Standard Clean OLR Rules Apply:

  • Unless otherwise specified, all rules from the original WRS event apply.
  • All Hard Surfaces are considered Track Surface. This includes tarmac, red and white rumbles, and concrete. You are expected to drive clean at all times as if you are racing in the WRS. All participants are required to follow the GTPlanet Online Racing Rules & Guidelines.
  • 3D3 Race Stewards (who are taking part in race, but will review the replay) reserve the right to boot or invalidate the result of any driver from the Race Room for driving offensively. If you ignore any warnings from the stewards and are booted from the race room, you will not be allowed to participate in future 3D3 events.
  • 2 wheels on (or vertically in line with) the track at all times
  • Rumble/ripple strips are part of the track
  • Runoff areas are not part of the track
  • Limit your contact with walls or objects, visible or invisible
  • No hybrids
  • No cheating of any kind
  • Nothing that goes against the spirit of the rules
  • Passing and Blocking: Aggressive blocking is not permitted, but the driver in front has the right to choose his/her line and braking point and drivers behind should respect that line. Be especially careful when you are on older tires than the competition as the speed difference may be significant. These events are "for fun" so just play nice and take a conservative rather than an aggressive approach when possible.

Good Luck, OLR Team:gtplanet:

In the event of a field over 14 drivers we will split the grid into two fields based on division.

event18_reg.png

(table will auto update approximately every 30 minutes)

Registration Instructions

The following must be performed by every driver for every event:
  • Click the registration button above, fill-in and submit the online registration form (use your GTP_ tag ID)
  • Leave a quick note in this thread to let us know you've registered and any other comments.
The following must be performed only one time per driver (not per event):
  • Send a PSN friend request to GTP_3D3Racing with subject line "3D3 Racing".
  • Send a PSN friend request to GTP_3D3_B with subject line "3D3 Racing".
  • Submit the 3D3 Racing Online Driver Database Entry Form. Your information will need to be verified before you are added to the db and before your ID will appear in the registered driver table above. You can view the official driver database here.

There is a 24 car/driver limit for this event (per region) and slots are awarded on the grid using a first come first serve basis. Reference the registered drivers table above for availability. This is a stand alone race and points are not tallied for a series. Future WRS-Online races hosted by 3D3 racing may have different driver limits and will require re-registration using the same first come first serve basis and participation in future events is optional.

Registration Changes

If you want to change your time slot, add a time slot or update your color choices just click on the registration link and fill out the form again and submit with new values. Your last entry will override any previous entries.

Cancellations

If for some reason, after you register for the event, you are unable to attend the race please post in this thread so we can update the registration list and make the spot available to another driver. Also click the registration button above and complete the form again selecting only "cancel" as your time slot.

Eligibility

This WRS-Online event hosted by 3D3 Racing is open to GTP_Registered members only. If you are not currently on the registry run the GTP_Registry qualifier and join now!

This is going to be a good one. It was nice testing it with you guys tonight... sorry I'm going to miss it. I'll probably watch the stream of the NA race on my laptop.

Marc, I love the pics... I wonder how many people notice your subtle work.

Looks like fun!!!! I will be missing this one and the next weeks WRSOE. I am working! Must get a PS3 in the firehall!

Signed up for the EU race. I hope my health won't ruin it this time. Sorry again for my late cancellation yesterday.

At the beginning of the mini-race, I'm the one who left the pits when you said to exit to the pits... I understood "exit the pits"... :dunce:

It looks like it's going to be a lot of fun. I'll have to check out some of the replays from week 13, as that was before my time!

Nice one, this was a great event. Signed up for the EU race. 👍

Lots of tail happy wagging with these little buggers. :P

Honestly, I didn't notice it first time around, but it was still morning then :) I did notice now, though. Very nice 👍👍

Yeah, I know the there's a box. But I'm in the middle of a race! Can't you see that?

I signed up for the NA race and will show up in my little purple beast.

Looking forward to running on a track with more than 1 passing zone. :sly:

Seems the times I was running last night are a couple seconds off of my WRS times. Some of that would be down to online physics, but still seems I need to go chase that ghost. I have a feeling the top times that week were run with Active Steering, but we don't allow that in here anymore, so good luck. :mischievous:

Yeah the lap there was done with active steering - I was about 0.2 slower without it (on average). :indiff: It's going to be alot more 'lively' with the online physics too. :P Should be a fun race. I'll check what's going on next week and see if I can get into the NA race as well if that's ok guys.

Tail-happy MR with no tuning allowed = In for both races. I guess the real issue will be preserving rear tires. Nice pics! 👍
Nice video too. 👍

I remember trying to master the chicane during the WRS week, got quite frustrating. I image I'll be sliding around it even more online :scared:

The chicane is all about getting the car pointed the right direction for the first turn, and then most of the steering is done with the throttle, with only minimal steering inputs. I know that's harder with a controller, but that's the approach you should practice. After turn 1, your brake pedal doesn't need to get touched until the right after T1 split. If you do need it for some reason, it should only be a brush to stabilize the car, and you should stay on throttle while you are doing it.

Signed up for the EU race. Made a massive diffrence last night now that Ive got the PS3 using a wired connection.
I will have to try and get some practice in for this race.

Wired is better. 👍

I never trust wireless when I need a rock solid constant connection. It's not bad for streaming or any other application that can use a buffer or work well disconnected (email clients, etc), but for racing or any real time application I wouldn't trust it as a little interference can slow it to a crawl. Plus most people don't know wireless is not full duplex [yet] thus packets can only travel in one direction at a time. A wired connection is full duplex.

Yeah, sometimes I'd miss the apex on the turn after the hairpin, then I go wide and mess the first chicane up, all part of the fun I guess :)

I'll keep your tips in mind, might run a few laps tonight to refresh the memory.

Signed up for the NA Event. 👍 I think I can do practice on Monday. You in Chuk?

That's just their pace. Most normal drivers can't keep up to those two (Ok, I can't :D)

Anyone who's practiced this online, what are your laptimes like? I'm at a 1.29.xxx, which isn't great, but the more worrying factor is the oversteer on corner exits, half my laps are ruined because I keep spinning out.

I've seen high 22's practicing yesterday morning. About 1.0 off my WRS time.

Are you using the controller or wheel? The controller will be tough on here.

Damn. It was just a 10 lap session but that's terrible haha.

Using my new DFGT, have to really be so careful on corners, the car feels like its on ice. Looks like I need to put some serious time into this.
