Is Your Car in Gran Turismo, and Does Your Car Deserve to be in GT5?

I think my car deserves to be in GT5 cause as far as I know, an 81 Chevy Malibu has never been in any video game and I think it would be cool for one to be in there cause they are lightweight for their size and handle fairly decently. I wouldn't care if they did a two door or a four door, I'd still be happy! linky: http://www.cardomain.com/ride/3041942

+1

I agree 100%.

Mondeo wise.....

Prodrive 1999 Mondeo BTCC has to be.

I was thinking more along the lines of a car that you/a friend actually own, rather than just a wishlist of cars in general? Say for example you own a 600bhp Supra (I don't mean just jpn either), something along those lines? Also something that would be worth PD actually modeling and adding to the line up?

I think my car still fits along those lines

something like a mazda 3 mps.? like a 2 litre turbo. its ff though, though it does put quite a bit of pwer. am driving the mazda sp23. which is a 2.3l sequential, and it handles darn well nicely. =)

Evo vs. Ultima GTR = Ultima win
Andrews epically tuned cheating ariel whites 12 trillion bhp evo on gtr vs. ultima = fail

Polyphony had already started doing that. the winner of the SEMA show gets an automatic entry into the next GT. I'm looking forward to the guy that won with the 60 Corvette. Always wanted to run a scoopside.

there is allready an extensive list, and every vehicle ever made appears to be on it, including Soviet cars!

I don't honestly believe my Ute deserves to be in there, as it did nothing historical, and wasn't an all important model for Holden, but I could easily think of 20-50 other Aussie cars that do deserve to be in there.

Maybe not your paticular ute but a ute or two from Ford and Holden would be nice.

Two of my cars should (one was in GT2) and the other two shouldn't.

I don't think a car "deserves" to be in any game really. My parents have a mid-1990s GMC Safari, my brother had a Mazda B2100 from 1990, who's to say that any car DESERVES to be in any game? Also glad you've stereotyped wanting to see someone's tricked out Honda Civic. Real classy...

The people who dream of seeing their cars being raced by other people would be those who created some hot cars. For example, I'd be more than interested in seeing certain Japanese and North American cars used in Time Attack (the term I'll use for this kind of event). I read the latest "Sport Compact Car" magazine back on Saturday, and a car that won the Time Attack at Long Beach. Funny enough, it's in Unlimited FR when the car is clearly mid-engined. A front-engined NSX is absolutely rare. Last time I seen a front-engined NSX was when one drag racer converted a mid-engined NSX to a front-engined NSX to perform better. This was back in the late 1990s or early 2000.

Anyhow, most of the dedicated performance tuners would love to see their cars represented. As for those of us who are just trying to go about life and drive around town, there aren't very many of us that want to see our cars represented and that any will really be introduced. I just don't know about deserved. Oh, I almost forgot... some of the ones who have the sports cars and high-end sports cars would love seeing those cars featured. That's for those who have Ferraris, Maseratis, Nobles (just to add diversity), Ascari, and stuff like that. But again, I don't really think a car DESERVES to be in any game. That's unless you specifically focus on a certain nationality or brand of car.

My car deserves to be on GT5, because pretty much noone knows about it, while it actually is among the best of the bunch.

Check the wishlists for BMW 3-series. What do you see?

...
316i
318i
320i
325i
328i
M3
...

I never ever saw my car on a wishlist: the 323i. It always slips through, noone ever notices it. And that's so wrong, because that's the very reason it is a good car. Here's why:

BMW decided for the E36 range they need a model between the 320i and the 325i. So they created the 323i. Despite its name, it has 2.5 liters of displacement and shares the engine block with the 328i. The 325i also has 2.5 liters, but has the block from the previous model (E30). So they faced the problem of the 323i having a more sophisticated engine than the 325i. Therefore, they detuned the 323i a little to fill the gap in terms of performance. In real life, the car often has more than the officially stated 170 hp (has been dyno'ed with 180+ hp stock). And with a little bit of work here and there (intake, exhaust, electronics), you can easily surpass the 325i and catch up to the 328i.

I know this probably just ist boring technobabble for you, but for me, the 323i clearly is the sleeper of the bunch, and therefore, it deserves to be in GT5.

JohnBM01, I think perhaps you've mis-interpreted the point of my question, which could be wholly down to the way I've phrased the title? Perhaps 'deserved' was a tad strong. I was merely asking if there was anyone out there who may have thought that they had a car that they felt was special, that with their car being included in the line up would bring something to the game and introduce a car that we all could enjoy driving. Someone may own a car that would be interesting in the line-up instead of 5 gazillion variations of Skyline. I wasn't knocking the Civic; an Escort, a Peugot 106, any car manufacturer/model that I quoted could have been misconstruded to appear as though I was stereotyping, sorry if it appeared that way. I meant as a light hearted thread to hear about peoples rides in general that they take pride over. A friend of mine owns a factory standard Ford Escort MkII RS2000, which despite not being exactly quick by today's standards is a beautifully poised car and we've had loads of fun with it down country lanes etc. enjoying the way it handles. This was the gist of what I was after :)

I'm honestly hoping that this car is in there:

http://www.factoryfive.com/whatsnew/showevent/cheneygtm/report.html

Now, before this goes into a wish list of sorts, I'll point out that he took second in the Gran Turismo Overall at SEMA 07. He took first in SEMA "Best Domestic"

http://www.factoryfive.com/whatsnew/community/cheney/gtm.html

So, hopefully we'll see this in GT5. Mr. Cheney is currently building a new GTM, that he's taking to the SEMA 08 show and entering in the Gran Turismo competition again.

Even though my car has no place in a racing game it's already been in GT4 and I think it deserves to be in GT5 too, if only as a subject of making fun. Bring back the Volvo 240 (perhaps as the Turbo) and this time give it proper specs, we might even be in for a surprise.

1991-1995 Saturn SC2, with the twin-cam 1.9 and 5-speed they are quick! I think they look pretty cool, 'specially with the flip up lights. Heck, it would be nice to get Saturn in general.

Absolutely.

While I am definently a bit biased to the SHO Model Taurus the car had MANY first. It was also at the top of everyones list when it debuted in late 1988.

In 1989 The Taurus SHO was the most powerfull Production FWD car ever made.

When the SHO came out it cost 30,000 Dollars less then a BMW M5 and was just as fast.

In many aspects, It was also America's first attempt at what Europe had to offer as far as performance sedans.

The Yamaha 220 Horsepower was truely ahead of its time, Ecspecially with 220 horsepower yet being able to attain a 7300 RPM redline and get 26+ MPG. The HP/Liter number was pretty amazing back then for a N/A 3.0 Liter V6. Keep in mind, From 1989 to 1998 the SHO as much/more horsepower then the Mustang GT.

Most people don't know what a SHO is and for the most part the ones you see on the road are ill mantained and ragged out Piles of crap, As is life. The car has already made a appearance in Gran Turismo 2 and 4 but that was the generation 3 with the 3.4 Liter V8....and well...Those arnt exactly the SHO's to brag about, They were a lot slower then the V6 models with a 5 speed. Anyways, Thats my opinion. I am sure many will be horrified by it.

Oddly enough, Before Gran Turismo 4 had come out a few members from polyphony contacted a member from SHOforum and a few members with each generation (Generation 1, 2 & 3) All were sound clipped and and mapped before the release of the game. For some reason, The Gen III was the only one to make the cut. I assume this is becuase Polyphony already had a model from Gran Turismo II.

Nice SHO, and I agree that most SHO's are in crappy shape as I have seen a few around where I go to school. My fave would have to be a first gen in black with the 5-speed, though not the rims pictured on the Car and Driver picture.

1993 300E mercedes benz with 3.2
Sure, Old body Merc, with newer engine. Only made for one year, after that they change the body a bit so it's a rare beauty of OLD mercedes tank car look. :)

Pretty darn fast too, and It's build like a tank, And the E series from late 80s early 90s are considered to be best cars in the world. SO yeah It deserves to be in GT5

Well they have my car in Forza 2 but GT5 cause replace the nissan privia with my nissan altime 2.5 or 3.5.

3.5 gives it full power! Would love to have it in the game.
