I just completed my first ever endurance race with GT5. It was amazing!

I invite you to share what car and time you posted. And please share what your experience was with the 60 laps at Grand Valley.

I decided to use the Mini Cooper S because it is my personal favorite car, mostly because it is actually reasonable that I will own it someday. For tuning, I just brought the power/weight ratio up to about 1/5, which is about in line with the other cars. But obviously, though I'm underpowered, due to the low weight I was flying through the corners.

I started the race with racing(hard) tires. These took me 26 laps, but started to lose about a second per lap. Up to this point I had second place trailing me by about 2 seconds and passing me a couple times on the straight. He pitted on lap 24.

So my thoughts were that if I could stretch the tires just a little further then I would be able to use racing(medium) tires for the last 10 laps.

I then pitted on lap 51 and put on my racing(medium) tires. By the way, I did not refuel at all during the race and still ended with a 1/4 tank. Coming out of the pits I was about 12 seconds back. It only took five laps to make these back, while making my way through a good deal of lapped traffic.

I finished the race with a best lap time of 2:08, while finishing about 8 seconds in front of the runner up.

I tried the first time with my 458 and I got overtaken by the NSX (Don't ask, I don't know how either). Then I spun out, making it impossible to recover.

So I got upset and I took my Suzuki Escudo out for a joy ride. I did it in 1:54:23.

Used the FGT and did in around 1:30ish.. don't remember exactly. Was a pleasant drive and surely got me ready for the FGT cup now that I know how to drive the FGT. :D

I used the Amuse S2000 GT1 and won by many laps after about 2 hours. With Enduros I don't try for a close race, I'm not going to risk losing after hours of driving, I just pick a sweet ride and spend the time continually trying to beat my fastest lap :)

First time I did it in my Minolta (over powered much?) 1 hour 43 min.

Second time I did it in my FGT :D about an hour and a half.

Looks like i'll be doing it today.....

I too have a Mini so I think it deserves to be raced in a BIG race. lol!! :dopey:

I used a Mazda Furai, Have wanted to drive the car for a while but had no reason too before this.... Completely stock, even used the racing hard tyres provided! Finished sub 2 hours and 9 laps ahead.

With endurance races, I'd rather get the laps done as quick as possible but when time is the judge of the race length, I will match my opponents more!

I used the Suzuki gsxr/4. I had just won it and wanted something that handled well. it was only 175 hp I thought I needed a few more.. 235 it ended up with I think. Yeah it's 600 kg so I ended up destroying them, and finding a new small track car. I think it was about 2'12".

I Used the GSX-R/4 too, soft slicks and full tune, lapped the whole field by 9 laps, under 2 hours to complete. Terrible credit payout though.

I raced it with a mate in my Falcon XR8 Race Car. We won by over 6 laps (would have been more if my mate was used to playing with the DFGT) and it was quite an enjoyable race.

1hr 15min Red Bull X1, i reckon heaps of ppl will complete it in less time if pit stops are calculated correctly (i kept on forgetting) and also not crash into lapped traffic

First attempt. Skyline R34 Stock but Hard/Soft Sports tyres. Winning margin one lap.

Second attempt. 350Z Stock but Medium Sport tyres. Winning margin one minute plus.

Third attempt. Skyline R32 Stock but Medium tyres. First race = 2nd by 0.331 Sec. Second attempt, winning margin 30 seconds plus.

Forth attempt will be either a 300ZX or a Sylvia S15. Neither will be tuned except I will add whatever sport tyres I feel I need.

I think I'll have to try some of these cars myself, and see how my times compare. Mind if I add you to friends list? PSN :: GTP_EXE

I did it with the Furai...it was fully tuned...I also think the race is 3K not 300k ;)...but terrible pay out but a good chunk of XP...I figured if I were going to race for two hours...I can get the same if not more XP by grinding Indy and win WAYYY much more money

Dammit you beat me by a Minute I used the same car and got there in 1 hour 44 min :grumpy:

Sounds like a great race! This is what I hope to experience when I can tackle the endurance races myself. The 2-3 hour commitment seems a lot shorter if you actually have to race. Good thread!

Have run the Grand Valley Endurance two times. Bear in mind that this is just for leveling up and grinding credits.

1st run
Minolta 88C fully tuned - 1 hour and 45 min+

2nd run
Formula Gran Turismo - 1 hour and 35 min.

I did it yesterday in my tuned aston martin v12 vanquish. took 2hours 6 minutes pitting every 15 laps which also used half a tank of fuel also i used racing medium tires.

I did it today. Choosen my Nissan GT R'07 tuned. Two hours later it was done with 3 stop at pit (10 - For wrong tyres on front, 30 - 50 ). Poor credit but nice xp.

Having a car on my tail the entire time made it amazing. I HIGHLY recommend it to all of those who are running the endurance races in over-powered cars. Making a race out of it makes it worth it even if you are racing for 3rd or 4th or 5th place. It's just like a real life endurance race, not everyone can win, but you can still make a race out of it.

I just wish that their were more than one "class" for each endurance race. I would love to do the 60 laps at Grand Valley against some higher powered competition.

I did it in a stock Nissan SKYLINE Coupe 370GT and finished 36 seconds ahead of a Mazda RX-8. My tyres wore really fast at the front and I had to pit 3 times with Sports Hard. I've never been good at managing my tyres. Total time - 2:17'28.546

I would be interested in seeing someone run the 60 Lap at Grand Valley with the same setup that I ran. I'd love to hear your experience.

Basically I did all the weight mods. And to slightly raise the HP I think I just used a sport manifold, and maybe a sport filter. Besides that, I also put in a fully customizable transmission and carbon drive shaft.

Let me know if you run it and send me a PM with your times and experience!

Why risk doing an endurance race in a car that you might lose in. I would only do it in my fastest car.. that being the Peugeot 908

People do it to make it more competitive and to make the race a lot more interesting than going round and lapping everyone every 10 laps. Others do use the fastest cars for beating lap times and such but if you're just using the fastest cars to get the race out of the way, it just isn't as much fun.

I'm on both sides of the arguement as I love using stock, slower cars to make the game competetive but have no problem breaking out a ridiculously fast car and "time trial" the event.

You've got to remember that the main issue people have with the game is exp. grinding. Going out and losing a 2 hour endurance race which you enjoy doing isn't that big a deal because you still get the 130,000XP for finishing the race.

you can't buy a drive shaft for a front wheel drive car. fyi
