Information & Signup

Welcome one and all to the 1st season of GTPCTC. This season there are 2 classes to choose from: GS and ST.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank GTsail for his invaluable help during testing for this series. And thanks to Abud for the format for this thread. :P

General Information and Regulations

As with last season there will be three types of race event during the season. There will be 4 Standard rounds of 50mi and 5 Enduro rounds of 100mi and 1 Super-Enduro round of 150mi.

Week starts on Monday, with times to be sent via PM by 11.59pm GMT on Sunday

There is NO HP penalty for joining the series part way through the season.

All rules, regulations, car specifications, and races are controlled by GTPCTC sanctioning body, umm...me for now unless the GTMSA wants to pick me up :P. Any and all questions should be directed to GTPCTC officials (namely me..and anyone else who wants to help out) and officials will do their best to answer in a timely and accurate manor.

All drivers must run at the specified weights and horsepower settings provided by me for each round. Horsepower and/or weight settings are adjusted for competitive reasons each round based on finishing positions from previous rounds.

* Standard Online Racing Rules Apply.
* No Cheating, hybrids, etc. You must run the car specifications I give you
* Try keeping at least 2 wheels on course. Long races = small mishaps, but absolutely NO shortcuts
* No wall-riding as well. Combined with penalties, this will slow you down considerably, so don't do it.
* All decisions by GTMSA officials are final
* The race track for this season will be defined as the area between the white or yellow lines. This means rumble strips do not count as track.

Qualifying

* Single hot lap in time trial (arcade) mode
* Weight penalty in effect
* SS tyres only
* ASM is prohibited TCS is optional
* Laps MUST be clean, no collisions no matter how small are acceptable
* Points: 3pts - 2pts - 1pt
* 20 second penalty added to race time if you don't submit a qualifying time
* Qualifying will be open for 1 week per round (i.e. Monday to Sunday)

Race

* Single race (arcade mode) lasting either 50mi (standard) or 100mi (enduro) with the exception of Round 9 which is a 150mile race, but will be considered an enduro.
* Weight penalties in place
* SS, SM, SH tires or any combination thereof
* Strong Tyre Wear
* AI at +5 for GS and +3 for ST
* Ai tyres SS
* Forced Pit Entry penalty system
* ASM is prohibited TCS is optional
* Points for race: 10-8-6-4-2-1

Weight Penalty System

Weight penalties will be applied in RACES AND QUALIFYING. The following penalties will be allocated follwing the results of the race and apply only for the next round:

1st +5%
2nd +3%
3rd +1%
4th - 6th 0%
7th & 8th -1%
9th & 10th -2%

Championship Deciders

If one or more cars are tied for points in the championship the decider will be as follows:

* Number of race wins
* Number of pole positions
* Number of second places
* Number of third places etc.

Car Lineup

All cars have been setup in an attempt to make them equal in race pace. In other words, cars with very good (low) tire wear will be slightly slower than those that burn their tires up.

Let me see if I can squeeze in one more race. Only one car though. And probably every other race or so.

okay...I still need to do some testing of my own. And some of the restrictions might change in the end.

I tried to run a race with the Mustang today, but, after changing only front tires on the first pit stop, I let my rear tires get too red, and ended up being forced to pit on just about every lap, which means I couldn't change tires. Opera Paris is very unforgiving, it would seem. You miss your pit window, you're screwed.

I tested Suzuka West, and, while it does have a pit lane, it doesn't open. So, I decided to use Tsukuba instead.

Anyways, I don't know how many of these I'll be able to run, as well. So, eventually someone shall have to take over.

I changed the Mustang's number to 66, since that's the year I was born and it has alot of weird little significants in my life and stuff.

I'm in :D
I have to test two more cars but I will reserve my spot. I will only be doing one class and the two cars left to test are in each class. Will make my decision tonight.

It has been brought to my attention that some of the cars won't be able to add any extra weight if they come in first...so...I'll be making adjustments to those cars.

Thanks for all your effort with this Series SuperShouden!

I know how hard it is to balance all these cars:tup:

I would like to enter the GS class, but haven't fully retested the cars, so I would like to enter some "T" cars:

Looking forward to the first practice race!

I shall get your entries entered tomorrow...

but it s a pain to get these cars balanced. I think the biggest surprise was with the SRT4. Was not expecting to be as powerful as it was. But, then again, it does have the Lancer's engine in a Front Wheel Drive layout. Anyway, both the M3 and he SRT4 (and possibly the 350Z) will be getting bigger HP reductions to counter act the lowering of their weight. so that I can implement penalties after each race.

This TT should read 2003 not 2000!
the 2000 is a 1.8 and cannot be weighted up to 1596kg.

Changes have been made to the vehicles. The Audi S4 now has slightly less weight, and the BMW has less weight, but less HP, as well.

Also, I ran the S4 and BMW on Tsukuba yesterday, and I determined two things: The tire wear is crazy at this track. On both cars, all four tires wore out at a different rate, with the left front going out first. And secondly, I'm going to impose a mandatory pitstop for the Tsukuba race. The BMW came within 30 seconds of the S4's time, but the BMW didn't have to pit, so, to make things even, everyone will have to pit between laps 10 and 15.

I'll be running more races today and tomorrow. Hopefully, by Monday, everything will be evened out.

Mmm hmm, Tsukuba is brutal with left-front tire-wear for FF and AWD cars. I've done plenty of racing to know that. :)

So dumb question time...the pre race at Tsukuba, which is listed as being May 10th....is that when the race must be done? Or is that when qualifying for the pre-race starts?

GS Testing done. The Camaro and 350Z are probably going to lose a an extra tick in the HP department (-14% for the 350Z) (-3 for the Camaro)

The 350Z and the GTO have had their HP and weight adjusted...'cause the GTO pitted..and was STILL a full 30seconds faster than the Audi S4. Hopefully the changes made to it will slow it down.

The Z and the Camaro are about ten seconds faster than the BMW, so I figure, loosed a smidge more HP will make those even. The Mustang appears to be fine..I had to pit twice with it because...I...uh...changed the wrong tires on the first pitstop.

If I am correct I believe it starts on Monday after you have chosen your car.
The race runs from Monday to Sunday....💡 If I am correct

right, raz. Only I'm gonna run the pre-race for two weeks. That should meet up with the Round 4 GTPLMS race. Then we'll qualify for the first round of this series.

and the heavy left-front tire wear was true for all the cars I tested so far: AWD and FR. I suspect it'll be worse for the FF cars.

Also, the 350Z is Sooooo smooth around the track that it could probably go 25 laps before it had to pit. Which is why I'm going to be enforcing the manditory pitstop.

Testing complete and cars are at their final HP and Weight. The Mini and VW ended up being the fastest in ST. The Mini had a massive weight reduction on it to compete with the old FR cars that WERE in ST class. Now that all but one are FF, the Mini doesn't need to lose that much weight, to it got some back. The VW got some changes..and it still might get more..we'll see where it comes in after the pre-season.

Also, due to the fact that the SRT4 and the TT have closer to 300hp stock, and the cars you race against are based on that initial HP, those two were getting thrown in with GS class cars...which means, when the HP reductions and increased weight, at +5 they were no match. So, ST class races will be run at +3. the SRT4 and TT will still get out paced in some races, but not nearly as bad. I thought about doing +2, but that's a little too easy for the other cars.

In total, all but two ST cars got adjustments to their HP and weight.

I am still undecided on which Class to race in.

It says 2004 Honda Civic Type R. I think that's clear enough.

and there are four Civic SiRs...but nothing from this century.

And I meant, there's not a Civic Sedan...unless you count the Del sol

That's fine, then. It's just that this is the second time that someone has had some confusion over which car you meant.
