In the span of 20 minutes, I completed two of the 5 new events, and I must say I am disappointed that instead of the restrictions given in the first two batches (making us work for the credits and exp.), the new events are just a free for all requiring just the car.đź‘Ž

they were sony's appology for that f-ing nascar nur-ring BS

What apology was needed? That event wasn't that difficult. In fact, the both Tsukuba events were harder than that one.

Nascar is so easy in this game it isn't even funny. I am from Nascar 09 on PS3 where the cars will slide out if you hit the accelerater over 50%. I was ranked #3 Overall on that game. It makes this nascar feel like NFS.

Yeah, I guess... It was kinda ridiculous - I sat down and Gold-ed all but the Prius race, which I Silver-ed.

The Prius race was the hardest of the 5 I think, because once you maxed out the Prius, it STILL wasn't really any faster than anyone else.

I'm not a Nascar fan by any means, but I thought that race was some of the most fun to be had in the game.

So you're saying that's what feels realistic to you? I've never driven a Nascar before but I'd bet those guys aren't tooling around lap after lap at half throttle. Have you tried playing GT5 with all the driving aids -including skid recovery force- turned off? I mean no disrespect, but this game is only as realistic and (perhaps more to the point) as difficult as you choose to make it.

Blitz, do the RX7 at tsukuba 394hp event with no aids and THEN Tell me its easy and you only need a standard car.

Took me 3 solid days to beat that.

It's on your own how much you upgrade your car for a specific race. Just check before how strong the competitors are and bring your car on a equal level. I do that in A-spec and I'm going to do that for the new seasonal events.

You can decide between disappointment and fun by yourself...

I am not a Nascar fan but due to this game I think I can appreciate it without any elitist attitude.

I thought the seasonal events were fantastic.. on one or two of the events I had to explore various race tuning options, it's improved my understanding on setting up the cars and has already led to me tuning some others I have to great effect.. bring some more to the party is what i say.. and the Nascar at the Ring is a blast..(well actually anything at the ring is a blast, enjoy it while you can ... http://savethering.org/ )

PD can't win can they...

People complain about lack of money... PD introduce new events with high payout

People complain new events are too hard... PD reduce difficulty of new events

People complain new events are too easy

I know what your saying stotty but i think theyve gone a bit too far here (I havent even checked them out yet though!)

Its akin to letting someone at the bottom of the premiership take players from any team they like to play for them in thier next game.

I personally think the RX7 one was a little too hard (havent done the nascar @ the ring yet) but just removing the restrictions completely is abit silly i think.

The RX7 one for instance would have been more fun i think if you were allowed maybe 20bhp more, or possibly a bit less BHP and sports mediums rather than hards. Just something that makes a sub 1:01 possible with a tiny mistake; because at the moment, if you make ANY mistakes or get stuck behind a car for one corner too long, youve screwed the whole event.

The special events are just what you make of them. If you want a challenge then run them in a completely stock car with stock tires, it'll be just as hard as the previous round.

but if, like me, you're not a GT god it's pretty damn depressing to watch all of that EXP and money slip away at the end of the week.

With this round I was at least able to slap on an ECU and an air filter and be competitive. The last round was so infuriatingly difficult for me that I wasn't enjoying playing.

The special events are just like almost any of the A spec career events... you can choose to take a super powerful car and overpower them if you wish or you choose something more evenly matched.

The events will help the less talented drivers get a nice chunk of cash and exp... and good for them :)

I would rank myself as below (FAAR below) average when it comes to simulated driving, put me in NFS and i blow the competition away in any car...having said that, I ABSOLUTELY LOVED the seasonal races and only managed to gold about 2/3rds of them and best i managed on Nur-ring in the Nascar was 9th...i was hoping for some more of equal difficulty, not less :(

My sentiments exactly Bro, i actually feel sorry for Pd for having to cater to a bunch of ungratefull fools, I swear this game could do a strip and lapdance and they would still complain:)

Wow... Only done the C4 WRC race, but is this some sort of joke?

1.5m and 120k exp for quite possibly the easiest race since I used an X1 to do the Sunday Cup...

I hope not. I like how they were challeging but the big rewards are absurd. I like to work to get my favourite cars but completing Seasonal Events is like winning the lottery.

Prepare to be disappointed >_>

One of my favourite's is the Citroen C4 WRC, beautifully stable car, no under or oversteer, unless you yank on the handbreak to give it a kick, and great speed, and I finised 34 seconds ahead :/.

It's odd though that they unrestriced the nascar bonus race now as well

i just took my 900hp ford and it let me enter.

I'm glad some new events are here. Finally I have purpose for my prius :)

I never thought I'd see the day where I load up a Prius with a 'Racing Exhaust'. Shame it can't take a turbo.

Great news I need some credits (to buy a few race cars) and XP to get to lvl 35.
Its just sad that what makes others miserable makes me happy... guess thats life

yeah, they weren't challenging really. I tired to do minimal update to the car that would increase horsepower, i did the ecu, air filter, those sorts of things, but then tuned the suspension and improved the transmission, after i did the lotus event first using my fully tuned elise i already owned and found it to be laughably easy.

It is about driving for me not winning.

Start with a standard car:

1) Too fast, get worse tires on it or take a lower car.
2) Too slow, tune it till it is interesting
If you can not make it, go out to find info how others did it, use the Practice to improve yourself. Finally see you can improve, or that this level is too much for you at this moment.

my personal favourite of all the seasonals has been the RX-7 challenge, i didnt think the first set of seasonals were too difficult, and as for the second set the RX-7 one was the only one to puzzle me, even the nascar challenge, which up till then I believed they handled like some kind of boat were surprisingly good fun and by the end of a few tries of that challenge I'd won it and found out how to even better tune the suspension of the cars I own. It took me about a week of trying 2 different RX-7's, an older one and one of the newest ones. By then end of the week I'd come up with a tuning set up which worked very well. The 'max power' 'min weight' ideas of the previous two seemed to ave hit the nail on the head for me, i just hope they return soon.
