I know there are a few people out there using photoshop to get 2 or more cars into a Photo travel shot. Post them here:)

This is my first attempt, not the best, more of a practice run.

Nice try there mate.

I was a pS'er in gt4 compositing multiple drift cars together. This does indeed sound interesting to try on here too, in travel mode.

Why o why haven't we got a garage to walk through...

I loved that about the PG Series games!!

true, but watching one off those opening main menu movies, seeing those cars together, there was a room for that or something...

I've had my first go - although not drift cars I think it works pretty well:

There are 5 cars in the scene (no really!) and took a while to set up - remembering all the setting and adjusting the zoom etc to match. I blurred the Mazda to give a bit of movement. Not all the pics came out the same colour as I think there might be dynamic lighting/clouds etc affecting the scence - but still nothing that Photoshop can't fix :)

Oh, and the grey line on the left-side of the Mazda isn't bad cropping, its the different coloured line of the cobbles in the street behind! :dopey:

Let me know what you think - I'm up for doing more.

(Link for large version if you want a wallpaper)

VERY nicely done composite, Dazza - especially tricky, given the constant color-shifting of the lights at the Red Bull hangar.

Since there's no x/y coordinate system that I've seen, how do you ensure that your camera is in the same location for all shots?

Great first attempt. People moving about in the image can be annoying, but it should be easy enough to mask them out so I'm not sure what happened on the steps there :)

I don't wanna seem like I'm spamming my photo, but it is relevant so...

Top tip: If you've got a white (or very light coloured) car near a brighter coloured car, go over it with a brush to give the effect of the light reflecting. I've done it here, laying a transparent red tone over the white car.

Thanks sixtoes / ghostrider135 - The first shot isn't bad but I'm very happy with the second.

With no X/Y coordinates in the game the only real way is to pick one of the default camera spots (one large enough for several cars) and use that - making sure your don't nudge either of the sticks on the controller or you'll knock everything out of sync. You could try moving he camera into a particular corner of the scene etc and use reference points on building to line stuff up - but that will be more hit/miss.

I'm going to do some more later (pesky 'work' to do today though - boooo!).

ghostrider135 - I'd love to have a go with the shots too.

Yeah I was thinking about how awesome it'd be if there was a box to type co-ordinates in to get the perfect camera placement whenever you want.

Bloody massive respect to you guys its alot harder than it looks, And thats before I even tried to edit the pictures which I cant as paint wont even let me open them :s

Ill have to post them tomorrow as I cant upload to photobucket till midnight and by which point ill most likely be dead to the world lol

I'm with you on the second shot, Dazza - in fact, that location gave me a little inspiration to try my first composite. There aren't too many locations in Photo Travel that are large enough for multiple cars - unless you move the camera, which really makes it tough. I still don't know how you managed to get five cars in there - I had a tough enough time with three! But here it is:

Lighting was a concern, so I decided to combine my HDR ability with this new composite technique. Of course, that means the above image is actually a composite of 15 photos - five photos each of the three vehicles. Unfortunately, I placed the 430 a bit poorly, so I had to verycarefully mask where it touches the Italia. Minor tweaks in Photoshop to enhance contrast. Definitely digging the look - but MAN, does it take a lot of time!

If you take the extra time to do what I did (here) you could fit around ten cars in that scene.

Nicely done, Midian. I'm not nuts about that location because they took all that beautiful sunlight and put it on everything but the cars. I suppose when I have a free afternoon, I can do a 5-bracket HDR with 10 cars in one location. Or maybe not.

I'm working on another HDR / composite image at the Abbey, but it's only got two of these Ferraris... later tonight.

Yeah it's a shame, imagine the shots we could get if there was direct sunlight bouncing off the cars.

Ten cars is probably a bit of a heavy workload :P But you can definitely fit loads more in if you put them behind each other.
