300k Endurance at Grand Valley :: Times, Cars, and Experience

I enjoy trying to make my tyres last longer, first pit stop was in 10 laps, second was in about 15-16 laps.

I'l be doing this soon. Tempted to use a car similar to my opponents but I really want to take a GT-R '07 for a long drive - the one that I tuned for SSR5 in the seasonal events was fantastic to drive. Either way I'll report back on how I get on.

I wonder if I'll win ;)

I would be interested in seeing someone run the 60 Lap at Grand Valley with the same setup that I ran. I'd love to hear your experience.

Basically I did all the weight mods. And to slightly raise the HP I think I just used a sport manifold, and maybe a sport filter. Besides that, I also put in a fully customizable transmission and carbon drive shaft.

Let me know if you run it and send me a PM with your times and experience!

I will try your setup once I unlock the endurance class.

Out of curiosity, what car make/model was runner up?

Fully modded R34 Vpec II. Probably will give my B-Spec drivers something around the AI's league in the race to give Bob, and myself, a nice challenge of coaching.

I don't have enough faith in my endurance lasting for over 2 hours so I just took a formula GT and went for fast lap times. Took me 1 hour 45 minutes, including 8 laps or so of my wife giving it a go.

With the update yesterday was finally able to get my hands on a Formula GT so decided to run this in race. I know its way overpowered but wanted to get a good feel for driving car with no aids using the DS2 prior to attempting the FGT championship.

Total time was around the 1 hour 33 minute mark and the 2nd place car was 15 laps behind. Would have been faster but for first 10 laps was too heavy with throttle on corner exit and spinning. Times went from 1.34s on racing softs at beginning of race to low 1.27s on racing hards by end.

My best lap time was in the 1:28s on racing softs... I fail.

used the ferrari 599 really cant remember my time tho, just was a car i had not gotten to drive much i tend to use cars i not driven, granted they have to be fast since i do not want to spend 2 hours or more actually racing the stone stupid AI and throwing things around my house when they drive me off the road or spin me out or simply try to drive through me entirely.

So for endurance races i have used the 599, the f430 scudieria, the mclaren f1 stealth, lotus rm, and was not until indy 500 i broke out the big guns and pulled out the minolta and the FGT.

Just did it with my FT-86 G-Sports Concept. The car's stock, except for the soft sports tyres and the bronze TE37s.

Did it in 2 hours and 11 minutes. Gotta say, the 86 is my favouritte car so far. Worthy succesor to the AR86 in my opinion 👍

I used the Amuse S2000 GT1 and won by many laps after about 2 hours. With Enduros I don't try for a close race, I'm not going to risk losing after hours of driving, I just pick a sweet ride and spend the time continually trying to beat my fastest lap :)

+1, I did the same, I looked at what car will often been chosen for the race (cant remember the buttons name) It was all some "normal road cars" so I took my Nissan GT-R Spec-V '09 (I really fell in love with this car after i bought it for the last race in seasonal event) not fully tuned with 502 hp. i won with 3 laps in 2:12:??, I used the time like WRXLENT to improve my lap time, and with different wheel setup.
I really like the race :)

Edit:
just love it!

I don't remember. I was too busy just trying to stay ahead of him.

I do wish that instead of having the driver names they would have the car make and model to the right of the HUD.

I'll have to watch the replay to find what car was 2nd.

I noticed a big difference in my tire wear. The first 26 laps I took it nice and easy. After my first pit I pushed it quite hard to put some distance between myself and 2nd so that he couldn't draft me on the straight. But it did cause significant tire wear so that by the time I hit the pits again I he was seriously gaining on me.

I think I'm gonna have to give this one a try. Might to medium sports tires though to make it a bit more of a challenge.

I used the Toyota FT-86 '10 completely stock, sports hard tires.

After about 15 laps I had fallen behind ~15 seconds. I had originally planned on pitting on lap 30, but I was losing 2-3 tenths a lap and had no idea what the AI was going to do. lap 20 my laptimes had dropped from 1:13s to 1:18s, I decided to pit and try to hotlap my way back to the front. Coming out of the pits, I was 45 seconds out of 1st, running 4th. I immediately dropped down to the 1:10 bracket, and was picking up around 7 seconds a lap. I gained the lead on lap 29, and never looked back, ended up cruising to victory by about 70 seconds.

Does the replay record the whole race now ? 2hours+ ?

I recall in GT4 it stopped recording after a while.

Now, that's a race! I'll have to add the Toyota FT-86 '10 to my list of cars to run this with.

So, did you use sport hard tires even after the pit stop?

I used my trusty FGT, took about hour and a half and wasn't much of a challenge as the AI was 20 laps behind when i finished

I'm planning on doing this in my McLaren F1 Stealth Model, will have stats later...though apparently you do get a killer amount of XP.
