You're more than welcome to sign up for a Division, even if you will only make one Part of the series. You are also welcome to sign up for more than one Division. Or different parts, as your schedule allows. There is no pressure here! :embarrassed:) We just want to have fun racing our Spitfires!

Rules: You will be expected to know, understand, and follow the GTP OLR Rules
The host (that's me) enjoys watching replays loads, so it will be noticed if anyone is doing anything they ought not to be.
Drive cleanly, and take care to avoid accidents. That said, accidents may happen, so follow the Contact Consession procedure if you cause one. Penalties will be assessed (and potentially lessened), based upon Contact Concession conduct. Report any trouble or incidents to the host privately, and the reports will be treated in confidence, checked for nature & validity, and additional time penalty or disqualification may result, depending on the situation, at the host's discretion, using the advice of a non-participating spectator and/or participating Vintage Car Race Club member.

Please note:
Clear cache in GT5 before arriving. Suggest rebooting game and/or PS3 as well. Arrive promptly for the "Vision Check" which will take place before qualifying starts. Steps to solve the problem will be taken if the problem is discovered during the Vision Check period, before qualifying starts. If one is late, the Vision Check will take place for that person instead of qualifying. If the Vision Check is not successful for a late arrival, unfortunately it will not be possible for that driver to participate, in order to be fair to those who have already qualified, and need the races to start in order to finish within the allotted time frame.

I am in. I will be in my same ole Blue Spitfire. I would like to sign up for Division Z, both parts.

I can host some practise sessions next Wednesday (22nd) and/or Thursday. Best time is at 9pm London time (4pm New York?).

If anyone wants this, please let me know by posting on this thread.

Im in - but it's a mixed bag of divisions because of my schedule next month:

Part 1 - Division Z
Part 2 - Division X

IMZIZ/ IMZIZ/ Pimento (a.k.a. Red)

JLawrence
JLawrence_
Some shade of green I believe (I haven't been on in a month =p)
Sign me up for all of em, and just keep me posted as to what exactly's goin on Melon.

I also just realized I can make it to Part 2 of the first two divisions, so even though I will be out on points, I can still fill out the field.

This is cool. And that's part of the reason you will see the different standings under "Championship Points Tallys". I tried to set it up so that no matter how your schedule is, you'll have some manner of competition to be involved in. :)

Now2 if only i could decide what colour to go for... - I went with an authentic spitfire colour last time , now I think it's time for something a little more exciting - I have just painted a Ferrari British Racing Green so I'm in an adventurous mood.

Will let you know as soon as I make my mind up

 Yes, I suppose you are, considering your recent choice of Raspberry Red Pearl for your BMW M5. ;) That said, my BMW 135i I used in the FRS & plan to use in the Triple S, is already Raspberry Red Pearl!

I'm just glad CC570 is sticking with his MAPLE Spitfire, & Jujubean is sticking with his blue. They both photomode well... ;) and yeah, I'm a paint chip & photomode geek. I admit it. :guilty:

May I recommend Kenya Orange?
(just a thought)

Sign me up for division Y.
I will put the link to this thread in the news flash I will post later this day on the WSCC home page.

So has anyone got the Mount TopMore (Mt Aso) track yet & tried it? :)

I'm going to try to have a practice scheduled at least every few days, if nobody else does.

@RDAardvark: I listed your proposed practices. I will make Wednesday, if all is well. Thanks!
Did you receive your prize car I sent? heehee :D
Have you watched the demo for it? It has the best demo!!
I'm planning to organize a race for that one for sure!!
I was thinking of doing it at stock, unmodified. But I really think I'll restrict it so that you have to use the power limiter at 65% & add 200kg of ballast. And we'll be taking it on Nürburgring Nordschleife, Toscana tarmac, & Special Stage Route 7. I'll pencil you in. ;)

@JLawrence: Orange, bright, but not gaudy. I'm pretty sure I have just the one. I was just looking through my paint chips earlier to find something loud & gaudy to paint RDAardvark's prize car. hahaha. ;)

@jackargent: Is Verde Countach that really bright green?

@turbogeit: Thanks for the promo. :) The more the merrier!

@jackargent: Is Verde Countach that really bright green?

[/I]

yes have tried mount topmore & found it a good challenge - quite similar to a track in one of the seasonals especailly the first bend but can't remember which one. Combination of fairly long straights & tight corners will make transmission settings crucial.

yes, Countach green is pretty bright. Funnily enough about an hour after I painted it another spitfire appeared in my UCD - painted in the delft blue that I'd just painted over! I may change colour again - there seems to be an awful lot of green - am now thinking yellow - I think chrome would be just a little OTT.

Hoping to make most of the practice sessions - in the hope that practice makes perfect (some hope!)

I've not been on the ps3 these last few days :(
However, I will be on later on today, probably from around 8pm London time. (too late for the Capp Cup though). I've some testing to do but I'm sure I'll spend an hour or so driving my Spit. Looking forward to trying out your Mt Aso track.

Sounds like great fun, but scheduling is an issue for me. I might be able to make the first weekend date in July, but won't know until close to the weekend. Hope I can!!!

Whew Wee, ain't that the truth. I didn't fiddle with my settings much, but having enough gear in the straights being able to get up the steep hill after the second corner or so... It should be interesting to see people's tuning solutions.

Yes, transmission settings on Mount TopMore will be important... There's uphill parts, one turn where you have to slow down drastically at the top of a hill.
Any set-up changes I make for a track, I make sure I keep a note of, so that I'm ready to change the settings between the races.
Having a proper top speed to allow for potential drafting on the rolling downhill straight. And of course there is an "optimum" way to hit the uphill part... But when there's other cars on the track, you can't depend on being able to implement that!!
Group practice races on this track will be very helpful in figuring that out.

TODAY:
18 June - New York: Sat 6:00pm - 7:00pm EDT / London: Sat 11:00pm - Midnight BST/GMT+1
short practice races on Part 1 tracks
watermelonpunch / wat3rm370n (practice host)

But anyone who hasn't tried the Mount TopMore track yet, shouldn't be too concerned. It's a fun track for sure. But it's quite short, so not difficult to learn & remember.

But you don't want to have an accident at the bottom of the hill before you have to climb upwards with so little HP! hahaha.
Not that I think that will be a large problem. As our previous Spitfire races did not have a great many incidents of car contact or crashes, despite the car being somewhat keen on losing its back end occasionally.
I've actually been thinking of making a video of the 1st corners of the races from last time.
Because some of them were almost eerily devoid of "1st corner drama". It was like everyone was driving through an elderly nun slalom on the 1st turn, with pregnant women in the cars, and grandmas with babies lined up along the curbs.

ok, pregnant women in cars...I won´t even go there....:)

watermelonpunch, turbo has warmly recommended Mount TopMore, so I´ll send you a friend invite tonight, it could be fun trying it out.

-Now that you have carefully planned ALL races..and ALL practice sessions so I cant participate.....

:)

These forums are full of people constantly moaning about everything that is missing from GT5.

You have hit on the one event that is really missing - how good a special event would this make?:cheers::rolleyes:

They really should have done more with the TopGear License.

I won't be able to make the practice session tonight :(

I might try to plan some of my own, and I will post them in this thread if I do.

My lounge is open as of now (8:40 London time) for Spit practise. Initially at Mt Topmore.

I'll be popping in and out so please carry on if you find I'm parked in the pits.

haha. I was just trying to think of every possible thing that might make someone drive cautiously.
Though the one & only road accident I was ever in, the person who caused the accident had a pregnant woman in the car with him. And I live not far from a city hospital that has a cross walk with many signs that people with crutches & wheel chairs will be crossing the street, on a short block with 2 Stop Signs at the ends, and a couple of months ago, I saw a car go speeding through the crosswalk while 2 elderly Catholic nuns in full habits, were about to cross the street. :(

@ID_racing: You mean we're not friends already? That's not right! I will add you as soon as I sign on a bit later.
But of course you are welcome to any of our practices, even though I managed to squeeze you out of our schedules again!
It's terrible... I really wanted you to be able to join us... I have even considered thinking about adding yet another division!! Seriously - if you suggest some times, and I can manage any of them, I'll just add it right in at this point. LOL Even if it's just the 2 of us!! haha.
I'm at the end of my wits about scheduling.

But I'm getting a lot better at figuring out time zones!! I've translated the race time into 7 different time zones. :D (I may have gotten a little carried away.)

 Good one!

I really enjoyed the Schwimwagens!! How they'd come swooping through.
I might organize some kind of kooky fun race for the Schwimwagens. They're wholly ridiculous, of course. The Kubelwagen I have souped up is bizarre how well it handles, for example. It's just wrong. But I think it could be humourous, and a bit of interesting entertainment. haha.

Sure, let me know if ever I can post something in the OP. I want to get as much practice, and hopefully group practice, as I fit in for myself. I want to be ready for IMZIZ and AOK. ;) haha. At least not to get lapped by them on Eiger in the rain!

You get confused about timezones, and I get confused about timezones and friendinvites, so yes, maybe we already are friends 💡
Dont worry about the not being able to join thing..Its difficult for me to find time to race at the moment, so it is almost impossible to fit me in anywhere.

But I sure would like to race that spitfire......:)
