Apparently Sony will have two new games to show. Some gaming sites are saying to expect new content from Sony's biggest hitters. And who is bigger inside Sony then PD

Will GT6 be shown?

I doubt that GT6 will be there since it is still quite early in the game's development.

In my opinion we'd have a better chance of seeing it at next year's Gamescon and that's a big MAYBE!

It's more likely to see GT for vita like Spagetti69 said.

It would be nice for Gt6 to show up but i don't feel it will be there. I feel that it will be vita if any gran turismo or PD shows up at all.

Although it would be nice to see some news on Gt6

They only just announced and still have to release GT5: Academy Edition, so I'd be surprised if we get a GT6 announcement at Gamescom or TGS. It'll probably be announced at some random point whenever PD feel like it. lol.

Vita maybe. But just an announcement.

If they do Vita, that would be stupid, and Kaz would kinda be lying because he said that they're working almost completely on GT6. The other thing that they're working on is the GT5 updates, I think.

They asked via a survey if vita owners wanted a GT.
Also vita needs a shot in the arm.
Makes perfect buisiness sense to me.

Only downside will be the inevitable delay/or compromises made.

Heh?
@Newsportsx: that recent updates have become small or that there aren’t cars on DLCs, is this because you’re putting hard efforts on [GT] 6?
@Kaz_Yamauchi: Yep. (This can also be translated as “Well…”, thanks to Dai_watt for the additional clarification!)

Like with the "DLC every two months" deal, he never promised it so see how that reads in comparison.

Notably, he offers a rough timeline of how often we can expect new content to be introduced in Gran Turismo 5:

"I think that will include cars and tracks that we’ll be releasing maybe once every two months or so from here on out..."

I really, really am starting to dislike the GT Academy. What a scourge on Gran Turismo IMO. I dont play Gran Turismo to be a real racing driver and even if I did what are the odds. Most of the guys who win the competition already have a background in karting etc so if you think you can win by just playing GT yeah right

This! 👍

Anyhow if GT6 is shown at Gamescon I'll invite E.T. over for dinner! It's too early (for GT6, not dinner xD) so I really can't see it happening.

FYI about the newest GT Academy competition.

They’re using a car already in the game and a track already in the game using the Free Run mode already in the game and the event’s being run by a group of PR companies. There’s nothing additional or special for it and PD aren’t really involved, so how is time being taken out of anything?

Since GT5 XL is going to cost only $20 USD starting next week, and this isn't going to be full price either, it makes me think that GT6 will release earlier than even I expect. I's hopes so.

It wouldn't be the first time he lied, and it wouldn't be the first time some of his statements are taken out of context or simply translated wrongly. The only statements to be trusted are official PD/Sony announcements.

That standalone GT Academy game we downloaded from the PSN store didn't just write itself. And it didn't contain only things from the existing GT5. Though granted, a lot of it is now in GT5, either by rewards or via DLC (even though we yet have to see something like the friend- or online leaderboards). It definitely took time to develop it.

But the time to develop it would be tiny compared to a GT Vita (if that exists).

This is the same way I felt recently way back. If GT does fully become that, I'm gone for good becomes I'm not playing GT to become a real driver. Seriously. :indiff:

When people are saying it's "too early" for an announcement, I have to disagree. At GT5's release, Kaz stated that GT6 was in development (as I remember). That gives them two years to begin making a game, combined with the assurance that GT6 will come in a more timely fashion than GT5 did. I doubt we will see GT6 next week, but if we don't, it isn't because it's too early in the development process.

I cannot see GT6 being announced so soon. Wait until next year, where I can assure you it will be announced (given it isn't announced this year), and have a release date around Fall 2013.

If it's not announced at gamescom next week, I don't think we'll hear anything new from tgs, and there's a possibility that it would be on the next generation platform.

Man why all the hate for GT Academy.

Don't be jealous they used GT to help start a career in racing.:P

Sony has recently trademarked 2 new games, 'Rain' and 'Until Dawn'. I'm hoping for a GT 6 announcement but it seems these titles are more likely.

They could be GT titles also:D

GT6: Until Dawn

GT Vita: Rain

My quick Google search skills tell me that Quick Dawn is a Move title.

Instant dislike.:grumpy:

Oh I'm not jeolous of those winning to be apart of GT Academy, nor hating it. Its just that I'm worried GT may have less attention than the academy, especially when on the news section its mostly about that than the game which slightly angers me.

Just my thoughts btw, I just wish GT could have more attention like it did from the past...

The games will always have more attention than the Academy. Don't worry about that bro.👍

Kaz and co know where their bread and butter is. Whatever news we get from the Academy is fine and dandy. But after the first news detailing GT6 comes out, these boards will erupt.

Even though I'm not really into the whole GT Academy thing. I think its pretty cool that its apart of racing.

I'm glad GT6 is getting more of the attention and not GT5 now, makes me feel slightly better to know about that. Hope to hear more about GT6 soon. I like hearing about new games I truly love.

Thanks man. 👍

I wouldn't expect anything huge like a date or a really juicy announcment, but there's always the possibility of a teaser or two. GT5 was teased for a looooong time before it came out.

You never know.

Thats early by PD standards

Well true but you'd think (or hope) it's at least half way through dev time so pretty far along. But maybe after the debacle of the first GT PS3 game Sony might have told Pd they can't even announce the game until they're absolutely certain it's 6 months away from completion.

Wasn't it stated somewhere that development for their next game began shortly after GT5's release? Correct me if I'm wrong, but this would mean they're already about 2 years into development.
