ZR1 RM only 3 point off from each other and it was due to aerodynamics. Both cars have no parts added for extra power. The ZR1 is bone stock, no ECU, Air filter, Sport Intake nothing added. Haven't looked at the GT500 or 300 class just yet. LMP and C class I'll look at tomorrow.

Addition:
I'll look at the smaller RM as well tomorrow.

Not all are reset, still possible to have custom ratio on stock transmission :) no gear whine is always a good thing. Will investigate further.

My hoodless Impreza from pre 2.11 still has the engine exposed.

I looked through my garage at my specific PP tuned cars (200+@420pp, 50+ 500pp), not one single car has changed it's PP? Every car is still rated at the same PP that I tuned it for before 2.15.

Like most updates that affected the PP levels of cars, you'll probably have to hop in the cars to get an update. It's been a while so my memory might be fuzzy, but I'm pretty sure I still have cars in my garage that have their rating from when the system was introduced!

Not me man, I'm finally calling it quits :( .. Not updating until I or someone finds a way around it, spent too much time in the past.. Oh well though, have GTA V, Borderlands 2 special events and BF4 Beta until GT6 comes out. Guess it's time for a break from GT5..

I'll just remind myself not to update my GT5 to 2.15.

Such a shame that GT6 is less than 2 months away and they still announced this system maintenance in GT5 that only leads to a possible final update, which is 2.15 for the game and how it made everyone else disappointed.

Although I have enjoyed the hybridding aspect very much, if this is what it takes to make everything fair again as far as the online events go and such, then I'm all for it. I haven't yet updated (just woke up not long ago) but when I do, I will surely miss my hybrids. I have a feeling this is not the end of the hybrids though. Someone figured out a way around it before, so I'm sure they will do it again. Such is life in the world of gaming.

Maybe it was just a break-in effect haha
I didn't look at the PP ratings of any car, I just went on GT5 to see what the update did. What car were you using?

Not all gets reset, for example my custom ratio still intact on stock transmission. Steering angle seems to be unaffected, if you know coding, only a portion of car data are affected. A workaround might be possible soon.

Will spend some time tinkering again :) So far in game checks are done in car display and tuning page. I managed to install hidden parts but do not stick for long, mmm, interesting.

What bugs me is the way this is handled. Very, VERY, few people intended to cheat. Let's face it, that wears out quick.

What most people did was find a way to make the experience better for them. The effort they put into repairing the exploit could have been put into a proper implementation of the desired features.

All that was being asked for was
1 - More adjustment of suspension
2 - More power and/or the same upgrades for every car (turbos, etc)
3 - a level playing field on grip (which is what the chassis swap really does)

The problem is that the system puts grip in the chassis rather than in the tires, so if I have something like the cobra, it's assembled as if it's running on bias ply tires. In other words, it drives like crap. If I swap tires, all the game does is make that crappy grip somewhat better. However, the presentation to all players is that the tires are equal and fair, but they are not.

They break the first rule of game design, which is to make a great toy and let the player explore. Instead, they are increasingly restricting play.

C'mon, we all roll our eyes when someone brings one of the easy cars into a room. All the NSX/LFA/M3CSL/111R/HSC drivers. Why allow for 100 favourites when you only need 5? :P

What is going to be different in GT6? If you get the cars mentioned above, you don't need the rest of the game. Better looking replays isn't worth $60

bah:grumpy:

Well I think us been through this before .....

But........ the detail is that the teacher who allowed us to use and create HYB,
is not online at the moment, he's this in the new world of GTA V,
and from what I know he will come back only in December for the GT6,
then, not to be a guy who brings the bad news, :scared:

The time of HYB already ended sadly just "I think" :(

I pray to be wrong, and that our fellow be able to circumvent this update.

But, the very short time and less than 2 months for the GT6,
I hope that there is still some motivation to break another update.

I did, that's the thing. I entered the setup screen and car viewer for many cars and all of them stayed at the same PP, whether they were light, heavy, full of or lacked torque, FF, FR, MR, RR or 4WD. The only cars that changed were my hybrids being reset.

^
Same here, no change to the PP on many cars I checked (except for the hybrid part - didn't have any.)

The only significant change was the sudden filter on the Top 256 Board for TT#73. Certain cars disappeared.
