*NOTE: during European summertime the races will start at 18:00 BST, not 18:00 GMT.

Welcome to Season 1 of the Renault Clio Cup!

Championship website

Renault Clio Cups are widely recognized as THE way for young drivers to get into the touring car scene. The equal cars guaranteed close racing and lots of action. When drivers of these cars asked for even more power, Renault gave them the ground-shaking V6 Clio racer. Can you master this piece of outstanding machinery, packed to the limit with F1-tech?

NOTE! Only the Renaultsport Clio/Lutecia Renault Sport Trophy Race Cars are allowed, the Premium road version is not!

The race will be held in my (rallymorten) private lounge as people fail to read the PRIVATE tag when attempting to run the races in public.

Please be in the lounge on time. Weight checks will begin 5 minutes after said time. When these are done for all drivers, 5 minutes of qualifying begins. Please leave at least a few seconds of room between you and the driver ahead.

ClioCupbanner02_zps9fe039fc.png

The Clios may be touring cars, but clean racing is expected. Refer to the GTPlanet OLR for all regulations.

The race week consist of a qualifying session, consisting of two timed laps.

Race 1 grid will be based on the qualifying results.

Race 2 grid will be reverse Race 1 results

Race 3, the longer Feature Race, will have grids based on the results from the first two races. The better you do, the better your start position for the Feature.

When lining up for Race 3, leave the pits in the order announced by rallymorten, and park on the first possible straight. You only need to take notice of who are to be in front of and who behind of you. When you've parked, only the main steward (rallymorten) is allowed to move in order to check if everyone is situated in the correct spot. This procedure should not take more than 2 mins at max.

A part of any race is overtaking. As most other series, dive-bombing will be looked down upon. However, we are aware of the difference between dive-bombing and tucking down on the inside to outbrake a fellow competitor. Under all circumstances, you are to show respect for the one overtaking as well as the overtaken one. Leaving enough room on the track will make any moment less controversial.

Once you are in the room, prepare to have your weight checked right away. Using the chat during this time is not illegal, but when it's your weight being checked, you will have to go to the track instead of finishing your post.

dude check the bankfin S2 in my signature for correct and close touring car spec's,
but if you want to run the Integra at these spec's you have to take away 20BHP from each car, and use the Integra RM, its better balanced,

Infact you could take it over if you like,

Idea, if you want to split the classes ie:- 8V8,

I may suggest, Ford Focus ST 418PP, Volvo C-30 420PP, Renault sport Megane 418PP, VW scirocco 415PP, all tuning prohibited, just oil change, run in and detuned,
These are the closest 4 car's not tuned on GT5, apart from the BRZ and its brother's, on sports soft's, I think a 4AM alarm could be upsetting the missus again

Never really saw how much similar to Bankfin this was but I'm up for it if you guys can live with shorter races :)

If your happy to take it over, and run it at the same time as WRC a day later you will get 12 sign up's straight away, I couldn't do it because I'm at work but this had a good 15 strong field most races,

Like I said, I'm currently checking my chances and stuff but I'll get back to you on it. Sundays don't seem likely though as my mother doubts we haven't been playing our time away at my dad's place

That's cool mate, there would be one or two people that could help you run the Sunday slot, but these fella's do it weekly, so bi-weekly you could run it,

BUMP!

The thread has been changed to include some new ideas for championships that, if there's enough interest, can begin very soon and some that require a little longer time.

V8SC won't work with those cars, I had initially tried to spec them, the Merc really is slow for what ever reason, the Mustang has a handling issue, its best weight balance with +200KG is 63/37 the Commodore just runs away with it, So I guess it could work just like real life

lupo Cup, interested,
Beetle Cup, interested,
Seat Supercup, NO!
Clio Cup, deadly interested!
Touring cars.... Dude you can take over Bankfin, there is a heap of interest for it, Just alter it to your needs, oh I remember you said no doe to entrant conflicts,

I'm thinking I may run an Integra RM Tuning Prohibited week day cup, its a fun car to drive, not much power, racing soft tires set to fast wear, pending testing of course,
2 X 20 lap races? making 1 mandatory pitstop, Thoughts,

(main reason I chose the Integra RM is it is a fantastic car to drive, easily accessed and will only require FR type drivers to do testing)

You got the idea of V8  I'll consider you as interested and also try to adapt the times as much as I can to also be Aussie-friendly but I can't promise for the weekly ones.

as a time base, if it was around half hour later then WRC IIRC, on a weekend I could totally make it, nearly every event,

Also I'm keen to test some idea's and I will be on in the next hour or so, hit me up,

I should also be online in about an hour, plus the plans are having a bigger test of most if not all series next Friday

Darn disconnections, plus it wouldn't let me rejoin. But I actually think I'll go with the Clio, will be fun with the right people

Most of them  the only one I might not want to make on a Friday is the GT which in that case would take WRC's time slots, but as I said nothing is absolutely set in stone, only that the GT will be the only lasting more than an hour in total, the usual parent problem. GT races lasting 30 mins ain't good but one-makes kinda has a tradition for being sprint-ish races :)

The Renault is a nice, powerful car that can drift even on Racing Softs which makes it a fun challenge to drive, whereas the Lupo is light, handles like a dream, and offers a completely different challenge. Heck, if I find time I may do one on Fridays and one another day :sly:

Test room open, try any of the cars you want:

GTP series test
1472-4710-9995-5394-6506

Can't come, going to work soon. :(

I'd be up for Global TCC, but, my other series idea... They could conflict.

Depends on what day and time you wanted to run yours, though I'm sure we can figure out

Room closed

Ok. So i'm basicly interested all those your planed series :)
More so low hp cars...

The decision has been made. The 2 championships making it to the final round (for now, others may join them) and will be in focus in the test next week are:

Renault Clio Cup
Global Touringcar Championship

The races will start at 18:00 gmt time.
Qualifying will be 2 timed laps
Race system is tba, as I need to see what I can work out about things. If these conversations go well, expect the races to have 2 sprint and a feature race. If not, the feature race will be dropped.
Exact point system tba though I can say this much: heat points.
Proposed schedule for whichever the final choice is:

Grand Valley East
Deep Forest
Nürburgring GP/D
Laguna Seca
Suzuka East
Clubman Stage Route 5
Cape Ring South
Monza
Autumn Ring
Hockenheimring (Eifel created track. Possible replacement: GV East Reverse)

GTC form
Clio Cup form

As I don't know if I made the form correctly, please fill it in and confirm your choices here, so I can see if it works appropriately :)

Edit: Yay, it works
