Very much so. I'd love to see a better quality video of what it looks like up there. Kittingers jump was immense. On that final jump, his glove failed during the ascent and his hand swelled to twice it's normal size! He didn't tell anyone though!

Good luck to Felix, I'd love to watch him succeed, just so I could watch an epic freefall video where he's trying to break the sound barrier with a nice parachute landing to finish. 👍
 
So, when exactly IS Felix jumping? And wouldn't a sonic boom probably shatter his bones, or something?
 
Best of luck to the fella, balls of steel is the understatement of the century.
 
The thing doing the supersonic flight doesn't actually feel the boom. That comes from the shock waves trailing it. I think there would be pressure points where the shock waves form, but the pressure builds with speed, it's not an impact.

Thing is, that pressure is gonna be a whole lot lower at the altitudes they're talking about, just because of the lack of air.

To add to this, if anyone is a bit confused looking for it on TV, it's on 7mate listed mistakenly under the title of Red Bull X-Fighters International Series (at least on my local guide, don't know about other regions' guides) starting at 11:17PM eastern daylight saving time.
 
little xonfused is the website countdown for tha launch or start of live feed? TV broadcast doesn't start for another 30 minutes
 
Launch has been delayed by at least an hour due to wind.

TV broadcast is on now (at least in Northern NSW).
EDIT: Not on now due to the delay.
 
Apparently they'll send up the balloon at around 5.30 PM in Europe (3 hour's time). Or, that's what they've said on Danish TV.

Edit: They keep saying different time's, so I don't know.
