Yeah you all think its a chav's car but it was the best selling supermini in the UK for like 3 years and it looks the business, particularly the quarter rear angle view. The new one looks like someone melted an astra in the microwave, the interior is cramped and too buzy plus the car looks so girly and curvy is unbearable!... even the VXR version looks horrible.

The 03 Sxi comes with carbon effect high backed smoked rear lights which on the black saffire paint (which I have) makes it look like it has no rear lights. The front lights reminded me of a Porsche Carrera GT's and was one of the reasons I bought it.

See the very loose resemblance :sly:

The car is very driveable and handles well the only problem is the quality of the gearbox aint all that!. Anywho its got a nice clean VW style interior and as its Opel / GM it has quality german parts.

I think it should be in Gran Turismo 5 because the Opel 1.4 Corsa C (pre facelift) was in GT4 and it would make sense to keep the model, add the face lifted bits and up the textures but Im worried they may just move straight to the Corsa D...

I had a PM asking if it was an RS500 - nothing quite so fascinating, I'm afraid. It's an '07 Mondeo ST220. The only Ford Europe car in the last 20 years I can find with more power is the Escort RS Cosworth (227hp) - though I believe Ford are due to update the Focus ST with a 260hp mill (from 222hp) and the Mk4 Mondeo ST should share that engine. The current Focus ST and last Focus RS both beat it to 60mph, but neither reach the same top speed (nor does the Escort RS Cosworth).

Noice 👍 I was thinking it may have been an ST220 when you spoke of the most powerful Ford production car, but then I thought "nahhhh, can't be". Incidentally the upcoming Focus RS will obliterate that title when it gets given around 290bhp. Anyway, I like the ST220, it's a good looking car. You obviously like your V6s! Have you made a thread with any pics of your MX-3 then? Having the last one is pretty cool.

Anyway, I reckon the ST200 would be a nice addition to the game too. Not that I own one:

The replacement Focus ST and the new Mondeo ST are both alleged to share a 260hp variant of the current Volvo-sourced 225hp 5 cylinder, so she'll lose the crown next year in any case. I'm told the Focus RS you speak of is supposedly still FWD. With 290hp. Madness.

Anyway, ask and I shall provide... :D

Your plate on your MX3 honestly says Famine?.

That would be awesomely illegal over here

I had it for a track day we went on. I figured there'd be lots of people taking photos, so not much control over what got out. So I slapped a pair of "Famine" plates over the real ones. Most people laughed and said it was "sad". Then taped up their own number plates... :D

That shot is actually Milford Cubicle driving.

What about one of those prototype compressed air cars that get 320km to a $3 tank of air?

I think if a Prius made it into 2 and 4, an air car should be in 5.

I own a car with the smallest capacity V6 for the world market (and the last example of it ever sold in the UK), the fastest and most powerful production Ford Europe car in the last 15 years and an MX-5. I'd struggle to argue against any of them.

There's one comma, and I didn't notice it after the brackets and (in your original post) at the end of the line.

I did, and you quoted it.

What about some subaru foresters! The xt is turbo and awd would be a good car. And preferably the newest model they look awesome and drive even better!

Do you own a Forester? Or are you just suggesting one should be in the game? I'll refer to Famine's comment above:

Wishlists? We have plenty of them. This isn't one of them - keep it that way.

The topic title is "Does Your Car Deserve to be in GT5?"

-> This is like an essay version of the wish list on the car that you (or used to) own. I don't see any offense by it. I think its fun in a way.

It'sa good thread and a nice idea, but it's best if it doesn't turn into an actual wishlist, and people keep it for cars they actually own and genuinely think deserve a place in GT5 :D Which is why my car isn't here :P

Well my old car (Sign.) was in GT4 but they couldn't match its handling like real life.
Anyways, i'd rather see the bigger brother RS4 05'

There seem to be a lot of members here , so I just want to ask a simple question : Is your own personal car in any of the GT series games , and if it is , what is it ? Just curious to see what all the " racer gamers " drive . I have 2 vehicles in the series , both from GT4 , a Dodge Ram 2500 4x4 ext.cab , and my wifes car , a Hemi 300 C . What about you guys / girls ?

Nope. I have a Fiesta. Never been in GT. Closest I've got was the Ka.

I have however driven vehicles that have been in GT, namely the MX-5, Ka, PT Cruiser and Mini Cooper.

Dont own a car yet, lol.

However, my mother's Renault Laguna was in GT2 and I have known several people who owned Ford Focus's (GT2, 3 and 4) over the years.

My car is in the game and so are my rims. 350z/Volk GTS
You can see my rims currently on the tuned Evo X. But they have crappy offsets, no big lip in the rear like my car, hope it will have a lip when installed on the Z in the game..

No,

my currect personal car (Fiat Grande Punto) haven't been in any GT series. Closest have been the Punto HGT Abarth in GT4.

Three door version of the car was in the Need for Speed game (Most Wanted if I remember right).

I got some hope that it will make it to the GT5, because there was a bunch of Fiats in GT4. 👍

I really love the "Maserati" look of the front of the Punto. Got to hope it will make it to the GT5. :sly: Otherwise I will have to drive the Punto Abarth in GT4.

I think this one deserves to be in GT5 because I've heard that it have been pretty popular in Europe (I'm not sure about the rest of the World) I'm sure everyone (would love) love to drive their own cars in Gran Turismo.

By the way the Grande Punto have made it's depute in Need for Speed Most Wanted. I'm not a big fan of NFS series. A bit too arcade for my taste.

The Grande Punto is a nice car but I wouldn't expect to see the 1.3 multijet in GT5 and probably not the 5dr either... if they were going to use a diesel one it'd more likely be the 1.9 Sporting.

I have, but i don't really want to see one in GT5. ;)

See that's honesty :sly:

Yes, I think I can live with it :) I will be very happy if it will make it to the GT5(no big deal about the doors or size of the engine)

Hahhah, true true!

It was in GT2 and GT4, so including in GT5 seems to be a 50/50 proposition. Of course, it always had the 3.0L twin-turbo (2JZ-GTE) motor in the games, so I don't expect the NA version, since it would be a bit too slow for a Gran Turismo game. I also can't complain about the understeer, since it is fairly true-to-life.

Deserving of inclusion in GT5? Yes, based on prior history. But if it misses the cut, I wouldn't be too shocked.

My car deserves to be on GT5, because pretty much noone knows about it, while it actually is among the best of the bunch.

Check the wishlists for BMW 3-series. What do you see?

...
316i
318i
320i
325i
328i
M3
...

I never ever saw my car on a wishlist: the 323i. It always slips through, noone ever notices it. And that's so wrong, because that's the very reason it is a good car. Here's why:

BMW decided for the E36 range they need a model between the 320i and the 325i. So they created the 323i. Despite its name, it has 2.5 liters of displacement and shares the engine block with the 328i. The 325i also has 2.5 liters, but has the block from the previous model (E30). So they faced the problem of the 323i having a more sophisticated engine than the 325i. Therefore, they detuned the 323i a little to fill the gap in terms of performance. In real life, the car often has more than the officially stated 170 hp (has been dyno'ed with 180+ hp stock). And with a little bit of work here and there (intake, exhaust, electronics), you can easily surpass the 325i and catch up to the 328i.

I know this probably just ist boring technobabble for you, but for me, the 323i clearly is the sleeper of the bunch, and therefore, it deserves to be in GT5.

:dopey: 👍 👍 👍

I tottaly agree. I also own a really decent 1997 E36 323i Touring with full M-technik equipment and quite a few extras (custom made LSD ...) and I am very happy with it. I use it for drifting and on trackdays when I can (I've done laps on Nordschleife with it :sly:). It brings me a lot of joy as an every day car and I would love to see it in GT series once ... And I also got another one recently - 318i Touring, which is having it's engine replaced with a 3.5 V8 engine from 535i :scared: and will become my full time drift/race vehicle.

Some pics of my car:

And racing version (work in progress):

I just love the shape and practicallity of "station wagon" cars and I wish there were more in GT series. I don't like especially the shapes of coupe cars, but that's just me. I just remember I liked the Legacy Wagon in GT4 just because of that, and also the Avant series of Audi and almost all other "cars with backpack" :).

yeah, pretty much. i have a '97 Eclipse GS in burgandy. there is a '95 GS-T in GT3 & 4, but they only have red and black. it is mostly the same aside from the older style front & rear.
