I heard leaderboads. I certianly hope it is not just time trail leaderboards. I guess they are ok but I like building and tuning cars and like to see how these cars stack up. We need leaderboards that show the best of our cars.

What Kaz and PD say is like the old fill one hand with hopes and dreams and the other with crap and see which fills up first.

Maybe someone following Kaz's tweets or come across this in the news? For me racing games are all about the leaderboards.

I might get epic facepalm for this, but I cant find any form of leaderboards in practice/arcade/time trial. They were in GTPrologue, so why not GT5?

They have 4 leaderboard events in the Seasonal Events, I guess that will have to do for now. Hopefully they add proper ones soon, as I too want these badly!

Hallo Guys

Does anybody knows when does the so important leaderboards come?
I feel like the hole game sucks, without this.

"Hallo" my friend...............

They will come when P.D decide to implement them, which should be in the next few updates.

As to saying the game sucks without them , hmmmm thats a bit far fetched

Your still playing it? so it cant suck that bad.

There are some leaderboards in the seasonal events for time trial and drifting but they don't stay around forever. What would fixed leaderboards be like in a racing game? Would it be a best time for each track and the most wins online etc?

Hey all. If, like me, you were shocked and mystified at the omission of global TT leaderboards nows your chance to bring it to PD's attention through the Feedback forum here on this site.

Restricted TT's (as in Prologues Arcade Time Trial) were a godsend for the online community and great for improving your skills on your own.

My plans for GT5( and, of course, I had a long time to plan) were to first and foremost run some TTs and get my name up on some leaderboards. But as we all know this great aspect of the game was not to be.

Now, while I hope that it must be a priority at PD to get these up and running, I'd like it done sooner, rather than later.

So, if you agree and would like to see leaderboards up before they let us put stickers on our cars and let it rain at Laguna Seca then VOTE, VOTE VOTE VOTE!

Heres the link: Global TT's Please

👍👍👍 Together we can change the world:lol::lol::lol:

While I'm not into the business side of things my brother-in-law mentioned that Sony hadn't been doing all that well and could probably use the money when GT5 came out. Hopefully they hired more employees at PD to get things happening quicker. Should be a patch coming out soon. Hope it has leaderboards.

I hope you're right. We should be due another patch soon. I just want to make sure they know how much they are needed and that any modern racing game should have them.

Yea, without a comprehensive LB system for the entire game, I can't see myself playing much longer as I've done all of career I'm willing to sit through, and am quickly growing irritated at the unicorn hunting for cars in the UCD.

I keep hoping that the reason they weren't there from the start, and the reason they're taking so long to implement them is that they're in the background working out the kinks. Better to have them delayed and be good and legit when they're released than get them early and have them be glitch riddled and worthless.

I fully expect that PD know the importance of LB's and imagine that they are working on them. I just wouldn't want to sit around thinking "No need to mention it because they are probably working on it", then 6 months later we are still without them.

I respectfully disagree. They maybe did once, hence the appearance of online TT in GT5P... but omitting them from GT5 implies apathy on their part. They've had long enough already to "work on it", particularly with the delays in releasing GT5. The fact is, they removed it as a feature which doesn't give me much confidence in PD's understanding of consumer requirements in this instance. I would, in fact, state confidently that PD have become almost completely detatched from reality when it comes to reading the GT community and its needs.

I have duly added my vote and hope fervently I am wrong about their apathy regarding GT5's game features generally.

TT? Whats that?:dunce:

*update/ Whoops, Sorry for my ignorance

Yes, Time trial Leaderboards make lots of sense, but wont they just be dominated by the X2010?

I to was shocked and disgusted this wasn't in the game out of the gate.

As VagabondAngel so elegantly stated, i to completely agree that PD has totally lost touch with what the gamers want. And to my complete disappointment i feel they are joined by many a developer. We get NOTHING in the line of advancements these days. We just get a different engine slapped onto better graphics with the same low feature set. Games of 10 years ago totally owned then with features and polish!

Why is it that in a RACING GAME we don’t even have track splits listed during a race? GT5 seems to think its ok to NOT show your splits part way through a race.

Why is it that in a RACING GAME we don’t get splits from next car forward AND next car behind?

Why is it that in a RACING GAME we have no options to see our fastest lap time in a race qualify… only the fastest lap time?

How is it that in a racing game so large that we can’t type in a name and description of a reply?

How is it even possible to come to fruition that in a racing game that plays on being beautiful graphically that we can’t even change views in replays or fast forward… rewind… slow motion.. frame advance… skip to another car focus without delving 8 menu’s deep WHILST blacking out the screen?

I can go on and on and ON!

It’s just not cricket.

Just like Modern Warfare 2… Gran Turismo 5 is an excellent engine let down by a complete lack of front end features and outright depth and polish and unfortunately that just means it’s a swing and a miss.

:(

I don't think it was apathy that made the GT5p TTLB's disappear. If it were apathy, you'd expect nothing to change...

I think it was malice! What else actually explains it?!

Yes, Time trial Leaderboards make lots of sense, but wont they just be dominated by the X2010?

Prologue had leaderboards for each car on each track. So you had a reference point for how well you were doing. Even though there are over a thousand cars and 90 track configurations, leaderboards shouldn't be too hard to do.
I would be happy with a premium only leaderboards to start off with, then build from there. The seasonal event leaderboards isn't enough.

Surely PD can't be under the impression that LB's aren't important? Surely!

There must be at least somebody there who is a devoted racing game fan. I really do think that as the game had to be rushed out, (because it took them so long to even get it to work at all, I'll wager) they thought that they would add them as a patch. Then they realised they were getting complaints about so many other things that they have much more to do.

It doesn't help that the feedback forum is full of so many stupid suggestions that people have wasted their votes on.

e.g.
Make all cars premium.
Yeah nice idea buddy. I'm sure they'll get right on that, won't you PD?

PD: Yeah we'll do it tomorrow!

And the best thing is that hundreds of people vote for it. I've got some more suggestions of my own.

3D is ok but please make it 4D:idea:

Add every car ever made:idea:

Add every track in existence:idea:

Get rid of the loading times:idea:

I bet each one of those(well maybe excluding the 4D one) would get more votes than the request for LB's. Maybe I don't know what gamers want? Maybe I'm out of touch?

No your right on the money D.

You know even if we get leaderboards I can see a 5 minute wait while the board updates, probably kick me off the server as well lol.

Take the best part of a minute to get out of GT auto. Imagine trying to find your friends times lol.

I've been moaning about the lack of leaderboards since GT5 was released and im still moaning. Whilst I realise leaderboards like GT5P would of been difficult due to the amount of cars there are many alternatives. I shall list below the leaderboards GT5 should of had.

1. Leaderboards for A Spec including roll up leaderboards. If your unsure what I mean then check out Forza 2 career leaderboards.

2. Same as 1 but for Licence tests and special events.

3. As for arcade time trials like GT5P, well like I say their are many alternatives. You could have leaderboards for premium cars only or they are based on bhp i.e 50,100,150,200bhp etc.

The fact is the combination of only 4 seasonal time trials plus the boring A/B Spec makes playing GT5 seem like a chore. Even finding the right car in the USD for the seasonal time trials is a chore. I can't find anything enjoyable in skipping licence tests in the hope the car appears in the USD.

If I was playing GT5 10yrs ago I would of been happy with the gameplay because I didn't know any different. However these days leaderboards and career leaderboards have become an important part of racing games and even the likes of Burnout had career leaderboards.

I can honestly say if nothing changes soon I shall be off to play other racing games that have been developed for this generation of gamers. Thats the problem with GT5 the gameplay is for those who are stuck in the late 90s/early 00s.

PD is to rushing what Botox is to facial expressions.

I have no doubt that the game was rushed out of the door. 5 or 6 years was how long it took to get everything modelled and get the physics done. It seems to me that they had to push so hard to get that done they had to rush through all the other aspects of the game.

I've no idea about the technicalities of designing a game but my uneducated guess is that they had major problems with fundamental game elements late on, i.e. after the initial release date was announced, and that once they had these fixed, the pressure to release the game meant that they had to throw together a final product in a very short space of time.
