Further explanation of the theme, as described by slzk:

"The potential of the R33 has always been undermined. The successor to the R32 didn't impress
as it should have. Then the R34 came along, and this car was almost forgotten. Come the R35,
and this car just faded away, living in the shadows of his brothers.
It sits at home, coming out only at the night where the shadows prevail. "

CAR: Nissan Skyline R33 GT-R
LOCATION: Kyoto Gion

The way that detail is being expressed in the eighth entry is a ballot grabber.

The level of this week's entries are insane! Really gets me in the mood for taking some shots. Love them all!

Week 98's entries were pretty strong. The mood was properly conveyed in most of the photos, with the majority hitting it just right. A big 👍 to all.

Great shots, hard to make a decision :nervous:

But I made the poll, yea :D

EDIT: WOW, 5 votes  Thanks allenallen, Crooooooow, lilmann73, McZachenF1138 and TheDude78 👍

EDIT²: 11 Votes now :embarrassed: Thx driftinziggy, fkxpro, Gtuned, kaede, raz_10, Sinfour

Mine got negative comments from someone which cheesed me off before the poll so not surprised I didnt make it

Feedback?

Too much color? not dull, dreary and repetitive enough i guess?

Sad to say, but you got that right. :nervous: It's a little dull, honestly speaking. Everything else is great in the photo, the colour's pretty fine (although it somehow clashes in my eye), the aperture's just right and composition is strong. Believe it or not, yours was the last off the list. I had a hard time contemplating which to give the boot between yours and another. It's just the overall 'wow' factor that your photo lacks. Missed the poll by a clinch, but don't fret- the poll's strong this week.

Another gret poll! and its my favorite car in real life! Would love to own one, but Norway is hell when it comes to imported cars...

Anyway, I would love some feedback :)

Norway is hell? You should try Singapore. The tax more than doubles the price of the cars and the law states that all importations must be no more than 3 years old. So no chance for an R33 to be imported here. :nervous:

Now on to the picture. The angle's pretty sweet. :) The composition and framing are pretty alright but if only the R33 was moved a little more to the left, it would make better. But what really irked me in this photo is that the focus isn't on the rear, which is the first thing the eye catches. In fact, the focus doesn't even seem to be anywhere on the car. And that's the biggest problem. Sorry you didn't make top 15. :guilty:

HAHA and I thought Germany was hell because of emmision laws :D

I liked both pictures of the blue R33, sad that they didn't made the poll 👎

My original shot was very identical to yours so I had to go back in and change things around, I basically just flipped the car around.

The USA laws are weird too. But we can import any car as long as it's 20 years old. Canada is 15 years. I'd love to have a Skyline. But I'd love to import an old Hilux, crew cab, 4x4....sorry OT....

Thank you for the feedback :) Yes, its looks like the focus is not there, but its there.. somewhere :dopey:

I'll try again next week!

Ok what i failed in this one?

8078242344_ebd1fe6a06.jpg

To start off, you're doing a close-up shot, and a smaller focal length would really have helped it, it looks as if you had the f/number set all the way up to 45, and that isn't really helping. Close-ups like this would really do better if the aperture is correctly done. :)

This is a pretty good shot 👍, but it stands out to me as really dull. Compared to the poll makers, this one seemed as if anyone could do it, maybe tilt the camera a little bit more so it wouldn't be straight, try a little bokeh, anything that would make your photos stand out, maybe even in-game filters if you know how to work them. There are 30 entries this week and you have to stand out to make the poll. :) So those are the biggie: Your photo needs to stand out from the pack. And there's the aperture problem.

Cheers.

There is a bunch of Skylines sold in Norway, and here is some on sale atm http://www.finn.no/finn/car/used/result?CAR_MODEL/MAKE=792&CAR_MODEL/MODEL=8142
The price is in kroner, so youb have to devide the price with 8.
€ 1 = 8 norwegian Krones.
And as you can see, most off em are GTS not GTR. I can spend around €9000-10000 to get a GT-R R33 or R34 with no plates.

...all my best shots on ps3/tv, seem to transfer "bad" :grumpy: 👎

rather than re-shoot, timeline dictates a "next best" choice! :indiff: :( :P guess this was too BIG :odd:

but those reflections  ...made it my choice! ;)

critique? :scared:

I used to have the same problem. Shots taken on my PS3 would turn out 'normal' on my computer, that is until I discovered a fault within the monitor itself. My monitor had bad saturation and contrast, so everything that turned out nice under my monitor actually isn't. I recommend you looking at your shots from another computer to check the quality of your monitor. :)

Now onto the shot itself.
Those reflections are indeed tasteful :), but it would've worked so much better on another colour, say orange/black?
Again, close-ups like this wouldn't stand out to me compared to the rest. Anyone could take a shot like this, and that's why the photo has to stand out to be great. The composition, while without fault, isn't really tasteful. There isn't really many interesting elements in the photo other than the car, and the overall dullness brought it down. Try something new next time, a quirky angle or something that would surprise. Making interesting, 'wow-ing' photos is what makes a great photo. 👍

Better luck next time!

Congratulations Nuschel01! 👍

A fine and very tightly contested win, happy to have given you a good run for your money. ;)

Thanks to bmxmitch and WeShallNverStop for those votes! :D

And congrats to you for your first win, Nuschel01! 👍
