Post above and my earlier posts explains that leaderboards are only on the back of American game cases, as far as i know, someone please correct me if im wrong :)

You're right. There was a bit of a discussion about it in the thread I linked earlier. Caused quite bit of commotion back then ;)

Thats what i thought seems strange why they only advertised all the "missing" features on the American version of the game.

When i seen this on the back of the box for the first time i was pretty excited.I knew in the back of my head that leaderboards probably wouldn't be for the standards, just the premiums. When i got the game home this was the first thing i tried to find but with no success.I was pretty disappointed.

Now i know that we have the leaderboards in the seasonals, but this isn't the same,it's very limited to what you can do and the boards are not up for long.which is a bummer.

If the leaderboards are coming in the next update here is what i hope will be in them.

1.Local Leaderboards
2.Friends Leaderboards
3.Career Leaderboards
4.Single Vehicle Leaderboards.(Based on PI)
5.Fastest Overall Leaderboards(Based on PI.That is if the Performance Index is even bought back.)

Also take another look at the back of the box as it says "Matchmaking".I heard somewhere that Matchmaking was going to be implemented sometime in the future. This also leads me to believe that the Performance Index may be brought back.

Here's hoping this next update will be a good one.👍

Would be great to have all those leaderboard options, but with all the current cars in the game it may be a bit much to ask, imo the leaderboards at least need to be split into two sections, one for just premium cars and the other for standards, reason being you can't put aero on all the standard cars, so a good idea would be to have the premiums used for the tuned leaderboards and the standards for separate stock leaderboards, anyone else like this idea?

Can't believe there is still no permanent time trial leaderboards...The seasonal time trials suck...whats the use; no rewards and after a couple of weeks your perfeormance is erased forever. I want to be able to decide for what track and what car I set a time. Now you are forced to use 1 car thats always the fastest. And if I set a time I want to be able to beat that 3 months later and see how my position in the leaderboards has changed, now I can't do that, so setting a time is useless. I want permanent time trial leaderboards for all tracks and all cars in standard setup so that it doesnt become a tuning leaderboard but an actual drivers leaderboard. With all A and B spec races done (exect for the endurance races which I am not gonna do untill there's a save option), all specials en license tests also done, there's no point for me to play anymore as I don't really like online races. The leaderboards make the fun everlasting, so PLEASE PD give us GT5 Prologue like time trial leaderboards!!!

Ehh, it's much easier to post your Nurburgring times in random cars on that 'Nurburgring Lap Times' dude.

Now gotta find some grass. Where's my shepherd? :)

And that's exactly what I don't want. I want the game to provide that and I want to see everyones times, not only a handfull of peole takeing the trouble to manually post times. Come on, F1 2010 has time trial leaderboards, GT5 prologue has it and loads of other racing games too, so why is it such a big problem for GT5. And I am sure not everyone cares about this option, but then I am also convinced lots of others do.

I know we have seasonal event now but I was wondering if there are any plans to make time trial challenges online where players can enter a race with a pre-defined set of rules and compete for the best time and have the best times posted online. I prefer something like this over just racing strangers in the lobbies because I think there is too much time messing around trying to find a good group and you never know what kind of rules they are going to enforce.

Agreed!!!

It could be great for competitions also. For people who haven't time to be online to compete at certain time for example.

Yeees!! :) I really liked Prologue for that.
I don't like people pushing me around on the track and I don't like tuning so the time trials in Prologue where all cars where the same set up for all players were awesome! :)
Really want time trial boards. Hotlapping in this game is so much fun.

For me, racing gets boring quick without leaderboards. When the game came out Kaz said they would be patched in. Getting to wonder now...

Yep, agreed. The apologists for this feature annoy me, it is a computer game, it is online, and worst of all GT5P had a pretty comprehensive leaderboard so it's hardly new territory for PD. It is a fundamentally missing feature as racing in game is too easy since the AI brakes too early, online racing is patchy and requires time to really find good people etc. Time trialling is my main use of this game, just taking a car round a track and trying to beat my own time is a thrill, but doing it and comparing it with the world was what I loved about GT5 Prologue so much that it's just weird it's not in this game. Dealing with all the info required to set this up is not as much of a challenge as some think, seriously, it's just not. This should be in the game, end of story.

If they add leaderboards, they should also increase the number of "arcade mode" cars, in order to choose more cars for time trial.
Time trial leaderboards are cool, but only if everyone drives the same (stock) car.
(for example: what is the use of leaderboards if everybody uses a different tuned car from their "favourites"?)

At last sentence from the previous post - Yes, then in that case, the leadearboards would be ruined by X2010s, FGTs and F1s.

Yes, I too miss the permanent leaderboards. They add so much to the game experience. Very disappointed that they're not here yet, but I hope an update will fix this soon.

It's been a long time since PD announced that leaderboards, matchmaking and other features were going to be implemented in the game (maybe these things take 5yrs to):sly:

What are your thoughts, with the competition just around the corner, have they left it to late?

Please keep this thread based on GT5 only, no debates please:tup:
