Where are the time trial leaderboards in GT5? Please don't tell me they are gone. GT5 doesn't even seem to record your lap times online like Prologue always did in time trial mode. I was looking so much forward to this feature but it seems to be strictly offline. Am I blind or is this brilliant online feature gone?
 
I say wait until the game officially releases tomorrow. But I hope they're not gone. The leader boards in GT5P got me interested in doing time trials in the first place.

It is officially released here in the UK, but they are not up an hour after release time :(

I see.

Could they be waiting until it's available worldwide first? I hope this is the case. Time trail leader boards would greatly extend the life of this game for a lot of people. This feature is a must for a game this massive.
 
Such a relief to find this thread because i've been moaning all day about the lack of leaderboards. Surely PD won't be this foolish to leave out leaderboards!

If they do then I might lose all motivation to play GT5. Im now used to playing racing games that have leaderboards i.e FM2/3, GT5P. The days of just completing single player are long gone. Going by the few replies on this thread I feel some are still living in the past and haven't moved with the times.

This is exactly what they are doing. PD doesn't want to tick off the rest of the world who has NOT gotten the game yet ( U.S.), by releasing leaderboards that we cannot be a part of. Leader boards should be implemented when the game goes "worldwide", not just when the U.k. gets it....that wouldn't be fair.
 
Oh no, there HAS to be time trial leaderboards! I'm not terribly fond of racing people online but I had a lot of fun checking online leaderboards in GT5:P and racing their times and ghosts. :ill:
 
Be interesting how they handle all the cars and weather types. It does seem PD are still working on them and aren't sure themselves maybe.

Shame how reviewers miss out on this feature. PD have really messed up.
 
I don't mean to post again so soon but I GOTTA know the answer to this.. this is HUGE if GT5 doesn't have online leaderboards for the tracks.. :scared: I'm going to be so bummed.. :grumpy:
 
Just read the IGN review and like I said about reviewers, they mention the game should have TT tables like Forza 3. PD should have these at least partly up for Premiums. GT5P actually had a great system and I feel raised the bar here as it was done very well in GTHD ages ago too.

We pretty much expect them to appear later in some fashion.
 
Hey Ivor! It's aj the boy. Why am I not surprised to find you here!? haha. I just got my copy about an hour ago and so far have spent my time looking for the damn leaderboards. Glad to know im not the only one who cant find them.

The whole, It'll turn up later approach. Even damage.
 
This is stunning.. :( No online track leaderboards.. I cannot understand this at all. GT5:P had them. Why not GT5 proper? Can't believe it.

I wasn't clear enough before mate, sorry. The "we pretty much expect them to appear..." wasn't my or our fans attitude being expressed. Just actually saying PD will add them (probably) but the reviewers can't review or talk about something not there.

More importantly, for a game this long in the making, the great job they did with GTHD/GT5P Time-Trial replay system, it's a crying shame they're not in from day 1 for people who like them.

Well, I hope it gets sorted out soon, coz how else are we gonna compete against the Stig....:-)
 
Perhaps they are waiting to use the servers from GT5:P.

Maybe they are shutting down the TT's on that tomorrow at the end of the current month's events?
 
^^ I hope so, I'll give them a week to get them up.

If they are not in then its a potential game breaker for me (seriously) they added to the longetivity of the game. Especially since I am not really in to the online racing.
 
Just got off after a 5 hr session. Ran the first 3 licence tests, a few beginners class races and then went into arcade to time trial and set a time on the leaderboards. There were none to be found.

If this is indeed correct, and they aren't added in the next few days, it's a MASSIVE letdown for me, as i gained immense enjoyment and learnt many a great deal about how to get around quicker in GT5P.
 
I am starting to see more and more stuff that makes me fearful - this is a big deal to create a long lasting online community. How could it possibly have been overlooked or intentionally left out? Did the 1.01 patch do anything?

Well thats what happens when the US gets games before everyone else and always has been the case.

So why would it only be unfair now?
 
I'm pretty sure they will appear soon. I was worried when I couldn't find them, but they probably want to wait until the whole world has the game so no one gets an unfair head start setting times. Then again, it could be a server problem either, who knows.

But let's not forget GT Academy '11 is coming and that means there will definitely be a leader board appearing for the Americans, so maybe the rest of the world will get full leader board support around that time too.

Hey Aj it's MMA stubby/ AZT Jersey. Am i gonna be chasing you down on GT Academy too like i did (tried to do) in the Hyundia challenge. Good to see some high profile forza names over here. My PSN name is TDRdirtyjersey (I know the TDR are long gone) maybe we can get some good racing in some night.

BTW while I am here, can anyone confirm to me that you are able to restrict which cars people use in online racing? One review said it is just a free for all. X1 only if you wish to win. Is this really true?

If the game doesn´t have this, then it´s the first petition online.

This is huge, it made Prologue last for me.

It´s a HUGE letdown if it´s not up. I hope they fix this quickly, GT HD and Prologue gave us a taste of what we would have in GT5 and i don´t want them to change it.

I need online rankings. I'm willing to swap damage, weather, day/night AND another €60 for it just to get it back
 
FYI - just ran to Best Buy and picked up a second copy of the CE, just in case UPS doesn't come through on the copy that is out for delivery today! They only had 4 CE copies left!

The back of the box specifically says: Leaderboards
 
Since Jordan has a Q and A with Kaz tomorrow; maybe comeone could PM Jordan to ask Kaz if and when Time Trial leaderboards will be implemented? I have no idea how to contact Jordan
 
Leaderboards were a good indication of fast times on each lap with each car.. so I'll certainly miss them if they are gone.
