Got some work done today...started with the GT500 TT at Spa. Ran several laps in the Supra and realized I have no clue how to drive that car. Turning/Braking I'm good, it's keeping the thing 'on boil' that I struggle with. I have two modes with the damn thing, bogged or bouncin' off the limiter. Tried the NSX 'cuz all the cool kids were. 65 miles and a bunch of smiles later I was into gold territory, for now (2:20.2xx).

Then I ran some laps at Suzuka to see if I was up to a Daily B. Thought I was. I was not.🤣

First couple laps were on-point. Stickin' with the crew I started with and breaking away from the rest of the pack (P1 - me in P6). Was able to pick off a couple spots when people in front bobbled a bit and landed P4. Then I decided to try some disco moves through the fields on L3. Back to tenth for the final two laps. Groovy. Gathered up two before the finish line for P8 at least.

Lesson learned, went to offline stuff. Ran the first of the weekly races to receive my NEVER disappointing 6* parts ticket. Cashed that and my other SUPER exciting 6* parts ticket from the daily marathon. Thankfully, was able to collect the camshafts and a driveshaft I needed. With those I can now complete my build of the worlds first camthatched roof. Needed one more vertical support and some fill around the chimney at the Cafe.😁

Today I was trying to enter a GT League and I went the whole weekend to tryout for it and getting the cars I needed to join. It was so hard! I can drive the car but I didn't make it. But I did join a club. So I'll be racing with them then!
 
-Did some qualifying for Daily Race A, featuring the Mazda Roadster (ND) NR-A @ Road Atlanta. I actually got a time that's in the top 1k, which I think is amazing since this car is running Comfort Softs and not any of the sports tires. I tried the race itself twice, and both times, I got a clean Q3/P2.

-I also slightly improved my time by a few tenths for the online time trial featuring classic JGTC GT500 cars at Spa-Francorchamps, but now I really don't see how I can shave off over half a second to reasonably get into gold range.

-Finally, I decided to fiddle around with the AFEELA to see what sort of options there were for it. Decided to really just get the other two sports tire compounds, ballast, power limiter, and then just leave it. Even took it to GT Auto and all you're really able to do of note is install aftermarket wheels and change the license plate, but I understand that it's a prototype of an EV so I get how customization options would be limited.

Ultimately, I got a three-star ticket that netted me 10k credits, but I really don't mind. Much more interested in the two clean top-five finishes I got today.

Hanging out on the Nordschleife facing dozens of young and motivated contenders, challenging as well as enjoying an ambitious yet mindful run around the World's Best Track 😅
Made some new Friendships with some Similar minded people in that process.
Nothing beats GT7 with quality and Mindful drivers.

Yesterday... Did two of Daily Race C's with no quali time. Finished from 14th to 6th and 16th to 7th. DR got bumped to C!!! Then thought I'd try Race B. Lobby was full of B rated, with just two of us C's, and again no quali so started from 16th. Got up to 9th with just one track limit 0.5 sec pen, also had no collisions. I thought my DR would go up, but no. It went down!!! Thankfully not back to D. But why go down after finishing 6 places up?
 
Today, did three American Clubman Cup races, one at Trial Mountain, one at Watkins Glen and the third race at Daytona Road Course. I took 20 scape photos, did three drift sessions at Daytona, Suzuka and Laguna Seca and did a TT session at High Speed Ring in the Camaro. And that's all for now.
 
Today I :

  • messed around with a Civic eg '93 and drove it around Nurburgring. Who doesn't like a VTEC engine?
  • sold some very expensives duplicate cars after realizing I'd never tune/need them for anything. One copy of those cars is more than enough.
  • the despicable wheel of the day gave me a 458 Gr.3.
 
Ran the La Sarthe PP700 grind on my quest to earn 20mill credits, just so I can buy the McLaren when it next hits Hagerty and get that damn Extra Menu book done with. I keep getting hamstrung by other tasks though as I also had the Ferrari Speciale menu book to do, so had to buy the F40 and F50 from Hagerty last week, and then popped a Ferrari invite from a ticket last night. Now I've done the Ferrari Extra Menu, but I'm back down to below 5mill credits.

So at some point today I'll be doing the daily La Sarthe grind again.

I'm sure at some point PD said they don't want people grinding the same races because that isn't fun...
 
I've gotten near the credit limit again, so I've been tuning every car in my garage.

I started with 550pp builds for the Tsukuba Clubman Plus race. I had been chasing an amazing driver nearly broke the 1 minute lap barrier in a Porsche 930 Turbo.

Hilariously, all my builds, across drivetrains and across eras, have been getting into the 1:00.5 - 1:00.8 range.

As expected, the Porsche engined Samba Bus got the closest with 1:00.3 :lol:

The Fuji Special Event was a beast, especially with a very-bruised left middle finger. On the GTP account, it took hundreds of miles, but I managed a lucky win in 13:53 with an Enzo Ferrari on SS tires, mostly because the F40 race car and illegal LaFerrari rabbits started near the back.

The rest of the worst-paying (both overall and per-hour) Challenges went as follows:
  • Suzuka Japanese FF Challenger in 3:15 with a stock 2017 Suzuki Swift Sport
  • Red Bull Ring European FR Challenge in a dry 5:31 with a stock 2003 BMW M3
  • Watkins Glen American Clubman Cup in 10:06 with a stock Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE Package
  • Deep Forest VGT in a tight 10:21 with a stock Toyota FT-1 VGT (tight because the rabbit Porsche VGT started on the pole)
The parts Wheel of Despair gave yet another stroke up S for the 2002 Honda NSX, the car ticket gave an Aston Martin Valkyrie (hung onto for tuning purposes), and the 4-star Wheel of Despair gave the high-showing/lowest-possible 10,000 Cr.

On the Plus account, the Challenges went as such:
  • Suzuka in 3:02 with a stock 2020 Honda Civic
  • Red Bull Ring in 4:39 with a stock Aston Martin Vulcan (despite green on the radar, fortunately the track stayed dry)
  • Watkins Glen in 9:59 with a stock Chevrolet Corvette C7 ZR1
  • Deep Forest in an "unclean" 9:48 with a Lexus LF-LC GT VGT with the power restrictor set to 99% to get me down to 849 PP
  • Fuji in 13:57 with a stock Ferrari 330 P4
Even though the last race finished after midnight because of my futile attempt to get a clean race at Deep Forest, I did get the car ticket for completing all 5 races because I started before midnight. I didn't double-dip on the workout tickets, however, as I only put on 22.7 miles after midnight. The parts ticket gave some titanium rods/pistons for the Maserati MC20 (which I could use), the car ticket gave a McLaren VGT (hung onto for tuning purposes), and the 4-star Wheel of Despair gave the low-showing/lowest-possible 10,000 Cr.

Noticed an increase in cars rewarded on tickets? I think in the last 10 tickets I've pulled 6 cars, even on 3-star tickets, so I've been wondering if there was a background tweak to rewards.

I doubt it. The last tweak I know of (courtesy @ddm) was in the 1.17/1.18 updates (well before the introduction of the prize-only 6-star car tickets, which give a 100% chance of getting one of most* Brand Central cars worth at least 451,000 Cr., including most* invitation-only cars):
  • 3-stars give a cumulative 10% chance of getting a car (7% one of most* Brand Central cars worth between 30,000 Cr. and 100,000 Cr., 3% one of most* Brand Central cars worth between 101,000 Cr. and 450,000 Cr.)
  • 4-stars give a cumulative 14% chance of getting a car (8% one of most* Brand Central cars worth between 30,000 Cr. and 100,000 Cr., 5% one of most* Brand Central cars worth between 101,000 Cr. and 450,000 Cr., 1% one of most* Brand Central cars worth at least 451,000 Cr., including most* invitation-only cars)
  • 5-stars give a cumulative 27% chance of getting a car (20% one of most* Brand Central cars worth between 101,000 Cr. and 450,000 Cr., 7% one of most* Brand Central cars worth at least 451,000 Cr., including most* invitation-only cars
  • Normal 6-stars give a 40% chance of getting one of most* Brand Central cars worth at least 451,000 Cr., including most* invitation-only cars
* Cars that are or could be prize cars from the original 39 Menu Books or original license tests cannot be won via tickets
