So, they removed the PP system that was in Prologue & now we're getting it back apparently, but are we gonna be able to choose between that & the bhp/weight system we currently have? PD are famous for randomly removing features between games in the GT series, are they gonna start shelving things in GT5 we've come to rely on via updates now aswell, hmmm...:nervous:

I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop... :scared:

What other features & options can you think of that PD removed from game to game that annoyed you? :grumpy:

:ill:

The smallest most basic thing I am disappointed that they dropped was the odometer showing the mileage while you drive. It was entertaining to see how long certain sections of a track was.

GT4 had a Fast Forward option when watching replays but they removed that for GT5. Common sense says that you build on something & add to it to make it more functional for users, sometimes PD tend to do the opposite.

:ouch:

Yeah basically the idea is to simplify the game by incrementally removing things until we are just left with the R34 Skyline and Cape Ring B-Spec.

Soon there will be just NEO and Smith. Unplug while you can!

lmfao!

👍

I miss A, B, and C setup saves for each car. WTF, why did PD remove that? Giive me a setup save for each track? Why the hell not?

I concur with BWX the 3 set ups per car in GT4 was great, different set ups for different types of track which saves you having to adjust every setting just to do a different track

They've also removed NOS (handy if its a tight race and you're neck and neck as you approach the finish line)

No fast forward for B spec
No updating the lead time in bspec on each sector of a track. In GT5 it only updayes how much you lead or trail by when you cross the finish line-hopeless

They removed the ability of GT4 to just do a single race on any track against a random pack of opponents sure you;d only get 500 for it but it allowed to quickly try out cars in a real race

No more Mid field! Great fun to drive track bring it back Yamauchi-san

They've removed a coherent tire wear indicator, prevuious versions were easier to gauge wear eg blue to green to yellow to orange then red now its just a less blue Jesus.W.Christ if it ain't broke don't fix it

Given Yamauchi-san's track record at being out of touch with what players want I'd say its entirely likely that feautures would be removed via updates

They would have been better to just do GT4 again with new tracks and cars, better graphicc and online racing rather than GT5

Maintenance will be done at 10 PM EST to 11 PM EST, so I think that is update #5. I have seen alot of features removed for few reasons.

The simple ability to time a car over 400m, a decent rally mode, modification options displacement increase in particular

No good can come of this.

Good can certainly come of this if they remove useless stuff (like damage model) and replace it with good stuff (LIKE FITTING WHEELS TO STANDARD CARS, PD GOD DAMN IT INCLUDE THIS FEATURE IN THE NEXT UDPATE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :nervous::nervous::nervous::nervous::nervous::nervous:).

Giving Polyphony Digital an internet connection may prove costly, but I also think they've learned from the mistakes of Day 1 GT5. The patches have all been improvements, as far as I'm concerned. GT5 is slowly getting to where I would expect a Gran Turismo game to be and this side step doesn't disrupt that for me.

:ouch:

i really want this back

I totaly forgot about NOS in GT4.. that was fun for me to use it.. pity there is no in GT5..
Fast forward in replays was great..

hey! can someone please make all this info together (make a list of things) what GT5 had removed. that would be usefull. more usefull would be to send it to PD somehow!

Well, I'm really impressed as they haven't removed anything as far as I can tell. We get to choose bewtween the Performance Points & BHP/Weight systems in online races & can use either Top Speed, tune individual gear ratios or both in car Setting.

Well done PD, now keep adding things to the game without taking anything away & you'll be onto a winner, think evolution not devolution!

Would been nice to be able turn on/off Tyre/Fuel in Practice mode too & how about paying out credits & exp points for the One Make races in Practice mode, that'd be nice.
