"Car to blame" - Schumacher.

...and now he wants answers from Norbert Haug. What do you guys think of this? Seriously, am I not the only one that is getting tired of his bull****. If the car was as bad as some of the performances that Schumacher put in this year, there's no way in hell Rosberg would have scored three podiums with it. Granted it wasn't a great car, but it was hardly terrible. Its perfectly understandable that he was rusty as he'd been away for three years. And testing mileage is been greatly reduced. Not to mention that Nico is hardly a slouch, so coming back rusty against a driver of his capability was never going to be easy. All three of these would have been perfectly reasonable and believable explanations. But nope. Instead, Schumacher decides to go out on a limb and blame the car. Bravo Schumacher, bravo! :indiff:

(This is not a Schumacher bashing post or thread. I'm simply sharing my opinions and asking for other users opinions on this).

I think it would have been tricky to adapt to a type of car that has evolved somewhat in his absence, and I believe indeed that the tyres and inability to counteract them with car settings were a problem. I don't think someone would deliberately sabotage his car but no two cars are the same, I think having to adapt to the rule changes would have taken it's toll too, and that fact that he could no longer get away with the strong-arming driving style and tactics that he used to.
Little things could have annoyed him, he had to press more buttons and change settings on the wheel more often than in his heyday, when he wants to focus on the driving part more.

He's learned a lot this year and I expect he will do a lot better next year, Although I think the competition will be very very close with the engine deals and technical changes that have taken place for next season.

I'm not a Schumacher fan but it's been sad to see him struggle, there is a kind of feeling that if the Mercedes car is one of the best next year, Schumacher will become the unofficial number 1 driver as far as the audience is concerned, he would have to win, and Rosberg take a back seat?

As much as I want to see Petrov collect some podiums, It would be great to see Schumacher win the title one more time (I'll admit I came up with the joke nickname Michael Bachmacher early in the season, it was good to see him improve in the 2nd half of the season though.)

If he thinks Mercedes were sabotaging his car, he is wrong. But it was a bad car (In terms of what Schumacher is used to from his Ferrari days), Rosberg just adapted to it far better/sooner.

Agreed, its a matter of adaptation. Schumacher was sincere in my opinion for saying that, but also shows that his legend was carved by the mechanics of Ferrari as well as his own talent.

When Schumacher says it's the car he means that the Mercedes didin't fit him. All year he's been complaining about the car, while Rosberg has been happy with the car.

Funny... he said he preferred to discuss these things internally... and now he comes out publicly with them?

Interesting he says that Nico's data didn't help him... did Mercedes simply develop two different cars around two different drivers?

Hope next season is a better one... all things considered, Michael didn't do too badly for an old hand... and he was definitely catching up to Rosberg in the latter half of the season. Next season will definitely be his acid test.

As a huge Mercedes Motorsports fan from the beginning, grew up among 190evo2 Dtm cars, these machines never got out of my mind and were my beginnings as a fan watching races. Say this is the sadest thing to do. Norby Haug actually is the most sincere and honest guy in this business, always fair, never thrash talking. He protected Michael's performance over the whole season even if a lot of people downed him. German moderaters included. Norby always stood behind him, now what Schumacher does is evilest backstabbing. Such a sad moment and we probably witness the fall of an aging star. Michael such behavior is so sad.

Personally, I don't see why some of you are making such a big deal out of this article and Michael's thoughts.

Michael said that he had a lot of technical issues with the car (which did not plague Nico's car) throughout the year, and simply demanded answers (as to what was causing it) from the team in order to have a properly functioning car, which would allow him to achieve the best result possible - If there's something wrong with that (especially when your job is on the line), then I don't know what to say.
