shame indeed, the whole reason I didn't start endurance on A yet, can't be arsed doing that **** in a row and I'm not gonna use pause and have my ps3 running for 6 days

well said, ive started the endurance races twice now then got interupted both times and had to go out, when i got back the machine had been switched off by my wife both times!! :grumpy:

I understand that saving in the middle of a endurance race is not easily implemented, but in a championship between races should be relatively easy?

I guess the main problem is how they would need to "lock" the setup of a car while "the championship was ongoing".

I think the biggest problem is the fact that you have one general save file unlike the usual save where you go to a ps home like screen and have various slots

They added and fixed SO many features in 1.06 update, they could get to those issues that were not addressed next time, ya know? The list of mods/changes was very long, almost a full page. Props to PD for changing what they did, adding what they did, and fixing what they did. The save during mid-championship would sure be nice, but some of the other things are a bigger deal IMO. Bravo PD, almost 100% there !

I could imagine they would implement it like driving into the pits, and you would see another option next to the tires/fuel dialog, that enables you to 'save progress' and then you will return to the GT Home screen. Just a little like in real life :)

x2

There's also the possibility that they saw this in the feedback section, but they don't want to put it in. Just a thought...

Isn't the whole point of endurance exactly that? Where is the endurance part of being able to save it and walk away at your leisure?

The OP is talking about a championship series(not enduro, multiple races with 1 overall winner of the combined races via a points system). This is a totally different topic, FYI. 👍

you're completely right !! back on-topic now :)

I really can't see myself doing the FGT Championship without being able to save midway. I'm not leaving my console running for one week just to complete that stupid cup!!

thats true i suppose, we're quick to moan when they dont do something but slow to say thanks when they do. i know im guilty of moaning alot.

I have discussed this before, but I think the way that GT Life is implemented sadly makes endurance race saves impossible.

Well then they have one unhappy customer

To be honest I don't care to much but I would love that platinum trophy.

Sorry, my mistake! I guess I was a little too quick to jump because the whole issue of being unable to save mid-enduro does irk me somewhat. It's a conversation about game completion, not doing the actual events as they intended, as tests of endurance.👍

Back on topic as it was originally intended I wholeheartedly agree about the saving mid-championship, no harm in that at all!

Not being able to save mid championship is not a problem for the shorter races, but 6 x 20 laps for FGT!!!!!

I've been going through them one at a time as individual races to get the practice in and that's frustrating enough. Half way round the last lap at Monza I was leading and a little twitch resulted in a slight off that sent me to the back of the queue. Fair enough, I suppose, this thing can happen in real life, but in real life, F1 drivers get a week or two off between races to recover!

I guess if you allowed saves, people would revert to previous saved games every time they screwed up in a race. I know I would have, given the Monza incident!

at least to combine a- spec and b-spec in endurances...

👍
Just don't understand why they felt the need to separate A and B spec

They should have kept it as it was in GT4 and made room on the disc for more races in the game.

I'm also gutted they haven't included this in the new update and wish they will just patch it ASAP...GT4 had the option to save midway through a championship...how hard can it be to just patch this in?! :ill:

Quite right, saving in a race is much more complex than saving during a championship.

You could save during a championship in GT4, the game would indeed lock your car setup etc... so it's not as if they have to reinvent the procedures :(

Why, oh why...:(
It`s #1 in feedback section, so much for PD checking gtplanet.net...

Why? Simple in my opinion - Sony wouldn't let them. They quite like seeing PS3's tied up in pause mode because there's a chance that personal or family frustration at this will lead to purchase of an additional PS3.

My suggestion is that such cynicism should be rewarded by purchase of competing products such as Wii, XBox etc.

Your logic is flawed beyond belief. People use pause mode to rest or take a break, not to let the family watch TV.
