Will there be an option for clutch on DS3?

So i played Forza at my friends house today for the first time ever (I know, im a traitor) and I really liked the fact how you could assign the clutch to one of the buttons on the controller. Really wish GT5 had it. Does anyone else wish for this, and how would I/we be able to tell PD? (Does anyone have Kaz's number?) Thanks for mature responses.

All of my friends have Xboxs as well as Forza, and I noticed this too! Manual is just not the same without the clutch, and although not ideal for a hardcore racing game it is fun to drive with. I think it should be part of the next update!

No you are not.

And I highly doubt it. I'd imagine that it's an easy thing to implement for PD since the clutch is already modelled (albeit very poorly) for certain wheels.

Toca 3 had it, made you think about your shifts and required a deft touch to avoid blowing the tranny.

A clutch for DS3 could be interesting, not only for shifting (if it worked properly). It may not be thát useful for the DS3, but still, nothing would be removed, only added.

I may be wrong, (as I use a G27) but aren't all the buttons on the DS3 mapped to something already? Which would mean you would have to lose something.

Back to whether I think it's a good idea, yes I do. It would allow DS3 drifters to do clutch pops instead of having to use the handbrake. With enough dexterity it could be used for thumb palm shifting. (heel toe, ha)

You can change pretty much any button to your liking. So I'd remove something that isn't that important like the horn / windscreen wipers / toggling headlights, etc. and replace it with the clutch.

Not meaning to bash or anything, but what exactly would you achieve with a manual clutch on a DS3?

Fun perhaps?

The clutch in Race Driver 3 was fun to use, but after many hours I determined that that was what was causing me to use tires and fuel up faster than the AI(as well as sometimes causing spins), and also cost me a little acceleration on every shift, so I eventually turned it off. It would have been nice if there was a small delay simulated when releasing the clutch the way it works with a digital clutch in rFactor.

I ran that on my old wheel with no clutch pedal. Does anybody know if that game can work with one that has a pedal? My GT3 has a clutch but it doesn't work with GT5 since PD doesn't understand why anyone without a separate shifter unit would want to use a clutch. I tried it in RD3 but I couldn't make it work.

clutch with DS3... hmmm, the only point I see for it, is Fun factor...

PS. I recommend a wheel for any hardcore GT5 fan! its worth it every penny! 👍

I would love to get a G27, but getting a real car is waay more important IMO.

With the button map, I would switch out reverse for the clutch, and downshift once more after 1st to go into reverse(If that was applicable)

But anyways, does any have know how we could contact PD (Anyone have kaz's number lol).

I doubt that PD would listen to the idea of one person. I mean, we've urged them to fix the engine sounds since GT5P, and did they listen? No.

That said, implementing a clutch for the DS3 shouldn't be hard at all.
