1 out of 6.000.000.
I doubt your oppinion matters.

Seriously, if you think that I'm the ONLY person who thinks this way you are a complete fool. I've NEVER seen such negative discussion about ANY GT game since I've been on this website. This is the sort of thing I'd expect to see on a Forza websites GT5 section, not on a MAJOR Gran Turismo site.

just trying to decrease the temperature..
He said you ore one out of 6.000.000. If I am not wrong that means that, possibly 5.994.000.000 (+ more) may share your idea...

I am really missing the Leaderboards. I would be satisfied with 100 stock cars ,20 tracks, and a 'friends only' filter on the boards.

Anyone else see the irony?

GT5's community seems to have a tendency to cheat, and yet people are still asking for leaderboards.

Well you can see the fastest cheat I suppose.

wow...............just wow :dunce:

👎

If I was running PD, I wouldn't release any update that includes leaderboards until I could ensure that cheating wouldn't infect the standings.

We have all seen what as happened to the Seasonal Time Trials and GT Academy.

Sad to say, but a few rotten degenerates has ruined it for the rest of us!

EDIT: Spagetti69: Of course. It's everywhere I go now on Racing games.

We shouldn't let them ruin it for the rest of us. Like I said earlier, their times are so ridiculous that it's obvious they've cheated. These people should just be ignored until PD fixes the exploit.

A lot of people want leaderboards, primarily so they can have fun racing against their friend's times. PD shouldn't let cheaters ruin it for the rest of us.
This feature should have been in there fully from the start, and they should have done a better job quality testing their tracks too.

Problem arises if they ever need to wipe the boards. This has happened before.

Imagine taking time to attack the boards and then turning on your console one day to find all your work in vain.

They do need to sort the glitches first really.

One way to stop alot of cheating is to cover up all those holes in the walls where you ram your car in. Yes it may not be super duper realistic but its a quick and easy fix to have a solid wall all the way around. And as for track cutting, just have manditory penalties on so if all four tires go off you get a penalty for like 5 seconds.

There in lies the problem. It has been rampant enough to cancel an entire round of GT Academy. One that I was confident I belonged in if it weren't for the cheating ( I barely missed the cut off).

I have had to accept that, and I am fully behind PD taking there time to implement the leaderboards ONLY if steps are taken to ensure to its fairness.

Agreed. I am not sure if this what you are talking about but Forza 's leaderboards are a sore subject to me as well!

Not having leaderboards on a racing game in 2011 is beyond lame. I don't like online so for me racing games are all about who can do a lap in the fastest time. I don't think AI counts. So I'm left with racing against my best time. So what. Boring.

PD needs to do something for leaderboards. Anything.

I played the heck out of GT5 for two months. I made the first list of the top speed of every car that went over 200 mph. Got every car I wanted and I haven't been back. I check every once in a while here to see if leaderboards are up.

I'll be back in a few weeks.

Later.

Why on earth don't you just join GTP_WRS if you like offline and hot laps... Here is your leader board:

No AI, no exploiting glitches and definitely not boring!

It should be really easy to implement leaderboards: ANY contact with wall or barrier the lap is invalidated, three or more wheels OFF the racing surface the lap is invalidated.

I think the holdup lies in the number of combos.

👍 for 'your' invalid 'rules'

I have a different opinion about the combos:
They can start with some limitations.
E.g a hundred of selected cars vs 20 tracks as a start
They can unlock things later on,...

I'm wondering if we'll ever see them sometime between now and GT6..

How important is it for you?

Any theories on to why we can't get them?

The leaderboards are very important for me and the primary reason I bought GT5 after having had much fun with the demo. So I was disappointed to find out that this feature didn't make its way to the full game. I'm starting to doubt we will actually get them in GT5. Version 2.0 is out and all we still have are those unimaginative Seasonal time trials.

Probably we are not getting them because PD are nervous about people finding more glitches. Its a shame, that was my most favourite feature in Prologue.

A leaderboard would definitely do this game some good.

I highly doubt that. Server issues are more likely, but honestly, I have no clue.

I don't see why you would doubt such explanation. Look at all the time trials where glitches have been found by players. With the amount of track layouts there is in the game, it may cause a problem.

Those glitches can easily be fixed if some they'd dedicated some time to it.

I'm pretty sure that one of the previous patches fixed that problem. I think it made sure that cars would be reset to track when glitching out of it.

Maybe such has been a solution. I'm not sure but that was my though on why PD may have left out time trials.
I honestly loved the Mercedes Top Gear event. It was the most fun I ever had in GT5 for months. It was a great achievement to finish in the top 200. I would like to see more of this in the future for sure.

I guess one of the problems implementing leaderboards for GT5 is the sheer number of car/track combos. Prologue only had 12 track variations and 76 cars (I think), which is 912 combinations. Double that for the drift boards too, and that's about 2,000 leaderboards.

GT5 has 71 tracks, not counting time/weather variations or the new DLC tracks. Multiply that by over 1k cars and double it for drift boards, and that's a whopping 142,000 leaderboards.

That's quite a big leap!

And they couldn't have them for "just" some tracks and the arcade cars?

Just because a separate board for every single car and track combo isn't feasible, doesn't mean they can't have more then two. 💡

Every single leaderboard defense fans have quipped up throughout the past year is worn out. There is no excuse to only have two anymore.

Where are the leaderboards?

Are they ever coming?

No word from Pd. Game's been out quite a while, if they intended to add them I'm sure they would have done so, or at least stated their intention to, by now.
As it stands 2 TT's every few weeks, where PD decide the conditions, is pretty weak in a AAA driving game in 2011. I hope they look at how their competition implements them, and deliver proper leaderboard support for Gt6.
