Normally in this time trail situation snake/gt, rofajole and GTP_Marooned would be eliminated for being the slowest in their groups, without anyone in their group dropping out.

BUT as these guys actually put the time and effort in to submit me a time they are staying in 👍

These are the people eliminated:
  • GTP_varconv
  • HUGHS1E
  • GTP_Profi

Laps - 5

Races - 2

Start Date - 13 / 01 / 09

End Date - All Races Must Be Complete Before The Next Online Event Change.

Back to online racing this time around guys. The race will take place on 550 RWD Suzuka. You are put into groups (below) and will race 2 races. The groups are based on your ability levels, time trial times, and what region your game is.

You can arrange a time and date for your races via PM, Email, however you wish. Once a time and date is sorted please PM me the clear times for EACH race. A race will only count if ALL member of the group attend (unless that / those racers cannot be contacted and I know about it).

In the 2 races you will score points. Depending on how many racers are in each group, 1st will score the number of points for the racers that took part (If 4 racers are in the group, coming first scores you 4 points, second 3 etc). The racer with the least points is eliminated.

Hopefully there will be a steward in each race. Normal OLR rules apply. Keep it clean. PM me when you have arranged a time and date. Any questions feel free to ask. Most of all have fun

PP550 RWD

Race Specifications

  1. The winner will be decided at the end of the total amount of laps (5). If all the laps are not complete, it is the racer who is infront when the timer runs out.
  2. Your car must be on 550PP. No less.
  3. Standand OLR rules apply. They can be found HERE.
  4. You will race once. The loser is eliminated and the winner progresses through.
  5. Races must be done as quick as possible to beat the event change.
  6. Have Fun 👍

Who Are You Racing

This week a new format has been developed. It works in the same way the champions league draw does. From your past time trail results (told you they would come back to help out :sly: ) I have worked out a table from fastest to slowest. The faster you were the better, as the table was split in half to give the "faster" and "slower" as it were. I then at random paired one faster guy and one slower guy together.

The Pairings

  1. timeattack07gt vs snake/gt
  2. EL_ZISSOU vs Paolopepper
  3. GTP_Gadbury vs GTP_Marooned
  4. GTP_Grim_Reaper vs MilkieDJ
  5. GTP_Synwraith vs GTP_SteveO1965
  6. GTP_rpm vs Belifant
  7. GTP_Lyvan vs rofajole

PM either GTP_Wanna_B or myself to steward to race. This must include:
  • The date
  • The time
  • Both competitor tags

How Will The Race Start

  • When the race begins, pull to the left of the track and over the grass to the pitline.
  • Position yourself midway down the pitlane where there is a light grey tarmac area.
  • The racer listed on the right of the table, takes the LEFT side of the pitline. This gives them the advantage so they are able to defend into turn 1.
  • On 20 seconds you will begin racing.

Picture attached is how you will line up. Make sure the car is the Honda NSX NOT the Acura

After The Race

Once the race is complete, please PM me the result.

Thanks GTP_JackStanley & GTP_Wanna_B

Through To The Next Round
  1. GTP_rpm
  2. rofajole
  3. GTP_Synwraith
  4. EL_ZISSOU

  • Any interference by non participants (drivers taking part in the public race) during the race will sometimes be unavoidable and should therefore be considered as an unavoidable part of the game.

Moving Off The Track During A Rolling Start:

When beginning the race from the rolling start, it is important that you move off the racing line in a manner that doesn't interfere with those who are competing in the public race. All drivers should steer to the left side of the track immediately after crossing the start finish line, while being careful not to impeded other drivers on track. Please practice steering off the racing line, to be sure you are comfortable with it prior to your actual race.

Grid Positions

Due to the banking on the main race track, it will be necessary to begin the race from the pit lane. When steering off the racing line at the beginning of the race, cross over the grass on track side left and drive into the pit lane. The grid positions for the start of the race are the light colored concrete patches, approximately halfway down pit lane. Once you've steered onto pit lane, turn around drive in reverse to your assigned grid position.

Grid Position 1:

Grid Position 2:

IMG_0085.jpg

Race Start Time Rules:

The head to head race will start exactly 40 seconds after the commencement of the public race.

All drivers are solely responsible for any delay in getting to their grid position. If any driver fails to get to their grid position in due time, then the other driver has the right to commence racing at the 40 second start time.

If both drivers fail to reach their designated grid positions before the 40 second start time, then the start time will begin at 50 seconds after the start of the public race.

During the race start only (Not during pit stops) both drivers are to drive out the end of the pit lane, without using the exit road, as shown in the picture below. Each driver has rights to their side of the track, cornering rights as detailed in the GTP OLR Racing Rules must be observed.

Pit Stop Rules :

  • These Added rules are subject to change. Please check back before running your race. Please also be sure to practice pit lane exit and entry prior to your race.
  • Each Driver Must Drive through the Pit Lane 2 times during the race
  • The leading driver must demonstrate their intention of entering the pit lane by crossing inside the yellow pit line with at least 2 wheels, prior to the start of the line double yellow line, as shown in this picture.

IMG_0088.jpg

  • The following driver may not pit on the same lap as the leading driver
  • Pit stops are not allowed on lap #10
  • If a driver does not make 2 pit stops within the rules, their result will be DQ'd.
  • When exiting the pit-lane, you must follow the narrow pit exit lane on the left hand side, as shown in the picture below.

IMG_0090.jpg

  • It is expected that drivers will not strike barriers or short cut while entering and exiting the pits.
  • Cars on the race track have right-of-way over cars entering the race track from the pits. You have to take care not to interfere with other drivers on the track. Swerving in front of upcoming cars to defend your position is not allowed.

The Final

GTP_Synwraith vs timeattack07gt

Race Information:
  • You will both arrange a time and date, allowing a maximum of 2 hours free to race.
  • You will meet JP, myself and another steward in the GTP Race Chat, where a private room with a password will be setup.
  • You will be told car settings for the up coming races.
  • You will race 3 races on 3 different tracks.

This is something different and fresh. Gives both racers an even playing feild. The races are all about driving talent, who can adapt the quickest to unknown situation and who dares to push an unknown car to the limit.

Best of luck and have fun.

All the thanks should be going to GTP_Wanna_B. It was his idea 👍 Im just a helper :)

We are making this alot unlike the IFTC. This is the only time trail there will be. Why its only a week long, so it can be done asap. The time trail is only so we can group participants according to ability.... Then the racing begins (without giving to much away :sly: )

We have to do a time trail as some racers in it, arent GTP registered.

Jack :)

Having seen the problems relating to another GTP event

Please make sure you are OFF_LINE when getting your time

So thank you Wanna_B for organization ;-)
I think Jack should edit his first post and put BIG OFF LINE SIGN somewhere in the center on top of the post.

Ok I just got a question on exactly are we supposed to send you our times?? Ok if I save the ghost replay, how are you guys supposed to get it?? Do I like copy the replay from the PS3 HDD to a flash drive and then upload it to a file sharing website(And of course I'll only send one of you guys the URL for the file)??
Please respond, Thank You!!

Hi there, first of, do your event off line, remembering to save your best lap. When your happy with your time pm myself or Jack, that will then be your submission, no others after that will be accepted, so make sure it's as fast as you think you can go and above all within the rules/guidlines of GTP events. As for your saved lap we may/maynot ask you, people will be randonmly chosen to supply their lap for us to check, we will let those people know after the closing date.
Good luck

Edit: side note, please also remember that it's just me and Jack doing this event and we are both from the UK, so any questions will be answered soon as possible, thankyou

Jack

Many thanks for organizing such a thing:tup: and the idea off being no wheels :dopey:

I'll give a try now...expect a PM soon

How our we going to ensure that everyone is playing by the rules and using the 6-axis and not a wheel?

OK i am in, if i do not switch my router on that should enable my time to be offline? sorry i am not that computer literate, i know that i automatically sign in to the PS network when i switch on.

Why I have asked you to save your reply ;) We will be able to tell as the using a SixAxis, you have less smooth movements. Throttle and brake imput are more aggressive. There are ways to tell.

We wont know 100% but at the end of the day..... Whats the point when its a SixAxis event.....

Jack :)

You're right, it should be easy enough to tell who is using a 6-axis and who isn't...hopefully. Wasn't the winner supposed to be gifted a G25 or a wheel of some sort? That's the only reason I brought this issue up, as you don't know who might be looking for a free wheel to turn around and sell. Hopefully we won't have that issue.

That was the first plan but not sure its guna be a G25 now! We are still looking at prizes!

Just a question:

What are S2 tires ?
Sports/Medium ?

They are the medium range of tyres.

You get Normal (1,2,3), Sports (1,2,3), Racing (1,2,3) tyres. In the this time trial we are running S2's. They are the top tyre choice!

I think you are somewhat right, but in my case I'm really aggressive with the throttle and brake input while drifting, but I'm really smooth while racing making it look almost like I'm using a wheel. So yea, I believe that we just have to trust the participants in the event.

The idea is the winner overall will receive a wheel, i did say in my original post it would not be a G25 or the latest GT, but non the less a wheel, which actually got me started in GT5 Prologue, also there are going to be a few spot prizes on the way, not necassarily for the fastest racer, maybe another reason why the individual deserves their prize, keep watching, keep practicing and good luck

And please can't say this enough, Off-line when doing the Eigar and you do have till the 13th November

exactley what we want to hear:tup:

Good on'ya JP and Jack .

Cheers Donk

I'm sooo excited!! Prizes or not this is gonna be fun!

Oh, have a question tho, are we keeping all event lap times offline or just the first (qualifying) round?

Also, what if by chance there's an event (same car, same track) that someone has done previous to the SIXAXIS Event, and their best time is online ranked already, can we use that time?
I know the chances of this occurring is slim and probably won't happen.

sorry if this is answered before...

For this time trail can you keep it offline. It stops other people in the event seeing your time and gives it some suprises when we post the times up.

As to other rounds... Wait and see what we have in mind :sly:

Nice event...

I submitted my time already...

I wonder if there would be a big advantage by using a wheel, I think about a comparison between wheel and pad.

Therefore after finishing this event the wheel-drivers should do the same time-trial so we could be able to compare wheel- and pad-times.

The only way to get a realistic comparison is by yourself doing a race with the pad then the wheel, i know of some drivers who even with a pad are far better than some wheel users, i myself am waiting on PD to release a turbo'd/supercharged/nitrous JCB steamroller so i can flatten people like Synwraith whose pad ability is disturbing:sly:

Can I still win a wheel by doing this Championship ?

That would be great...

If your a sixaxis user, then the competition is open to you, a wheel is for the grand champpion..but not a G25 or the GT wheel

Gave this a go last night and had a blast, I have not driven the TT that much and it reminds me of my A3. The quattro seems to kill the tight corners though :( I will prob try to skim a bit more time off my lap and then submit.

Glad you like, Jack tested the car, came back with the thumbs up, i had a quick go, very very nice motor at Eigar

Could never offer those as prizes, especially if the jammy ones as i'd eat them all...mmmmmmmmmmm

Hey Donk, when we get down to the last two, any chance you can tag along to film the final race?
Then at the end of this event i can close it down with a video of the final
