RACING STUFF:
Hold the proper racing line through the corners as passing cars are to pass "off" line. Cars being passed should not weave back and forth on any straight or change racing lines while a faster car is within passing range. Failure to follow this procedure can result in a penalty according to the severity of the situation. (Be courteous, let the faster cars through)
All GTPlanet online racing rules and guidelines apply. GTPlanet OLR Rules
Any track incident must be reported within 36 hours of the race completion for evaluation by the Race Stewards and should only be reported via personal message. If an infraction is proven to be valid penalty/penalties in accordance with the severity of the incident will be applied.
These penalties can range from point deduction penalties to disqualification from a race or the entire Championship.
Every report will be evaluated and a decision will be reached and made official after the stewards have reached a verdict.

DURING THE RACE STUFF:
There will always be slight knocks here and there, either from errors, or close racing. However, 31 taps before the first pit is something that is not expected, it's poor race conduct. Aggressive racing is expected, but bad corner/braking choices should not be made. Especially with heavy damage being activated.
Try to let faster cars by when safe. If you want to be in a league then you need to respect the other drivers. Do not ram, brake check or spin someone out if you think a driver did something to you on purpose. Dropping out of a race is poor sportsmanship. Stuff happens, just get back in the race, go for yours and let the Race Stewards deal with the incident. Dropping out and jumping back in to berate somebody by mic. or lobby text is not smart and disruptive to everybody on the track.

-Sometimes a driver will see someone coming up fast behind and they will try to get out of the way only to end up BEING in the way, that's just stress not intention.
-The faster drivers need to give the slower cars some time to set up a good line to be passed. Faster drivers please be patient, it's more fun when it's clean.

If something happens and you screw up a drivers race say sorry (or text it after a race or PM them) let the driver know what was going on and race another day.

AND MORE STUFF:
- No Intentional hitting spinning out of opponents
- DO NOT drive the wrong way around the track during the race- No Corner Cutting, 2 wheels must be on track at all times
- Do not drive over blue paint with any 1 or more tires
- Do not put all 4 wheels on green paint
- No Blocking while on a straight or weaving (one move may be allowed for drivers racing for position only)
- No Trash Talking or degrading remarks to other Racers
- You cannot pass by going off track (if this occurs give the gained position back)
- You Must yield to Traffic upon returning to the track
- You must yield to Lead lap Traffic (try to keep an eye on running order)
-WHEN YOU SPIN A DRIVER OUT AND THEY CRASH OR GO OFF COURSE GIVE THE POSITION BACK IF IT WAS MORE THAN JUST A SMALL ACCIDENT. IF YOU CHOOSE NOT TO GIVE THE POSITION BACK AND THE INCIDENT IS REPORTED AND DETERMINED TO BE A RESULT OF MORE THAN JUST A SMALL ACCIDENT A POINTS PENALTY WILL BE ISSUED.

MISSING A RACE:
Reserve drivers will be asked to fill the void spaces as they open up. Regular league members please notify the league president when you know you may not attend a race. League members may also propose to have the race postponed until then next scheduled race day. If a proposal is made all of the league members may approve or disapprove with the majority vote to rule. It's more fun if everyone is around.

Looks great Red. These cars are a lot of fun to drive. Looking forward to it.

Hey cb, welcome back. I've added you to the driver list. Just get me your car# and color scheme when you get the chance. Thanks!

Hey can I sign up?

Yes, Please add me on PSN (redrobin347) and the other guys if you wish. Please plan on participating in the practice session on 2/27.

ncr, i see you lurking. Will you be joining us?

So. Who would say no ABS is a good thing. It was fun when we did it last time. ncr, would you say ABS would defeat overall lap times?

I've tossed the idea around and felt it wouldn't be fair to those that are against it. The MX-5, however, is a great car to start learning to drive without the use of ABS.

My goal with this series was to get everyone back together for some fun racing. I also tossed in some small changes that we typically don't use, reverse grid and weather for example, to change it up a bit. I really didn't want to push anyone away by mandating driving style changes. But we can discuss to see how everyone feels about not using ABS.

FYI: A majority of us were driving last night without ABS.

I love abs 0! As Red said, the Roadster is a great car to learn to drive without abs. I think anyone that drives with a controller should voice an opinion since It's easier to learn with a wheel and pedals.

Well, lap times may not be as consistent until you get the feel of no abs. As far as speed, you would likely be faster w/o abs until you get used to it. Doubt if you would be faster without it.

This is probably a super easy car to learn no ABS. Seems like lockup was nearly non existent when I drove it a while ago. Just takes some practice if one is willing to try. I know you guys like heavy damage so that's a big consideration. Personally I'd prefer light damage if no ABS is the rule, I'm still finding dents on my M3 GTR!

Edit: Just ran a few. It can lockup just fine ,heh. I was running the same lap times. Needed to brake a little sooner w/o ABS. B/B 3/0, 4,1.

Who is pro abs? Anyone got times to shoot for? I would like to do some testing and get used to cockpit view. Anyone using the shifter ?

I'll probably drive this series without ABS. The Miata feels more lifelike without it. However, it is not mandatory. Those that wish to run ABS 1, may do so.

I don't recall the test times as i didn't write them down.

I plan on using the H-gate without the clutch. The clutch in GT5 is awful.

This info has also been added to the front page.

PRE SEASON Practice Race ( not mandatory for veteran drivers)
February 27, 2013
Cape Ring South (2.01)
15 Laps x2
Ideal places for overtaking: Front stretch, turns 1, 7 & 11
caperingsouth.png

Cape Ring South is probably my favorite of the Cape Ring layouts. It has a bit of everything. High speed sections, long front stretch, heavy braking zones, slow speed turns and high speed rhythm sections.

There are plenty of sections for attempting a pass. The best options would be the long front stretch, turn 1, turn 7 and turn 11. I wouldn't advise attempting a pass in turns 3 & 4, 5 & 6 or 9 & 10. These turns are rhythm sections at a pretty high speed. Passing here could easily knock both cars out of the race.

Be cautious of the curbing at Cape Ring as they are fairly steep and will send your car out of control. Especially turns 3 & 4. The curbing has a way of grabbing your tires and sending you into a violent skid / spin.

Heat 2 will be reverse grid order from the final results of race 1. Respect the driver in front of you. Do not force the overtake. Either wait for the driver in front to make a mistake or wait for the ideal passing opportunity. The slower car has a right to their racing line. It is the responsibility of the driver attempting the pass to make it clean and incident free. The lead car may not block. You are entitled to 1 racing move. Weaving back and forth to block is unsportsmanlike. Aggressive driving will not be tolerated and point deductions will be issued to those that may ruin anyone's race.

Be cautious exiting the pits here. It tosses you right into a left hand turn. Be prepared or else you'll end up off track. I highly recommend practicing exiting the pits a few times before the race.

I'm going abs 0 with H gate shifter, no clutch and cockpit view.

I don't have lap times for cape ring. I kept notes for the series tracks.
