I have a level 29 Bob and i put him in the Suzuka 1000km using a 2D Chapperal tuned as much as it could be and using Hard Race tyres all settings as default and went to bed .. When i woke it had finished and his best lap was 1.57.496 so i thought i would enter the race on A Spec using the same car and spec same circuit.. Humm i hang my head in shame, i lost to Bob i can only beat him with Soft Race tyres on 1.55. xxx .. A wonder for those of you with mid to high "Class" Bob's could you beat his best time on Suzuka ?

Give it a go and let me know ! If your Bob is low "Class" wait till he levels and try it .. Just for fun.

My Highest Bob is only 21 and I easily beat his Suzuka times in anything but the FGT. I'm just not all that fond of the FGT.

But he beats me in alot of cars at the Ring, because I still don't have it memorized.

s2k2k3 .. Pick your favourite circuit and car and try against him see what level he reaches before you can't beat him with equal cars etc. I am recording my Bobs times now on tracks and just gaining xp and ££ from the fun of trying to beat him .. Makes a change from lacklustre AI's although he has now become level 30 the challenge gets harder.

I didn't have the same car as Bob, but he had better tyres!

Same race as you, Suzuka 1000kms:

Bob - JGTC Supra - 600bhp - 1100kgs - soft slicks = 2.03
Me - HKS Evo - 610bhp - 1080kgs - medium slicks = 2.00

I don't know whether to have words with him or not, but just for the sake of it, he's getting a quick slap to the back of the head..

If anyone can't beat my Bob's times then you just need to practice for like 10 minutes because he's awful to be honest with you.

Highlandor pit yourself against him using the same car and track and set up .. Your Bob quick too i guess , you should have fun trying to keep up (the only problem is the more he races the better he gets.. Mine will get fired if he keeps beating me (laughing) !!)

nando2323 mine started out poorly too but they get better . Give him time then try it . I reckon i am "Class 29" or lower as my Bob "Class 29" pipped me to the post by 0.058 secs .. Well now i know my place eh .. Silver isn't so bad is it ??? !

My primary Bob isn't quite at level 21 yet, though he surprised me today with driving the Nissan RC89P a lot better than I seem able to manage...I think though he's using a wheel :)

My Bob is at level 33 and while I have not tried to beat him on Suzuka I am confident that I can smoke him anywhere and everywhere in every car :) Bob just ain't that fast.

HBR-Roadhog give him a go .. I have my Bob's doing laguna waiting for who gets the best lap time and then will try it myself. Ford Mark IV this time .. Just pick a track and give Bob a run out on it then try to beat him. As he gets better the time will get less .. I will keep doing this as it is like setting myr own "Golds" to achieve.

Some say he has the memory of a goldfish, and he can do 7 Lemans 24hrs in a roll, all we know is.........he is called the Bob.

"My Bob is at level 33 and while I have not tried to beat him on Suzuka I am confident that I can smoke him anywhere and everywhere in every car Bob just ain't that fast. "

But if Bob is the generis name of the driver, how can you beat him, the way some of the replies here sound as though he races by himself, like a 'bot' that copies your driving technique??

It would be interesting to compare times with a Bob that's on the same level (eg. 25) in the same car on the same track. But, to tell the truth, my 27 Bob can drive at night on the Sarthe Circuit or Nurburgring in any car faster than I can. I think my Bobs (>lvl 24) are all better "drivers" than I; but, I'm (lvl 25, A-Spec) a better racer.

This sets up a cool Special Event (DLC?) Duel your lvl 40 driver in a showdown in 3, 5 lap races. Start with a slower stock car in the first, medium speed race car in the 2nd (JGT), and finish off with a nice Le Mans or maybe FGT (Ferrari would be cool) duel for the last race! Lvl 40 A-spec and B-spec to unlock D:

slmeyer06 that is a neat idea i like the thought of it . Pretty cool idea indeed .
Warpa.. Bobs does as you instruct him too if you actually play B Spec to that degree , but in this instance i went to sleep and told him to do nothing he did it by himself .. Also he had never been in the 2D neither had i as i had just acquired it .. Suzuka i loathe and when i saw his time i thought humm what a challenge i want to beat him on that one. ( I dont handle Suzuka well at all so i have to really focus on it) Both new to the car and on a track i loathe i thought i can beat Bob .. Afterall 4 years of playing on my behalf i should be able to and i never drive Hard Race tyres always Soft .. It was /is a personal challenge for me and i just thought for all YOU guys that have done the races etc why not try and beat your best Bob , if you do then level him and get a new time to beat , You know the car can do it as Bob did it so there is your "Personal Gold" to chase. My Bobs i instruct for the main until they reached the Enduro's than i just leave them be. If you teach them they get better stats at speed. cornering etc , than if you just throw them in cold and leave it to luck. So mine are quite highish on everything.

My Bob can't get under 41.000 at Indy Superspeedway in the FGT. I do it in the 37s in the same car, same tires, same setup. Bob lifts for the corners; I don't. :dopey:

I'm at A-spec 25, Bob's at 28. He whips my arse in the FGT everywhere else, though.

That may be the key - NOT telling Bob what to do. My Bob is a recalcitrant contrarian; I tell him to speed up, he slows down; I tell him to pass, he lets someone pass HIM! I tell him to slow down and take it easy, and he speeds up. He pretty consistently does exactly what I tell him NOT to do.

As long as he is winning races and winning me money, I don't really mind all that much. I'll keep pimping him out, and Bob will keep turning tricks. Beats workin' for a living, I guess...

Kwicko give him time he'll come good i guess. Mine where hopeless but i sat and instructed them from the start while i watched the other TV .. For myself i will just record their times now on tracks i enjoy racing on and cars i enjoy driving and hopefully Bobas he improves more will give me a Challenge to rise to .. every cloud has a silver lining they say .I think i found Bobs.

Geez Kwicko sounds like my Mrs is driving your car ask your Bob to take the helmet off so i can see if it is her !

One of my Bobs is a contrarian too, but I just use reverse psychology. Well, I was actually wondering whether the commands were translated from Japanese. I mean, what does "maintain pace" really mean? To keep going at the same pace "or" to keep up with the car ahead? That is the question.

Does anybody know if one can isolate Bob's ghost and use it in practice mode? or run against duplicate Bob's in arcade?

Don't know, but I've started using reverse psychology as well. If I want Bob to pass someone, I don't hit the "Overtake" button - I tell him to "Pace Down". And he goes whizzing by two or three cars ahead of him... Well, unless he's driving the NASCAR Grand Valley event, in which case he spins his tires and lets someone pass him. :(

I actually got so aggravated at Bob at that event that I quit the race and just went on to the others, and somehow managed to still win the championship by 45 points, despite coming in 5th at Daytona. I was shocked; I figured Bob had screwed me good on that GV event!

I don't think bob deserves to be referenced to the mysterious driver who'll remain unnamed

The one good feature about Bob ... actually, my favorite driver is a she (G.Stein), so I call her Gert... is that she's darn consistent. She'd be a much better car tester than I; just put her in a different ride and she'll do the exact same thing.
