Thankyou for confirming that with me :D

Current list of my times:

Renault Clio Renault Sport '02 - 1:22.993 (305 BHP, 1200 KG, 477 PP)
Alfa Romeo 147 GTA '02 - 1:23.526 (305 BHP, 1200 KG, 474 PP)

Lexus IS200 '98 - 1:24.572 (305 BHP, 1400 KG, 455 PP)

Also, there is a test race running tomorrow night at Deep Forest Raceway after the conclusion of the meet.

If you wish to race, please nominate a car from the list and tune it to the regulations. Do any more further set-up work if you wish - ultimate possible pace please!

There needs to be at least one S2 Audi, BMW and Ford/Honda in the race to allow for comparisons, since they're the standard I suppose we're testing against.

Current Nominated Cars:
JulleGaard - Nissan PRIMERA 20V (EU) ’01/Alfa Romeo 156 2.5 V6 24V '98
rolo912011 - Ford Focus ST '06

I think the best possible way that this will work is if one person tests every car on 1 or 2 tracks, with a stock setup, for the same number of laps (say 5)

Rinse and repeat until a few people have done it, then add the times up :)

I think that's what we're doing already, from what I gather

I'll be doing this on a different track, if that's OK

In 2nd post you should specify on which track the lap times were set.
Also car nominations in OP 👍

I'm running all the cars at Deep Forest. 5 clean laps per car, with cars set up to the regs (but with Tyre/Fuel off).

The test races are designed really to assess how the cars will fare in actual races - it wouldn't be great to have a rapid car over one lap that wore it's tyres out ridiculously! :)

Lap times from the races should also be saved, so the race pace of each car can be assessed.

I guess in the test races if everyone takes note of their own car, it shares the workload :) I can post up the race results, and perhaps spreadsheet them.

Also, I know it's not on the list but I did test the Toyota Corolla RUNX Z Aerotourer '02 at Deep Forest, but it did a 1:26.509 and couldn't reach the bhp limit when fully tuned... would be too slow to include, I feel. Don't think any other Toyotas really count as modern BTCC cars.

Yes that would be great if everyone could do that 👍

Let's leave the Toyota :)

karsten's requested that we put the Honda Accord Euro-R '00 in place of the Honda Accord Euro-R '02 model.. I'm good with that.

It would be good if the OP car list could be updated :)

Yeah, more accurate seeing as the newer-gen Accord never raced in the BTCC

How about the new Mazda 6 as the toyota avensis in the 2012 season of BTCC? They are both Japanese and both sedans.
It's even a premium!

I'm gonna have to miss all tomorrow's racing. Do you want to take over the running of the test race Julle (if it happens). If it does happen then let us know the findings :)

I personally wouldn't have the Mazda, and personally I'd have the '01 Primera over the '90. But I dunno, if both prove competitive... a '90 car being as quick as the modern ones would shock me though!

I'll do that :)
See you next Friday 👍

As mentioned before there will be a test-race shortly after the two main races tonight (if necessary we can do two test-races).
The race will consist of current season 2 cars and suggestions for possible season 3 cars. The test will show if the season 2 rules for fwd, rwd and 4wd cars have given cars that before were out of pace a new chance to shine :)

The race will be of same length as the normal races (20 min) so that the tire deterioration can be assessed as well.

After the race, lap-times and race results will be noted and put into this thread, letting us remove cars which are horribly out of pace.

And as rolo said before, please nominate either a season 2 or season 3 car for the test-race that you wish to participate in.

Please note bhp, weight and pp for the season 3 car you wish to use 👍

See you tonight! :)

Test race canceled due to Season 2 race being delayed.

Also Do we want a Season 3 drivers list?

Also Do we want a Season 3 drivers list?

I was imagining that in the test races, people would be free to drive what they wanted, so long as there's the S2 cars present and a decent spread of potential additions :)

Perhaps we could recruit drivers if there's issues with our S2 drivers being able to attend.

Good Idea, it may also gain interest or support :sly:👍

Audi S4 '98 - 1:24.678 (305 BHP, 1400 KG, 464 PP)

As you can see, I added the Audi S4 '98 to the list because I think it's more similar to the current A4 than the S3, but as you can see, it's pretty slow!

10 cars left to test for me:

Audi S3 '02
BMW 135i Coupe '07
BMW 330i '05
Honda Civic Type R '08
Peugeot 307 XSi ’04
VW Golf V GTI '05
Honda Accord Euro-R '00
Nissan PRIMERA 20V (EU) ’01
Peugeot coupé 406 3.0 V6 ’98
Volvo S60 T-5 Sport ’03

Unsure about my availability for a Monza test race this Friday, will have to let people know nearer the time.
